I reshare this to Ideas & Inspiration room :) These are so realistic!
- Kristian Salonen
I'm sorry but this is unbelievable:) I'll give credit to the artist upon more convincing proof! The photogenic look of the tiger and lion really helps the artist's case though:)
- Roney Smith
I'm with Roney... I find this hard to believe... or maybe I'm just jealous that I can't even get stick people right!
- Jasmin Smith
you cannot win on the interwebs. draw some crap it doesn't get noticed. draw something amazing in pencil and people say it's not real.
- Joe Breen
I'm really happy everyone liked these. They're my most liked entry to date, Thanks! There also seems to be some question about whether these are actually Pencil Drawings.I can assure you that they are. When I get home, I should have the links. I have more drawings, too.
- Michael Fidler
from fftogo
Thanks Enrique, I'll post some more soon. They are a little more obvious than these ones. As Luke points out; without being able to look closely it's impossible to tell. He's right; but up close it's more obvious. I'll upload the originals to Picasa later, and then you'll be able to zoom in with any photo viewer and see for yourselves. I can't believe how many people liked these. A few people have reposted them already. Thanks!
- Michael Fidler
Absolutely awesome, Michael. You are extremely talented. Everyone should repost these pix and help to make you famous. You should be doing this full time - you obviously have some passion for this. Bravo.
- Chris Loft
These are really beautiful, Michael. Do you sell them?
- Shannon Jiménez
Chris, I would love to say they're mine, but it's not true. I've had them for a while, but I'll find the artists names. It will just require a little backtracking. Besides, they deserve the credit; all I did was find them:-)
- Michael Fidler
Cut the bullshit! :) Photos are very good.
- Burçak Çubukçu
I draw alot in pencil, but they are amazing, the best for me is the girl, that is the most photo-like one. :o)
- Rob Sellen :o)
I agree Rob, the girl is amazing. My favorite by far! Wait until you see it close up! It's really had to tell, even up close!
- Michael Fidler
Burçak Çubukçu If these were photographs, they would be very good. As Pencil Drawings,(which they are), they're amazing.
- Michael Fidler
@Burçak Çubukçu I can't tell if your serious now or just kidding around. I hope your just having fun! If you are serious, I've never given you a reason to question my integrity, nor do I ever intend to. However, the second set is up now, so judge them for yourself, but don't judge me! http://ff.im/1BJh5 BTW, I messed up and reposted the shot of the women again. Oh well. Hope you like them:-)
- Michael Fidler
@Michael: try deviantART, not Picasa, to submit your artworks
- LouCypher
WOW "I can't believe it's in pencil"
- sofarsoShawn
LouCypher, I know it well, but I don't see why I would want to do that. I hope everyone knows by now that they're not mine? I'm sorry, but I can't say it any clearer than that.
- Michael Fidler
nah, i don't believe it is done in pencil. i am sure it is photoshopped :)
- hasin hayder
I'm finding this both interesting and humorous at the same time. There's a separate message board where this post is being discussed and it has another forty comments on it already. I think its great how this has created some lively discussion, considering that when I posted this I was doubtful if anyone would even like it. When I went to sleep last night there was only had 3 or 4 likes...

- Michael Fidler
Very interesting. I would like to see them up close and in person...just to make sure. Bill said it's real and possible. Your 2nd set of picts look like pencil. Nice work in finding these!
- LaFern Cusack
Kol, I can't thank you enough! Kol found another post which helps to prove that these are done in pencil. I had my doubts about a few of them because I collected them from several different sites over time, but the site Kol found has done a great job pulling together an impressive collection of these drawings and more. Take a look - http://www.flickzzz.com/2009...
- Michael Fidler
Actually there are more than what this site shows. There's an entire set with the cats(little cats), which I have, and there's a new portrait set.
- Michael Fidler
Found your post here, Michael. :-) I tried my best to find the artists.
- Kol Tregaskes
Amazing and very very very good.... Very impressive ...
- Linda Zeek-Bobinski
Yeah we know, thanks though, James. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Excellent pictures - how long did it take you to scan the photographs into Photoshop and then edit them? The only pencil that has come into contact with these "drawings" is the Photoshop pencil. A tip - stop trying to fool people into thinking you are a "real" artist, because all you are doing is cheapening proper artist's works whom have spent hours creating real pictures as opposed to a few minutes on a graphics editing package.
- The Wimp
A bell does ring here. And I am remembering why I was so attracted to the tiger...and the lion for that matter. These are exact replicas of prints I had in our bedroom when I lived in Dallas. I had bought the prints (in color) at a department store,
- Melanie Reed
Actually, I have learned quite a bit about these drawing since I made this post. Not only have I discovered all of the artists, but I've learned more about how they are created. They are always copied from a photograph or painting, but usually a photograph. It is extremely time consuming and detail orientated work. There are many other artists besides the ones featured here who practice...
- Michael Fidler
Most of them have portfolio's on deviantart.com and their work is truly amazing even if they are copies of other artists work. I suppose with this level of detail, they have to start with something. Nevertheless, I'm still in awe of their talent. Melanie, the animal prints you refer to are from a very well renowned photographer. The originals are B&W I'll look it up later but I do have...

