My wedding tip #3: Schedule the honeymoon to happen at least a week after the wedding. Invariably either the bride and/or groom get sick right after the wedding and going to your honeymoon while sick is totally counterproductive to actually having the honeymoon in the first place.

Tip #2 was Do yourself a favor and hire a wedding planner/manager...even if they only help you on the rehearsal dinner/wedding day. For most people, a wedding will be 10 times more stressful without a knowledgeable planner guiding the process. They know the vendors and what they will and won't do and you don't.

I followed #1 but I'm planning to leave for the honeymoon right after the wedding if possible and I doubt I'm hiring a planner. My sister and her husband went on their honeymoon a week after their wedding and he ended up sick the entire time anyway. I hope you get over your cold before your honeymoon, though!

regarding tip #3: Although I think it's wise in general, this would have backfired big time for me. We went on our honeymoon immediately after the wedding and had a great time. The day after we got back, I woke up sicker than I'd ever been before.

And part of #3 should be: Unless it's some place local, don't drink the water. This also means no ice in your drinks, no salad, no fountain sodas, or anything in which the local water supply will get into your body without being sterilized first. You are used to the organisms that are present in your local water supply. What is in a different region may not match what you are used to....

Robert, that risk is with everything you do online, which is why you can't use that for an excuse. If you want a backup, put it on disk somewhere, which is what Cinch allows you to do. At least it automates the distribution for you though.

Have Rackspace set up a script that reads the RSS from cinch and stores each file on a backup somewhere. Or trust Cinch to do that. Or do it manually. RSS is the most basic form of distribution so you can do what you want with it.

Twitter works great for public figures who engage generously with their followers like yourself, though I wonder if that works as well for career network marketers with 15k+ followers. Shepherds have been known to be used. For my own kids, we called some by phone then emailed the balance of people. Of course I eagerly updated the baby pool website (http://bebepool.com <--100% bias for me to mention that, btw) to see whose predications were closest. But, all of these are old school methods, I'm sure you'll come up with something creative. :)

I showed a room which also imported my @mentions. On a seperate page I chose to show only tweets by me using this Yahoo Pipe http://bit.ly/3EDpa (which was not imported realtime by FriendFeed). If I had to do it over I'd look into a mobile client for FriendFeed and use that solely.

Learn to use Block and to delete comments on your own items. FriendFeed is already set up for decentralized spam-fighting with those two features. We're just not used to having to use them. If we hit back hard when the spam influx comes, they'll give up. They aren't stupid, just greedy.

I haven't seen spam be much of a problem on FF yet. If it does become a problem, I think a public feed should have the option to only allow subscribers to comment on threads.

Luckily, Mitch, it's super easy to deal with spam on FF. Report the user here http://friendfeed.com/friendf... and then block the user so you never have to see them. It works a charm, and the FF staff is very quick to remove spam accounts.

Well, we can help take care of each other in a way. When you report a spammer to the room, cross post that item to your main feed. That will let everyone that follows you know to block that person so they won't see them while we wait for FF to remove them.

yes absolutely. i am still using the original iPhone, which I have to say still works great for being two years old. I didn't see that much of an advantage to upgrading when the first 3G came out, but now there seems to be enough new features that it makes it worth it.

@Jandy AT&T's upgrade policy is no different than any other cell carrier's policy, in making you wait 2 years before upgrading for a greatly reduced price. I am excited that they're subsidizing at all actually; when I bought my original iPhone there wasn't any subsidizing and I paid full-price *and* was locked into a 2-year contract. If you ask me, their policy now is a lot better than it was then.

Tyler - you are just flat out wrong. A jailbroken iPhone won't have: autofocus camera (of higher quality), builtin compass, be ready for next gen data networks (up to 7mps), have a faster processor & better battery. I'm upgrading from a 1st gen so the diff is big if I had a 3G it might be closer

Unfortunately, I just bought two iPhone 3Gs....so I'm going to wait a while. It seems every time I purchase an Apple product, they drop the price soon thereafter. Which is okay -- since I'm willing to overpay for Apple products but not pay discount for anything Microsoft at this point.

I don't really know who is right, but I don't think that it's unreasonable to disclose that you were given something for free when making a recommendation about it. As matter of a fact, not disclosing it makes me question a persons integrity.

it wasn't FREE it was a 7-day review unit that he only asked for because he couldn't go wait in line for one. it was launched on saturday and leo does the radio show on saturday - therefore he reluctantly asked for a review unit - does that make sense?

Well since it wasn't free why get so angry? Arrington asked for Leo to make it clear to everyone that the unit was free. Wasn't free end of story. Obviously, there's prior issues between the 2 and I just think that it's weird all these people picking sides.

After watching a 2nd time I realized that Arrington pushed on with the FREE accusation even after Leo had said that the Pre wasn't free, That it was just a 7 day demo unit, and that he was thinking of buying one. My bad! I've heard that Arrington has since apologized though and that's a respectable thing to do.
