Context: recently two male swimmers 'got in trouble' for posting a photo of them holding firearms in a US gun shop. Gun control is a big issue here (See: Port Authur Tragedy) and they were accused of 'bringing the sport into disrepute'. Suddenly Swimming Australia remembered that they took the entire Australian Swimming Team to a gun range back in 2007 and even released PR shots of them firing. This then sent the media on the hunt for ANYTHING scandalous on Twitter. It's a media beat up. No one actually cares except the media as Rice has even said herself that Swimming Australia and the Australian Olympic Commitee have asked her to pose in similar swimwear for PR shots and modelling previously.
