@pluc it is completely insane. we can clearly ear 2 to 3 competing musicians, plus street noise, plus loud car music...
street musicians are great, when you pass by them. listening for more than 15 min is really annoying, they play tune fragments over & over

r @slimcode then, the problem is not paid vs free, it's distribution.
r @Kosmatos boggus example, you're deciding what's best for the users. competition. if u make a product worth paying for, people will pay.
r @Kosmatos @slimcode how can low quality shareware + opensource "hurt" the paid market? isn't it their job to make it worth paying for it?
I disagree, lack of vision - RT @pauldawalibi: Best article on Google's Chrome OS by far. Finally some sense.: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009...

I'm running & using Windows XP & Vista, Linux, OSX (Mac & iPhone), NetBSD and I can't wait to see how Chrome OS will shape up.
looking at the reactions about Chrome Os, its funny to see how so many people are defensive and hostile about the very idea of it.
I think Google has the potential to pull off/innovate with a usable, practical real web-based OS and shift away from bloatware like Windows
@darrelmiller i have no intention of using WPF or MFC, Swing, etc... I might use Cocoa for iPhone, but would rather use stuff like PhoneGap
@darrelmiller it is difficult to express nuance in 140 chars, but I also think that the web app model does not fit for all apps contexts
@darrelmiller html+css+js is by far more flexible & efficient to build rich ui. native ui does have its share of bad designs.
"the browser is the new OS" is already a reality. Chrome OS is Google's excellent move to push this further. Great stuff!
I love going to my son's football practice... I can serial-tweet! tonight is particularly fertile for #flame and #troll :)
@sanssucre I don't remember the last time Oracle showed up in my own crystal ball... meh
@sanssucre that could have been an interesting guess 4 yrs ago but today it is simply not true. do your research.
@fmarceau when i was with Softimage/MS in the 90's Bill G. sent an email "the Net is the bet" IIRC. They confused that with .Net I guess ;)
