"I read it about eight months ago or so and was underwhelmed. And of course, as a woman, I found that there was a lot to be disappointed in the general attitudes of the men toward the female sex and relationships in general. I read up on his life and what went into writing the book so I had a broader picture--it was probably the only thing that made me keep reading. Mostly I just thought all the characters were selfish, sad and terribly unhappy underneath it all. Not my idea of a great read."

"We chose to hit up Scampo for our anniversary. Not really the best recommend for an occasion of that sort--it's better suited for bringing very chatty friends who don't mind yelling a bit to be heard.…"

Balloon boy pukes on camera and Meredith Vieira almost completely ignores it (until the producer must have said something in her ear). Strange on many levels.

"I was walking down Newbury in Boston today and saw some guy doing some half-hearted jumpstyling. He didn't have much pizazz considering he was dancing to the jazz band playing at JP Licks. Why are all the videos of guys doing this? Is it that the women all see the ridiculousness of it?"

crystallyn on I picked this up at a book drop in Cambridge and the accompanying photo was left inside. I'd like to think that the person who left it is pining for the woman in the photo, longing for her warm Kent and coffee scented embrace. If you're out there message me and I'll arrange to get your photo back. - http://www.reddit.com/r...

crystallyn on Hey Reddit, So I wrote to SEGA to ask if they would please grant me permission to keep my Golden Axe ROM. This was their response. - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"We don't really know if there is a difference in this case...if SEGA was still in the position to prosecute, maybe they would. Instead they just admitted that they couldn't--could be a legal way to say "we don't really care but need to legally say the right thing" or it could just be that...transparency by saying they can't afford to go after him. Who's to say?"

An excellent example of how individuals using social media have immense power to shape the future of brands--if the brand doesn't react swiftly and appropriately.

"We got spanked often, sometimes with the wooden spoon (one even broke!) and we turned out completely fine. My father would always threaten the belt, taking it off and making the horrifying snapping noise with it, but never used it. The threat was enough to make us immediately sorry for whatever we did. Throwing us in our room would never work because we would just play and forget we were in trouble. The threat of bodily harm always worked. But we never had lasting marks or couldn't sit down an hour later. There is definitely a point where it goes too far."