"The Volkswagen Microbus is a classic - even to those of us born after its time. Arguably unlike the newly remade Beetle, this remake of a VW classic is remarkably true to the original on the outside - but on the inside it is a bio-diesel hybrid stuffed full of high tech gadgetry and eco-friendly innovations."

Super cool VW Bus making a comeback...
- Walt Ruppar
First of all, I'll cop to wanting one of these. That being said, Jason is right. This is for rich hippies (who probably aren't hippies at all). The VW microbus became the darling of the Flower Power crowd because it was cheap, easy to repair, and big. You could camp in it. Is there a car today that fits this bill?
- Chris Baskind
wow, you can buy an awful lot of pot with $129,000.
- Thomas Hawk
I don't know a self-respecting hippie that would prefer this over a really nice indoor greenhouse. ;-)
- Chris Baskind
@Chris, Most cars today aren't as simple, but with the wealth of knowledge online, it just takes more time. The minivan/SUV can become a camper van with a few mods. They'll never take the place of the VW, but they're an updated version of the 70s panelvan conversions (hopefully without shag carpeting & a disco-ball).
- Steven Cains
Nope: there will never be anything that simple again. That's not all bad: I can't imagine a 1960s VW Minibus would satisfy *any* federal safety standard these days. You're right. A used minivan might be the closest thing.
- Chris Baskind
Very Cool. You can't drive your house but, you can sleep in your Van !!!
- Eric Logan
Very intriguing. How much steel is in that thing? Chris, that would be my next question after fuel consumption: how safe is this thing? And I agree, when we can go back to making transportation that costs less than a small home, we may have achieved something amazing. ;)
- Melanie Reed
However, I have heard (and I'm not remembering where at the moment) that there has been a movement growing of people seeking alternative housing and substituting things like this as the new "mobile" home.
- Melanie Reed
Everyone is loving this! We should have an FF one and use it to travel to all the FFers around the World (like Pea seems to be doing ;-)). Hehe. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
cool idea, kol. the ff-stream of this tour would be alltheawe. just imagine the photos.
- esther ♥ ♫
I've owned 5 VWs, two of which were split window vans. I'd love to have another, this is awesome!
- Rick Bucich
from twhirl
I have had more VWs than other cars...starting with a 71 Superbeetle, and a Split Window Microbus. I would LOVE to have something like this.
- Kreg Steppe
Good for grandparents to visit grandchildren and children through the European continent (or another one as well)...nomadism-revival!
- Isabelle Ayel
wow i posted this a while back and now can't seem to find it for some reason. friendfeed's search function really sucks!
- Cee Bee
So after reading this article yesterday, I found myself this evening in front of a local place that specializes in reconditioning old VWs. It was closed, but there's an awesome red and white microbus out front with a For Sale sign on it. Ugly, underpowered -- and probably dangerous, by modern standards. Want. ;-)
- Chris Baskind
Cee, really? I find FF search is pretty good.
- Kol Tregaskes
I love this Mobile...owned a few Vdubs, lived in a VW camper, but this is off the hook..I would become a true nomad with this...
- bcultral
I'd like to have something like this, something small. What do you really need? A bed, perhaps a TV and room for your computer. Then you can live anywhere you like, in theory.
- Kol Tregaskes
Who is this Canadian designer Alexandre Verdier? Seems like he is on Facebook, Linked In but I can't seem to find anything else about him.
- Brian Sullivan
We had a wesvalia built Micro when I was a kid. I loved that thing. It was a little flimsily built; but boy it was perfect for my family of campers and road-tripping warriors. Too bad this one is so pricey
- Bill Rawlinson
+Anne--Right about the time I forget about this, it shows up again. Too funny.
- Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
interesting. I've tried a few times to get animated images to work on FF without success.. I guess piping it through twitpic might be the answer!
- veo
veo, yeah Twitpic, RSS (MediaRSS), Delicious, Tumblr all seem to work. There are more than that but those come to mind.
