Wow! Incredibly clear & powerful perspective on our modern life and what we can do about it. And written in 1932. I like this essay from start to finish, and this bit particularly, which also reminds me of Alan Watts: "The modern man thinks that everything ought to be done for the sake of something else, and never for its own sake." -
