I think I may be starting to get old. I just saw a list titled "Old School Jams" and Fight The Power was on it. My first thought was "What? It just came out." My second was "Wait a minute, that was 1989." My third was "I think I may be starting to get old."
The saddest part of the death of @eric_martin is that if he were alive I know EXACTLY where he would be right now. Listening to me and @acomicbookgirl record our podcast. Now I'm sad again.
"Iverson was unhappy coming off the bench last season in Detroit and this season with the Grizzlies, so there isn't expected to be much interest in him."

"The Democratic-led U.S. Senate, having smashed through a Republican wall of opposition, confirmed on Thursday U.S. President Barack Obama's first and longest-stalled judicial nominee. On a vote of 59-39, the Senate approved Obama's bid to elevate U.S. District Judge David Hamilton of Indiana to the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana was the only Republican to vote for the judge's confirmation. Lugar called him "superbly qualified.""

My friend Eric Martin (host of the DC Noise, Comics Playground and The Trip podcasts) died yesterday of a heart attack. His family just announced it on his Facebook page or else I wouldn't be making this public announcement. http://www.facebook.com/ericlma...
It wasn't a very bad one. One glass of cool refreshing orange juice later and she's feeling fine. But she was dragging for about an hour.

If you don't spend part of it contemplating the pros and cons of suicide, it's not a true hangover.

She's a rookie. It was enough so that she won't be drinking any time soon.

Boiled in Lead's song "Puking in the Heather" is a good one for dealing with the awful choices in the fight it/give in dichotomy that can ensue.

This is the worst story I have read in a long time. For another bit of craziness, read the comment by melbrookes. To me, the mindset behind it is just as disturbing.

Just found out the company I usually do a special project for at the end of the year will be going out of business on December 31. That sucks. Not just for me because this would have been xtra money, not living on money but I feel for all of their regular employees who get one hell of a New Year's gift.
"One question is where to draw the line. You could think about obviousness. If a business process is truly new and innovative, then it might deserve a patent. If it's not particularly creative, but you're just the first one to think to patent it, then that's probably not going to fly."

Seems like the wrong direction. We should be moving towards having less patents, which are more often than not used to stifle innovation and competition, rather than foster it.