- Josh Haley
Just one question, Josh: are you by chance spinning on 9 different Aeron chairs that were a steal after the first dot-com bubble burst? The future of the internets: you're looking at it =)
- Micah Wittman
could anybody describe how to create such a picture? thx
- Arnaud Fischer
Arnaud, see http://friendfeed.com/mokarga... for tips. And Josh correct me if I'm wrong, he uploaded to Twitpic the same animated GIF 9 times, then created a friendfeed post and attached all 9 images by URL (instead of choosing images from his hard drive). Images coming from twitpic, soup.io, etc will animate, but photos hosted by friendfeed itself won't.
- Micah Wittman
Did not sleep well with all the spinning. :p
- Josh Haley
from iPhone
It's infinitely more amusing when they don't all load at the same time. Spinning chaos!!!
- CAJ, somewhere else
Why the friendfeed limitation on animated .gifs? It seems arbitrary and odd to me. I could see wanting to limit filesize (animated .gifs can get large) but you can upload huge .jpgs without any trouble.
- veo
Mesmerizing like a lava lamp. Hey! You are a 'Lame-o Lamp'! And you might want to call the folks in the makeup department and get that forehead de-sheened. Remember, your forehead is an alternate landing site for the Space Shuttle - And you don't want to blind the crew on their final approach, do you? :-)
- Morgan Haley
Good luck trying to land anything on that while it's moving. :p I can always count on my brother.
- Josh Haley
OMG! That should be the next installment at some fluecy deucy art museum!!! AWESOME. :) It's like whack-a-mole... I keep trying to figure out which one will show your face next and for some reason I'm always wrong.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
Thanks, Lindsay! :) I think that's the first time someone described wanting to systematically hit me on the head repeatedly, yet have it come off as a compliment. I would love to take credit like I was Andy Warhol or something, but alas I was just tired and felt like doing something silly. :p
- Josh Haley
from iPhone
yep, what Lindsay said. That was one of the first bona-fide instances I've seen of using Friendfeed as a medium for net art. You could get in the Whitney & stuff. GOOD JOB
- Kamilah Gill
LOL! I actually didn't mean it the way it came out (the hitting you on the head part, the compliment part is ok ;)). But I'm in tears laughing when I read your reply. Whack-a-mole always frustrated the heck out of me... I did a lot more staring than hitting when I tried to play. It was mesmerizing.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
you wait - the scary part of this comes when one of these ffoodoo heads stops turning, starts grimmacing and talking to you ..... have you seen one of these heads actually get up off the chair and curse the world??? ... the seeming dissynchronicity, the haphazard discord with which these dollheads turn might drive you ...nuts

2. I had Post Natal Depression after my first child was born. I barely remember the first 11 weeks of his life. No one listened when I said something was wrong ... I was told I had sleep deprivation. Eventually I met someone who helped me.
- Penny
3. After my 3rd child was born I started getting PND again but thankfully recognised the signs and got help before it got worse.
- Penny
4. Up until about 2 years ago I hated the way I looked and hated getting in photos. Even now, unless I take the photo I hate to be the subject, but I'm getting better :)

5. Turning 30 was the best thing that ever happened to me.
- Penny
6. I have 4 tattoos. I got the first when I was 19. I love them and have never for a second regretted them. Hopefully number 5 is not far off. All of them are concealable though so not many people know I have them ;)
- Penny
You make a great photo subject. Glad to hear you seeing the light!
- cjmart
7. In the REAL world I am quite the extrovert ... here, online, I can be very shy until you get to know me
- Penny
8. My dad has 4 other kids from a previous relationship to my mum. I don't speak to any of them any more (1 I haven't even met). My 1/2 sister and I used to be very close but she rejected me (scared of losing loved ones, she claimed)
- Penny
9. I travelled to Las Vegas and LA last year. It was my first trip overseas and I went ALL BY MYSELF. I am very proud of myself for doing that.

