Wow. This is taking more or a soap opera turn lately.

Here's an easy little test. Create a LiveJournal post today. Tomorrow edit the post from today by adding another image to the bottom of the post. Wow I have just rewritten history!

yeah, the fact that he posted it to live journal in October is kind of meaningless given that you can edit an entry after the fact.

So looking through Edward's photo stream on Flickr, I see photos that were more than likely not shot by him. For instance http://www.flickr.com/photos... or http://www.flickr.com/photos... The second even says it's an AP photo in the description. All are listed with all rights reserved Copyright. Doesn't this violate Flickr's TOS?

interesting.. traces back to Photobucket page http://bit.ly/DACQh for user detroit_01 AND here is the EXIF data showing the image was created December 25th 2008 Jeffrey's Exif viewer http://bit.ly/3tG2pP

Just posted this update to my blog: Update: I received a reply back this morning from Przydzial to my Facebook message asking him if he filed the DMCA takedown notice against Firas and if he is claiming ownership to the Obama image. Here is his reply back to me: "i do not own the image. time magazine photographer does... i am the "creator" of said image not firas whatever. i posted them...

2nd update. I think I'm done with this one for a while. Update #2: I just received back a second reply facebook mail to my reasking Edward the question as to whether or not he filed this DMCA takedown notice and this is what he replied:"i'm finding you have already posted a blog about me, made your assumptions and printed all type of trash that has been deemed harassment. the links to...

Your first comment on this post TH is definitely ringing true. BTW did you know you were posting as your better half ;)
- travispuk
opps, I always forget to log her out and log myself back in when I'm working from home.
- Thomas Hawk
Well, so either Edward or Firas is lying. Based on all of the information I have read, it is not clear who is the actual author of the image. I wonder if we will ever find out?

"The coconut crab, Birgus latro, is the largest land-living arthropod in the world, and is probably at the upper limit of how big terrestrial animals with exoskeletons can become in today’s atmosphere. The species inhabits the coastal forest regions of many Indo-Pacific islands, although localized extinction has occurred where the crab is sympatric with man. Generally nocturnal, they remain hidden during the day and emerge only on some nights to forage. Their body is divided into four regions; the cephalic lobe, forepart, trunk, and opisthosoma. It is a highly apomorphic hermit crab and is known for its ability to crack coconuts with its strong pincers to eat the contents. It is the only species of the genus Birgus."

They are VERY good to eat, one of my favorite foods from our sailing trip. The only problem is I'm a lobster fan myself so I went straight for the tail. It is filled with a brown goo I called butt butter.. it tastes like smokey peanut butter mixed with saltwater. The claws are fantastic.. better than lobster!! You have to be VERY careful they can snap your fingers off . You better be careful not to overfeed those cure little hermit crabs you all have.. cause that is what you will get!!
- Chris Myles
reminds me of the heads crabs in Half-Life. :)
- BRҰANSAҰS
Heck yeah, I'd eat that :] That's the capybara of the arthropod world.
- Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
I wonder how much coconut flavour the meat has.
- Andrew C (✓)
Not much but it does soften the meat. It's the best darn arthropod meat I have ever tasted. hmm first time I've ever used arthropod and meat in the same sentence. When you kill them (machete into the soft under belly) nothing but coconut liquid comes out (the clear stuff not the milk). Anyone ever tried a coconut apple (the foam that forms inside after a coconut starts to sprout)? yumm!
- Chris Myles
the link I posted must have the cloak of invisibility on it.

lol! I'd rather be on the beach too than in a bathroom with these freaks :D
- vijay
and by explaining that this was staged Mark probably killed it. :D EDIT: Josh was first with the link! +10 internetz!

Sorry, Josh. I was trying to remember the guy's name when I noticed you posted that link. Anyway, some more of this series on his website: http://www.charliewhite.info/sub...

