I'm not seeing how you come to the conclusion that any of the "old" filtering mechanisms are adequate after listening to this talk? He was talking about a structural failure in filtering that absolutely includes the inadequate filtering mechanisms of old. - Kevin Gamble

I can't remember now which speaker(s) in particular made the statement, but there were several references throughout our NFAIS event on Monday for scholars in the humanities that made reference to this quote and video. The ideas are beginning to percolate through the mainstream. - Jill O'Neill