10. Here's a cheeky one: I've had sex on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Great Australian Bight. Breathtaking, literally! lol
- Penny
11. I've smoked pot but never taken any other drugs. I've done enough stupid things from drinking alcohol let alone getting messed up on anything else!
- Penny
12. I moved to Perth when I was 20. Spent 12 years there. I feel like that is where I truly grew up. I miss it every day and love it desperately. I am stoked that my kids were born there as it means we will always have a connection to our old home
- Penny
13. I am first generation Australian and it pisses me off royally when people talk of not letting refugees into Australia. My mum was a refugee.
- Penny
14. My dad, although having lived in Australia for 50 years is still a British citizen. This means I have dual citizenship. So does my husband.
- Penny
15. I married when I was 19. So did my Granny. My mum was 20.

@cjmart, thank you! @Mark, I know, I'm odd like that! But it's true, even now I feel shy doing this online. @Randy *bows* ;)
- Penny
17. I have a big dark secret that not many people know about. Something happened when I was 17. Told my mum and she didn't believe me. Pretty much kept quiet after that. It made me a stronger person though.
- Penny
18. I am a denim junkie. I have 22 pairs of denim jeans and 4 denim minis. I like good jeans and will pay a lot of money for them. The most expensive pair I have was $400. Most were around $200.

- Penny
20. After 12 years of marriage we finally FINALLY have our own home. At the moment we are also mortgage free. At 32, this is one of my proudest moments.
- Penny
21. When I was 17, I was on a 9 day trek across Tasmania and I said to my bestie 'my cat just died'. When I got home, I found out that he had indeed died, and on that day. He was 13 and I had had him since he was a kitten.
- Penny
22. I used to be quite a good photographer. Some of my work is framed around the house. Some of it is actually quite good. I seem to have lost the knack for it. I want to take it back up.
- Penny
23. I love that my job is giving me opportunities to travel. It's my dream come true. After 4 1/2 years looking at the same 4 walls and conversing in baby talk, this is good for me. I do miss my youngest (sophie 10 months) desperately.
- Penny
24. I go red really easily. I hate it. A lot. In fact I think I've gone red doing this list. If I drink red wine I go REALLY red. Luckily for me my favourite alcoholic drink is Veuve. I don't go red drinking Veuve :D
- Penny
@FarZad oh I have way more shoes than that. They're just the good ones. LOL

eek... Does Carmen know about this? :\
- Mona Nomura
o hai! :) thx for the fave and the post Russell! thanks Susan and Mark ;) Comments and such when I first published the photo: http://friendfeed.com/e...
- Carmen
@Mona if Carmen had it put into public view, why on Earth she should bother about knowing? and probably she won't hear anything negative -- after all, she maid such a leap forward!
- A.T.
congrats and now i think, 'gosh, i could have lost 30lbs since jan.'. instead i converted a lot of my muscle into fat. which was hard, but so not fulfilling.

Wow, great job. She even looks a little younger too!

so carmen...umm.,,what are you doing this friday night? maybe you and i can...you know....exchange cooking recipes here on friendfeed or something.
- Cee Bee
thanks so much for the wonderful comments, everyone! I'm getting closer to my goal and it's so exciting! my new lifestyle has made this a wonderful year. so, cee... exchanging recipes... is that what they're calling it these days? ;) delicious. russell - hubby may be in class that night, so it may be just me. I'll ask a friend of mine who is starting photography school if she can make it out too.
- Carmen
you rock dude. I read encyclopedias too as a child. Read a set one summer after we moved.
- RAPatton
Hey Shey if you get that #23 super power working, then I want one that is like krytonite to my dog's breath :)
- Patrick Jordan
Anyone read those ChildLife books? I loved them as a kid. I'd read encyclopedias, too, but not back-to-back. When I ran out of my books, I'd find my mother's, no matter where she hid them. Seems she didn't think Sidney Sheldon, Erica Jong and Danielle Steel were appropriate for a preteen. Ok, I'm exaggerating; I actually found Jong boring. Zipless? WTF?
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
Thanks for not being too freaked out y'all -- FFers are teh awesomest!
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Freaked out? You so silly, Shey. Your list made me smile almost as much as the picture on your site of you and your wife. You cool peeps. Even if you do cuddle during football. HA!
- nakachi
Sorry, Shey. I was just pulling up some of these old 25 Things lists. Maybe new users can learn some things from old-timers like you. :)

