Yes, at work because i have *cries* PC here, IE has proxys on it, so i use firefox to get to all the good sites i want :) - Simon Wicks
Yep. Have to for work. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
We have clients whose backends are only viewable in IE5. Makes me sick, I tell ya. - Anika Malone
Yes...but I also use Google Chrome & Firefox..but IE comes in the last place in order of usage. - Ahmed Naguib
Only use it for MediaSource since it won't run on any other browser - Steven Melfi
Yes, I use it frequently via the IE Tab extension in Firefox. I just set the sites I want to load in IE Tab and then forget about it. Works like a charm. - Jason Huebel

I have to use it at the school comp lab and if I use Blackboard for some reason it won't behave correctly in FF. I'm not sure if it's just some addon I have that is throwing a monkey wrench in the mix or what. So I have the IE tab addon and use that at home for Blackboard. - Mattie Kenny
I only use IE to test the Web sites I maintain to see what I have to fix to work in IE. (sigh). I'm the volunteer Webmaster for the Spaulding Wooden Boat Center in Sausalito. www.spauldingcenter.org - Rod Bauer via twhirl

@Mattie Kenny: my school also uses blackboard, but I can use 95% of it in firefox and chrome. I utterly hate using IE. - Royce Mathew via twhirl
Yes, some companies websites our business works with *only* work in IE - TDavid
Mainly those are websites that use ActiveX. A good example are the hosted CRM apps that integrate with Quickbooks, Peachtree, etc. They often require ActiveX controls, and thus IE. - Jason Huebel

On my work laptop, but I don't have a choice. Also a home for the odd page that doesn't work in Firefox but I tend to go to Chrome nowadays. I do save some web pages to Web Archive format and IE is the only browser I know that does this (or at least does it well). - Kol Tregaskes
Have to at school, and teachs auto destroy anything downloaded...so Chrome and FF were gone on day 1 :( - ♣genieyclo♣
many banks in Europe require IE for online banking and don't support FF. Typically its only the authentication parts where physical one time pad calculators are used. I am using Chrome for everything but..... - SnakeDoc

November 12 at 5:18 pm - Link
Should be pretty easy. IIRC, there's an importer script that comes with WP so you can transfer your blog posts from Blogger to WP. I'm not sure you can transfer comments, though. This is under the assumption you'll be using a webhost and managing your wordpress install. I'm not sure how to do it with an account with wordpress.com. - Arlan Koizumi
I just made that switch from blogger to wordpress.com. At first I did import my posts, and yes the comments went with just fine. I later decided I want to start with a clean slate and removed them. At this time I am going to maintain both sites. - Chris Dahl
@Chris - how long did it take for you to switch over? Which webhost are you using (if you can share)? - Amani
@ Amani It was quick and painless with wordpress.com as far as webhost? I think you're referring to wordpress.org With wordpress.com you just set up the account and start blogging. If you want to move your old posts, you go to import and you can import them all in minutes. Hope this answers your questions - Chris Dahl
What's the plugin that lets you import your posts? - Aram Zucker-Scharff
Again I am speaking about Wordpress.com so there is no plugin needed. Just go to the dashboard of your blog, then go to manage and there you will see a link that says import. Click that and follow the instructions. Simple. When asking questions here please clarify .com or .org for your wordpress questions, these sites are different, and if you are not sure check of the differences go to the FAQ or forum pages on wordpress they explain it pretty clearly. - Chris Dahl

Am I the only one that doesn't have problems with CSS? I did a table layout when I was first learning HTML back in '97... - ♫ Rahsheen™
I gave up tables about 2 years ago. CSS doesn't give me fits. - Neal "thePuck" Jansons
Why would you want to use tables, seems a bit of a backward way of doing it... I've never really got the tables thing. It's like making a whole page out of ordered lists or h1 tags. - Richard Bradshaw
never!! If CSS is giving you that much trouble, you're probably doing it wrong. - Shey
Tables are hard and sucks. Divs are future. - Kristian Salonen
LOL no. If you're not cut out to build web pages correctly maybe you should try another field, like building houses in California using bricks! - Glenn Batuyong
I tend to think if CSS is causing me this much trouble they did it wrong. - todd
People are really still building sites with tables? The joke would have been funny in 2004, now it's just sad. Heh. - Sean O'Brien
Wow. I hit F5 and I see this come back up in big red letters. Foiled by my own trap. - tehKenny
I don't like tables, but I still can't get the hang of CSS. I swear it's some sort of witchcraft. - Anika Malone
omg, that should say, give up and use absolute positioning ;) FTW! I use tables for what they are for: data, rows and rows of data - zoblue (Zulema)
CSS is for a more civilized age of web development. Can't think I can ever go back to using tables for layout. - Alan Le
47 minutes!? it would take <10 minutes to find an example of what you want your layout to do - Neil Bernhart
In my experience, CSS and table layout do require a different mindset per technique. For personal projects I get to use strictly CSS layout. At work I need to adhere to ancient ways. :( I'd recommend getting a few layout templates done so if you can't generate layouts quickly, you got some ready made. And the benefits of CSS layouts go past the initial structure. Maintenance and repositioning is so much easier. - Arlan Koizumi

I've been using UMPC's and now Netbook for a few years now and they can handle most tasks. These are great for students since it's common to take notes with a laptop and they would rather carry around a small 2lb device that's very cheap to buy. - Rodfather
