@monkchips I would curious to see how all of the other micro-kernel or real-time OS types are reacting to ChromeOS: cheers or jeers?

The more effort put towards open source projects, the better, right?

That depends on how they handle the fork. Will they be very open to downstream/upstream patch sharing like Canonical is with Debian or will it take months to years to get anything accepted? Are they working with an existing OS that has patent encumberances because of the hardware being targetted? What OS license will it be under? A lot more questions than facts right now - but that seems to be the Google way lately.
