"I think there is much more information on this topic, aside from what is being reported in the media, for the average general public to comment specifically on, apart from individual experience. However the main points and/or questions could be: 1. It is common for schools and programmes that cater for children with learning difficulties to simply focus on one language, however there are also many children who speak both languages fine but then also have ADD and learning type disabilities. 2. The opposing parties will always want hard data truth facts on the "effectiveness." This serves to strengthen their case against it. Children who are billingual are probably more likely to leave the province, therefore data on effectiveness is difficult to keep track of? 3. Teachers are stretched beyond limits teaching both lanuagues along with general curriculum. English schools have to also teach French on top of general studies. French schools have pressure from parents who want their kids to..."
