The FriendFeed accent challenge! Make a video of yourself saying the following sentence "I like to glaze my salmon with orange sauce, mixed with a little water, and then I eat it in the car. Does that sound nasty to you?" Then post it on FF and tag it with the #FFAccentChallenge tag. Please?
I recorded it using quicktime and then ported into iTunes to make an mp3. I'm sure there are more direct ways but it worked for me.

Like I said, quicktime -> iTunes -> save as mp3.

Or garageband -> share -> Export song to disk-> compress->MP3

I recorded it as sound recording (mov, for some reason) on Quicktime, but the iTunes option was greyed out. I was able to Save As iPhone (Cellular), which gave me a .3gp, which FF accepted.

MoTO: I don't see any advanced options in my QT. It could be because I have a slightly older Mac and can't update QT any further (10.0).

One thing I noticed is that people put emphasis on different parts of the phrases. That made for interesting pronunciation and intonation I think.

I was going to record myself doing this but then I decided not to and the only reason why I'm making this comment is because I want everyone to know about my hesitation and then hopefully a number of people will rise up and rally around this uncertainty and cheer me on to do a recording so that I can feel validated as a human being because without FriendFeed I'd be a worthless shell of person and, well, I might have to eat more food than I already do to make up for this gross lack of people who have never met me fawning over me. Also, I have cats. Don't try this at home: I'm a FriendFeed professional.
- Akiva
I have a Long Island accent like Mary Carmen and Rebecca
- VALZ/TEAM TRAVIS
I don't hear MC's Long Island like I hear Rebecca's. It may be because MC has been away a while?

I worked hard to not have it. Though when I am backon LI with friends and family it comes back.
- Mary Carmen
Caught up listening. Also: Akiva, come on. I did it and I'm at least as horrified at the thought of my voice being heard or my picture being seen as you are.
