it might be your mouse driver. logitech and MS's mouse drivers are known for doing dumb shit and they have all kinds of hacky workarounds for FF and IE. I'd say get rid of them regardless of whether you use chrome or not.

trackpads on the other hand, while their drivers suck, you often lose the ability to scroll at all when you uninstall it.

Yes, I have a Logitech mouse and the scroll wheel isn't working on Chrome. Sorry, Michael, I've been pretty happy with my mouse up to now - and it's worked on everything else I've thrown at it - so I'm not ditching it for Chrome. :)

We checked out our entire office here this evening. About a dozen different laptops of various brands with trackpads (and a trackpoint nub--need to fire that guy...), and various mice. No issues except for one guy who couldn't track UP on his pad. Down worked fine. *shrug*

I've got exactly the same issue on my work PC: Windows XP Professional + Dell mouse.
