Oh please. 91 octane is $4.24 out here (SFBay). 87 ranges from $3.85 to $4.05. I'm sure San Francisco proper is higher. - Kevin Fox
But still.... Seeing more than $3.50 a gallon on those gas station signs is still a culture shock. I looks like they're selling value meals,, not a gallon of gas... - Chris Reed
The trouble is that we're used to it. I still find it amazing that, for the price of a value meal, I can drive three times farther than the furthest distance the average medieval peasant ever traveled from his birthplace, and I can do it at 70 mph (75 in parts of Nevada)! - Kevin Fox
People sweat the small stuff - it's the $2 water bottle at the gym that really bothers me - Aviv
Awesome!! Keep it up, FF is going to add 70 more services next week ;) (kidding) - Jigar Mehta via twhirl
I'm still working on adding Google Reader and Disqus when I have time... 35 is impressive! - Mitchell Tsai
I figured that it was best to try out some of the sites that I hadn't tried out, like iLike. Plus it locks my name in on all of these services in case I want to use them in the future. Plus my FriendFeed badge looks kick ass now. Haha. - Thomas Hawk
I like the locking-in-name idea. In 1991, there were 2 "Mitchell Tsai"s on the internet. Now there are around 13 of us. I wasn't able to choose "mitchelltsai" for LinkedIn or Gmail or Yahoo! Mail because I was such a "mainstream" or "late adopter". So Google refuses to show my LinkedIn profile, because it figures "mitchtsai" is just a duplicate of the Houston "mitchelltsai" - Mitchell Tsai
2,324 Chris! Now that's impressive. I've joined a lot more of course (but nowhere near 2,324) I'll try to keep joining them as FriendFeed adds them. - Thomas Hawk
That's a lot of noise we'd all be making if we all joined every network imaginable. And I know people will say "just filter it out". Then what's the point of adding it to ff? - Shawn Farner via twhirl
I don't get why this feature is getting so much hype. I already use Tumblr to do the same thing which is ported into FF and it doesen't have Scoble's isssue at all. - Jeff
Jeff, we're just bored about talking about MSFT and YHOO, that's all. - Robert Scoble
Seesmic looks cool. I need an invite to try it. - David Risley via twhirl
@DavidRisley follow @getSeesmic to get your seesmic invite or go to techcrunch to get one. - Susan Beebe
Hey, they finally fixed the subscription selection panel for safari. Now the arrows work. I'm even more anal than Scoble. :) - Jay Cruz
they badly need a social network. and friendfeed commenting. one problem google reader has is that i use it under a separate gmail account than my regular google apps for your domain account, and it doesn't recognize i've got split identities. - Ranjit Mathoda
Robert, glad to see you back in Seesmic! wew, when do you put the video comments on too? - Loic Le Meur
Keyboard shortcut missing is a major concern - Mo Jawhari
it feels like a solution looking for a problem. I can't come up with a reason to use it, - Sean Reiser
Yeah, I haven't had a single message through FB in like 6 weeks. I try to stick to Gmail. - Chris Wallace via Alert Thingy
I really don't see why anyone over 20 is interested in Facebook. - TranceMist
Anyone over 20 who has a job should be interested in the professional networks. Currently, it's more flexible than linkedin. The groups are also ok. With that said, I use it primarily for the private groups I'm a part of. - Bwana McCall
say what you want - In a period of 3 monhs I have connected with at least 20 odd people whom I had totally lost touch with for over a decade or so .... I am positive I would not have managed that without fb. - viki saigal
Managing messages is definitely a mess on FB. If you have your FB messages forwarded to an Outlook or Gmail address, at least you can leverage those platforms to search and manage the messages. Far from the answer, but a slight improvement... - Jeffrey Sass
Totally agree that changes need to be made to the way Facebook handles messages, I am lucky in the sense that I don't get many but seeing some of the inboxes I can understand how out of hand it must get! - Joe Dawson
IMHO FB should provide a professional page, and a personal page. The simple method of putting friends in different groups is juts not enough... - Jez Arnold
I don't know, but I am abandoning AlertThingy for it just because I don't have time to read every single damn thing on here. - Chris Wallace via Alert Thingy