- Mo Kargas
Mo, this is awesome. Some of the stuff I picked up on (robots, and fitness), but didn't know about your family history. I'd love to hang out with you in person. :)

- Fa La La La Lindsay
@directeur Roman origins, perhaps that's where the surname has come from
- Mo Kargas
Australian AND Welsh, how unlucky can you get? j/k ;) All these 25 lists are weird because I keeping finding about 10 of them are the same as me. Perhaps my FF circle projects my lifestyle more than I thought.

Dude, i'm SO WITH YOU on #23! Oh BTW, i was glad you didn't mention Fallout 3 in your list because if you did, i was going to hide your post, unsub from you and THEN block you....but lucky for you, crisis averted! HAHA! just playin, great list man!

Great List, Mo! :-) Oh yeah, #17, not so weird...I'm in the club too.

@Anna, I'm not pessemistic when it comes to it, it simply hasn't occurred yet, and I'm content to wait till it happens or doesn't whatever the case.

26. I am 1st kyu in Heiwa-do karate. I've also studied various other martial arts, but never formally.

27. Everything thinks I am very organized, but I generally see clutter everywhere or things that need organization.

35. My father and I have been unsuccessful in getting my mother to ever use a computer in any fashion outside of a very recent cell phone purchase.

38. My oldest memory is actually from the womb. I remember visiting Disney World and Sea World, though the color is mostly green and I think the images were reproduced from sounds. My mom didn't know she was pregnant yet. My second oldest memory was soon after I learned to crawl. I climbed out of my crib, scaled the side of it, crawled to the living room, turned on the TV, and vegged out.

- xero
@Marco - I kept trying things out and either hated most of it or just wasn't happy with it. I did research into cologne and body chemistry, then managed to pick out a cologne from ingredients and description, bought it and it was perfect. I've never bothered to look back.

I thought number 12 said you were a Cheese Whiz, i think thats as impressive as chess whiz actually. thanks for sharing.
- Steve C
Helen - I've often been mistaken for rude or unfriendly because I am quite shy and quiet when I first meet people, so I understand completely. All it usually takes is one thing in common and I'll talk your ear off, though. :D
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
I think, at that age, I didn't know better, and I think I would have rather been a Cheese Whiz. :D
- Helen Sventitsky
2. I was in the radio business for 30 years, both on-air and as a Programmer. It was fun.

The Crab Pulsar, a city-sized, magnetized neutron star spinning 30 times a second, lies at the center of this remarkable image from the orbiting Chandra Observatory. The deep x-ray image gives the first clear view of the convoluted boundaries of the Crab's pulsar wind nebula. Like a cosmic dynamo the pulsar powers the x-ray emission. The pulsar's energy accelerates charged particles, producing eerie, glowing x-ray jets directed away from the poles and an intense wind in the equatorial direction. Intriguing edges are created as the charged particles stream away, eventually losing energy as they interact with the pulsar's strong magnetic field. With more mass than the Sun and the density of an atomic nucleus, the spinning pulsar itself is the collapsed core of a massive star. The stellar core collapse resulted in a supernova explosion that was witnessed in the year 1054. This Chandra image spans just under 9 light-years at the Crab's estimated distance of 6,000 light-years.

If you check the "Labs" tab in Gmail settings, you'll notice the Back to Beta option: "Soothes the soul by putting the familiar beta sticker back on the Gmail logo."
- Amir Gharaat
That is pretty bad if you can't cope without the beta label!
- Mark O'Neill
Yay for GMail! I wonder how I lived without it, after using many inferior e-mail services over the years, before receiving an invitation from a friend in India, registering and forgetting about it for ages, before making it the only e-mail service I use.

