Like Hollywood, the game industry must demonstrate responsibility and continue to 'self regulate' before the state or federal government feels compelled to act.

Did 3rd workout today on EA Sports Active. It gives you a pretty good workout I think. Does a much better job than Wii Fit as it has actual workouts routines set up already and doesn't require the sensor board. Only complaint is that the nunchuk holster tends to slip down the leg as I run.
I'm about to test it out for the first time. Adrian said he's aching from the workouts, but he doesn't do much exercise anyway.
- Admiral Anika
Yeah, after the first two workouts I was pretty sore in my legs for a few days, but today was better

Are the workouts on either the Fit or the Active actually viable workouts? Or are they just slightly active games? I've unfortunately never seen either in action - they sell out within minutes of stocking up here and for obvious reasons they aren't used in floor model displays. I've always been curious as to what they're really like.
- Soup
Soup, they're workouts. The Wii Fit's downfall is that the workouts are in short bursts and it takes too long between modules. The EA Active seems to keep you moving and your heartrate up constantly. Oh, on the Wii Fit, the only time I break a sweat is when I'm doing the yoga modules and that's only if I have use my bad arm or weak leg for a pose.
- Admiral Anika
The workouts on Wii Active are viable workouts...I was totally sweating after my workout today. It isn't just a bunch of games. They make you run in place for a few minutes and then do a muscle training exercise or lunges or other stuff. It's 30 minutes of activity designed to keep your heart rate up and work your whole body.

Very interesting Anika and Alex. If I get either, I'll go for the Active.
- Soup
By the way, Soup, you can use the sensor board that you get with Wii Fit with EA Sports Active, although I haven't yet tried this and it hasn't been necessary. They do a very good job of using the sensors in the remote and nunchuck to tell what you are doing.
- Alex Scoble
The nunchuk is my biggest complaint about the game. The nunchuk in that position is extremely sensitive to certain movements (or has a lack of sensitivity in some cases) and the holder is not consistently comfortable - like continually always slipping down or off.
- Elizabeth Parmeter
Yeah, Elizabeth...I ended up getting skin tight workout pants because that's pretty much what the holster requires to not slip...well that and it needs to be put on TIGHT.
- Alex Scoble
I've discovered in most cases if I'm having trouble with it, I can just hold it in whatever position the game expects and still work out decently. Sometimes it's just easier than messing with the holder thing.
- Elizabeth Parmeter
No worries, Steve...Pics will not be forthcoming...at least until I'm looking like a model on a fitness commercial.
- Alex Scoble
I used the balance board on the 2 of the activities. It wasn't necessary, but gave a different level of the workout. But then I had to take my shoes on and off between exercises. The only time I had a problem with the nunchuk was doing the squats. I wore yoga pants, and while the band felt like it was slipping, it actually stayed in place.
- Admiral Anika
Maybe a garter belt will help with the slippage
- Rodfather
interesting...keep it up. is there multiplayer...er, workout?
- Ryan
Ryan, of course. You just purchase ($20) the additional leg band and resistant stretch band...or do without. I don't think they're 100% necessary.
- Admiral Anika
Yep, coopdog, two people can do the workout at the same time...we bought another kit to do this. The kit that Anika just talked about.

How's the 30 day challenge so far? I think I'll finally open it tonight.