This is actually a pretty well known photographer behind this and other images. I want to say that he was a special efx creature makers for movies in Hollywood, and then went into photography? I'll have to go back through my notes and find out. He was under the section on simulated reality.

Found it. The photographer's name is Charlie White. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... And we're apparently both alums of the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Don't hate. There are more pics on his site: http://www.charliewhite.info/ I actually kind of like his work...

And for clarification, I am asking whether this is good or bad for FriendFeed users. I have edited the main post to reflect this.
- Rishabh Mishra (p248)
Also unsure - to me FF is a vital resource, if it was wrapped in the facebook page - I'll stop using it, I have a facebook page, but find that it is limited.
- Dan owns Comicsforge.com
The number of people that think that the FriendFeed/Facebook deal is bad is startling. Though, personally, I am not optimistic about this deal either.

Go figure! On the other hand don't. There is little pint trying to understand cats. They clearly know things we don't! lol

My cat occasionally goes in the sink but he always sleeps under the sink, he never sleeps on beds or chairs :)
- M F
One of our cats likes to pee in sinks... directly into the drain, though. I have mixed feelings about that :P
- Jemm
On hot days one of our cats would sneak into the neighbor's house through their cat door, and sleep in their sink. She never slept in our sink, only theirs. Fortunately the cats in that neighborhood seemed to get along, they never had a territorial fight in the neighbor's house.

"Fucking A, I hate this lady so much. She sounds like she’s on muscle relaxers 24 hours a day. Every time I turn on the radio, no matter what city I’m in or what time it is, Delilah is somewhere out there, talking to some idiot redneck about how much they love their husband but he works so much that he’s never home because he’s taking care of their family by working so much and she just loves him so much and really desperately wants to playa love song for him even though he’s not listening because he’s actually in a hotel with her sister who asked her to babysit her kids tonight because she just really needed to take care of some “personal business” and she’s probably wearing a t-shirt with Disney characters on it."

that's what she looks like? she always sounded "brunette" to me. Now I hate her. lol. j/k. I only hear her once in a great while, maybe b/c I stop on the station b/c I feel like having some super pretend sun shiny noise going through my ears. :)

I love how her head shot looks like a glamour shot from Sears.

Typing isn't such a great experience. I have to use my thumb nails, or sort of fit my nails around the keys I want to press and push down. Very odd.

Navigating to OS is slooooooooow! The iPhone is much speedier in terms of touching to get things accomplished.

Email IS the killer app. Being able to see my meetings, and read my work email, is just awesome. The screen is brilliant, and makes reading pretty pleasant.
- Mike Nayyar
I can't see myself losing my iPhone, though, because of the apps. Too many built up, and integrated into my life, to give it up.
- Mike Nayyar
When I was shopping for a universal remote; I noticed reviewers strongly on physical keys vs touchscreen. I see the same with phones. I like typing on a touch screen much more than tiny buttons, but for some it's a deal breaker.

I got the new Curve 8900. I did mess around with the Bold 9000 quite a bit, but felt it was too bulky and heavy despite the slightly more lenient keyboard. I think when the Tour comes out, I'll like that more, but it wasn't an option for now, so I went with what I could take.
- Mike Nayyar
I have to say, typing on the Curve, and then immediately typing on the iPhone, the biggest difference was the autocorrection. The iPhone has become a breeze to use since I know it will likely (>70%) know the word I meant.
- Mike Nayyar
That is the one thing that I can't stand about BB, is the apps. They have the crappiest app store ever. When I got Touch, I couldn't believe all the apps. I instantly wanted an iPhone.
- Michelle M
That's why, in my opinion, iPhone is better. Email is the killer app for Blackberry, apps for iPhone. Apps > Email
- Mike Nayyar
I have the 8900 Curve, which I use when I'm away from the house, and the iPod Touch for when I really don't want to get back in front of the growing behemoth that is my workstation. Love both, but I NEED that QWERTY. 8900 rules it.
