it was the first place that I had ever seen people make real, meaningful connections online. and it grew beyond the internet's boundaries. there were local meetups, regional gatherings, annual "reunions". there were marriages and breakups, births and deaths. it was a real tight knit, supportive community. I say "was", but it might still be. I wouldn't know because I haven't visited that website in years, but I made lifelong connections on that website that I still maintain. it doesn't matter that I don't go to that URL anymore. I have phone numbers, email addresses, IM screennames, heck even home addresses. those relationships don't go away.

people seem to be panicking about FriendFeed, and I'm familiar with the feeling. FriendFeed will change over time, that's a guarantee, but as long you're confident in the connections you've formed here, you've nothing to worry about. trust me.