I'm reduced to playing with Brightkite. The humanity... - David Bisset via twhirl
FriendFeed has never gone down. Or even gotten slow. It's like the guys who started it worked at Google or something. Oh, wait, that's right, they did. - Robert Scoble
@Scoble: True enough. I wonder if they smuggled a HP Superdome out when they left the building. Or maybe 87 Linux boxes was their leaving present :-) - Andy C
@Scolbe: Watch it Robert, or you're going to jinx it. - David Bisset
Twitter out here, also. Good thing, because I have to get some work done. Hoohoo. - Cesar Cardoso
I didn't know about this until I saw this message. I tried going to m.twitter.com on my phone and got a 500 Internal Server Error. Didn't even get a birdie. - Ontario Emperor
@Scoble do you want Jaiku invitation? it is more reliable than twitter and some time ago moved to Google's infra... - silpol
silpol I've been on Jaiku since the first days. I like FriendFeed a lot better. - Robert Scoble
Robert, I'd love to see a demo of how you use FriendFeed - I keep trying to move over but just can't figure out a productive way to use it. - Jesse Stay
@Scoble i wish FF gets sms mechanism for push one day, as twitter or jaiku - silpol
Jesse, I'm writing a blog post right now about one aspect: liking and commenting. - Robert Scoble
I'm excited to see it - I'd also love to see how you browse your feeds. When do you use Twitter vs. Friendfeed, Reader, etc.? - Jesse Stay
Jesse: I don't have a set routine. I watch FriendFeed the most, though. I also use Google Reader quite often, watch Twitter on either Twhirl or Google Talk or Tweetscan (not to mention FriendFeed), and still look at TechMeme too. I just posted the thing about listening on FriendFeed on my blog at http://scobleizer.com - Robert Scoble
I've started watching both friendfeed and socialthing - playing with both trying to work out which best suits my needs. It is quite possible that both will, but it also means seeing duplication. - Mick Adams
i watched frienfeed, socialthing, and twhirl and kept refreshing twitter. all this after working 12 hours. maybe i have a problem. - lisa church
not even a fair poll... FriendFeed is open to the public, SocialThing is in private beta... until SocialThing is comfortable enough with their application to actually let people in to give it a fair shake then it really doesn't deserve to be compared to anything. (SocialThing looks prettier from the picture I've seen though.) - Matt Shaulis
Heck no. And tell Corvida she is cheating! Twitter by proxy!! - Sarah Perez
FF, but I can use ST to easily watch all my Flickr contacts. - Russellreno
FriendFeed because of their first mover status, they're not 'private beta', 'founded by ex-Googleers' gives reassurance that my minor time investment was wise - Pat via Alert Thingy
socialthing has a slightly different approach to social aggregation. SocialThing acts as more of a tool to aggregate all of your social networks, while FF is about picking John and Jane Doe and watching *everything* they do. - Jake Russo
social thing didn't work for me (literally seemed broken) and I haven't been back lately.now I am wondering if it is time to check it out. Oh, and twittering by proxy is still twittering. - Seek Ground
I have to say that I use FF more than Socialthing, but the latter is a MUCH cooler tool. - Tamar Weinberg
friendfeed became much much more valuable when it became an alert thingy air stream, so when will they acquire it, they have the dough, they need the technology ala seesmic/twhirl air.lifestream arms race! - ben barren via Alert Thingy
I use both FF and ST. And what I really want is actually a combination of both. - Araceli
Social Thing doesn't have any advantages that are helpful over FF - and it is all about the social graph - more people are here... - Tony via Alert Thingy
Agreed with Sarah Perez. No twitter means no twitter! And no, I don't use socialthing as much as FriendFeed, by a long shot. But I don't think the two services have the same goals, either. - J. Phil
No answer is correct. If it were FriendFeed, you couldn't click out to any of the URLs, or see the Flickr thumbnails in full view. It'd be a constant tease. Using Twitter would let you chat, but about what? You couldn't go anywhere. Nice try. - Louis Gray
Jeremiah i find the answer! You are a founder of a new web site like ONEwebsite.com. :D Or web 2.0 mission will be complete when we will have a web site like in your question! - Erhan Erdogan