Heh, is the "Back To Beta" option in Beta itself? ;)

"The secret world of dreams has been unlocked with the invention of technology capable of illustrating images taken directly from human brains during sleep. A team of Japanese scientists have created a device that enables the processing and imaging of thoughts and dreams as experienced in the brain to appear on a computer screen. While researchers have so far only created technology that can reproduce simple images from the brain, the discovery paves the way for the ability to unlock people's dreams and other brain processes. A spokesman at ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories said: "It was the first time in the world that it was possible to visualise what people see directly from the brain activity."

the imaging of thoughts is kind of a staple of science fiction, which i've always thought had no basis in reality... until now. [dramatic chord] seems like they are only doing simple, high-contrast shapes and letterforms (e.g. http://www.cns.atr.jp/dcn...) but yeah someone is probably working on a Sony DreamCatcher that will be able to record 4 hours of dreams in HD MPEG-4 :-D
- Karim
You're "seeing" something somewhere when you're dreaming, so it seems like there ought to be some way to capture that "input", wherever it's coming from in the brain. Though I guess it's hard to even show what another person sees through his or her eyes, not just what a camera looking at the same things sees... Is it kind of like that, maybe? a camera looking at the same thing you see in your dream?
- Kamilah Gill
more discussion of this here: http://friendfeed.com/e... i'm not sure if you can characterize it in terms of "input" or "output..." there's apparently some spot in the visual cortex where the neurons have the same spatial relationship as what you see -- i.e. if the white dot you see is "up and to the left," then the neurons firing will also be "up and to the left" relative to the other neurons.
- Karim
So okay, it sort of sounds like they're translating the signals that the brain sends when it forms an image. I'll have to spend more time finding out about it later (though, as usual, I probably never will get the chance to sit down and focus on this one topic). How do you know about so much, Karim? I've been curious.
- Kamilah Gill
Kamilah :-D thanks... but i'm not sure i "know" how to answer that question ;-)
- Karim
An accurate title would be "Researchers develop software that can map signals currently arriving from the optic nerve, and speculate that someday advances might possibly lead to mapping dreams". But I guess they only had space for the inaccurate title.

Conventional logic holds that people don't carry baseballs around with them. Conventionally, would you think a person with pockets full of baseballs as "normal"? Do you carry everything you own in case you have to logically prove to someone that you own it in the event that some conventional debate arises?

Are you familiar with "Russell's Teapot?" : "If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion...

I've never known a christian to react like that when someone asks to prove Gods existence. If someone is sincerly asking the question we'll usually talk about why we believe. If someone is being hostile I'll walk away.
- ChiliMac
ChiliMac, on a serious note, it's really dependent on the parties conversing. I've openly had many discussions on religion. It's also helpful to comprehend the other party's(ies') views and backgrounds, to have amicable discussions. :)
- Mona Nomura
Mona: You are absolutely right, it does depend on the parties. I believe most people still know how to and are polite and respectful of one another. I was having this conversation with a friend from my church the other night. His roommate had criticized him for reading books by Dawkins. We disagreed with him. We should understand those who have different opinions then ours and be respectful to one another.
- ChiliMac
could also be titled "conventional logic vs evolutionist logic" or "conventional logic vs global warming logic". i see more unfounded dogma from these two groups than any other.
- Brooks Bayne
Yeah, Brooks... or "conventional logic vs. round Earth logic," or "conventional logic vs. heliocentric solar system logic." I'm sick of dogmatic round-Earth liberals! If the Earth is so round, why don't Australians fall into space? Eh? Answer that secular libs!
- Christopher A Carr
Definitely something Richard Dawkins would approve of! :) And @ChristopherCarr - the Celestial Teapot was the first thing I thought of when I saw this.

Green homes are becoming an increasingly popular trend, with eco-friendly dwellings - from apartment buildings to monstrous mansions - popping up all over the world. Unsurprisingly, America’s got the largest of them (we are expecting Dubai to catch up any time now, though). The fact that an unnecessarily large space isn’t very environmentally friendly hasn’t stopped legions of builders and homebuyers from snapping up properties as large as 15,000 square feet. Many have attempted to make up for the excess square footage by piling on as many green features as possible, from solar panels and geothermal heating and cooling systems to low-VOC finishes and sustainable flooring. Whether or not you agree that you can “have it all” and still be eco-friendly, the parade of ridiculously oversized green homes isn’t likely to stop any time soon.
