I never quite understood why fruitcakes got such a bad rap: they make good doorstops or paper weights. Gee, am I that strange that I love fruitcake? Well, I think I just found out why... all these years my Mom making fruitcake every year as a gift - she wasn't making 'fruitcake'...it's really a Christmas Date Loaf!!
