Cause a bitch was in a bad mood this weekend after...well, he met a bad kisser. :(
- Derrick
bad kissing is the worst. THE. WORST.
- Mary Carmen
I like the sex plenty. but there's something very awesome about a good makeout session. And not to toot my own horn, but i've been told that I am somewhat gifted in this area. but maybe they were just being nice. but my ex girlfriend told me that I should teach a college course in making out. so i got that going for me....which is nice.
- Morgan Haley
my one source of makeouts doesn't like to kiss (beyond a quick smooch on the lips) anymore. not since she got pregnant with our first child...in late 2004. :(
- Joe Silence
I miss the days of hot makeout sessions and heavy petting. It's like as adults we just kind of zoom right past it and head for the sex as quickly as possible. I would be more than content to just make out with a guy for hours on end. It's hard to find a guy who agrees (and is also attracted to me LOL)

If I could remember doing either of those things, I'd offer an opinion. But, despite my three children, I no longer have any clear recollection of either activity.
- Mark "DerBingle" J
how can it be hot if it doesn't lead to sex?
- Loc
lol....sorry Zamms, I don't have any plans to make that kind of announcement.
- Mary Carmen
Actually I freaked out Haggis, Victor Ganata, and Gunny last night by saying that I'd be happy if I could have both wang and boobs on the same person.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
there was, clearly, a lot of talking, too. I'm considering cleaning up my notes and posting them with it, since it doesn't do much good to only give half the info.
- Jenica
I hope you give this one again. Often. It needs to be heard in many, many places.
- D0r0th34
Using myself as the primary source material for a presentation was scary and fun. :) I had a good time, and I'd be happy to do this one again.
- Jenica
huh. First time I did this one, and I guess I'm surprised y'all are liking it so much. Nifty.
- Jenica
Well, it just encapsulates so much of the thinking I've done about online presence and the inevitable overlap of personal and professional. Doesn't really answer any of the questions or offer solutions, but poses those questions in ways that are clear, challenging, and also somehow reassuring.
- Catherine Pellegrino
Catherine, thank you! that's really interesting, and kind.
- Jenica
I would like to see those notes, btw, Jenica, if it's not TOO much trouble.
- D0r0th34
I will try to make the notes presentable tomorrow, or just upload the whole .ppt instead of a .pdf.
- Jenica
My mom called me from hospice tonight and put Nannie on the phone. She remembered who I am and said she can't wait to see me!!!! This makes me so happy I could cry. Maybe it will be a Happy Thanksgiving.
I already sent mine out. The best part is that only one was unsolicited - the other 7 were responses to direct requests. Things are picking up on Wave!
- Daniel J. Pritchett
As soon as I get invites, I'll invite y'all.
- cecily
Uh, "desperate" as in "not that desperate as to be begging for an invite" not "not so desperate as to take an invitation freely offered by Cecily." :)

Ah, what I miss by not being on Twitter--another statement that, if questioned a year from now, will be met with "but nobody ever said that..."
- Walt Crawford
Joey Digits -- isn't that a Sopranos character?
- John Dupuis
Apparently I was lacking in drama this week or something. I can't wait to see how this shakes out. (I giggle every time I think that not selecting a book betrays the purpose of libraries and probably makes Alexandria weep into its ashes.)
- Imitation lris
*sigh* It is as I'd feared. The new comment's IP address indicates a VPN from the book author's institution. Oops. Forgot to log out after reading the email I'd sent him, it seems.
- Imitation lris
Bravo!! Excellent job responding quickly to them. Hope you get some great feedback from the students
- Abigail
I love the part about semaphore and smoke signals.
- Liam Sullivan
Jenica, I'm going to make bold to ask for a follow-up post. You are Head of Libraries. You answer to the Provost, who presumably has many more things to worry about than chalk on sidewalks. So, serious question: if your Head of Public Service (presuming you have such a position) had done this without consulting you, what would you have thought, said, and done? What if it had been a rank-and-file reference librarian?
- D0r0th34
Yeah, whatever, Jenica. I'm headed for Queen of the Universe. We might have to fight it out.
- ÉllbeeÇee
LBC, we can tag-team it and assign duties to Christa. :)
- Jenica
Well, I often want to claim "Queen of the World"
- RudĩϐЯaЯïan
awesome. We always need someone for Other Duties As Assigned. :)
- ÉllbeeÇee
I'm pretty happy with Web Goddess. I think I'll be keeping it. Though I'd be happy to start assigning duties to Christa!
- Webgoddess
I'm the gooey, cheesy topping that makes the library pizza taste sooooo gooooood.
- ǎňňǎ
If you don't think being a Walmart Greeter makes me a Unique Individual, then you're stupid. Good Day.
- Kaia Olatunde-Glassmeyer
@owlie - erm. You didnt have a corner on the market of using that phrase - it appears quite often. In recent application letters I've seen, even. You can call yourself whatever you want :)
- Archangel ωαřмaiden
Pretty funny stuff - but what a brutal question to be asked. She handled it pretty well, and as usual Vork can always be counted on for the laughs.
- Dean "Karnatos" Michaud
That was VERY rude, but... hilarious. LMAO.
- Dani Figueiredo
Wow, LOL doesn't even begin to cover your reaction.
- ChiliMac
I found this more disturbing than LOL. The question was hostile, and put you in a nasty spot, which you handled as well as you could. ("You'll never know" was great.) I wish one of the guys onstage had shut the questioner down.

Every season has its Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. This season DYWDMA is it. Enjoy it. And come out of the water before you wrinkle.
