@Rah why are you trying to install Lijit. I am still baffled as to why people use it. What is the compelling reason if you don't mind my asking? - Roger Kondrat
It looks cool because the search pops up in a fancy iframe, it includes my content from other places besides my blog, it allows people to explore my "network" to see what blogs I'm related to. Regular search is boring :) - Rahsheen(isSoAwesome)

Oh, wait. I get it. That's why you put the nom nom in there. ;-) Yeah, it's late. I'm not so fast on the draw when I'm this tired. - Lisa L. Seifert
No problem Lisa. You had the guts to not delete your first comment and come back to correct yourself! :0) - Adam Helweh
Hahahahh ahaha - J. Abdul-Qahhar
Hmmm... well not so much gutsy since I didn't really see it as a mistake so much as I was asking a question in clarification of the *rules* of Ramadan... But, thanks anyway! :-) Or perhaps I just don't mind looking silly and don't care if other people see the silliness. - Lisa L. Seifert
So, how is your Ramadan experience? Worth it so far? Do you join the masses out of tradition? Does it affect your Muslim experience? More spiritual insight and all of that? I used to live in a very Muslim neighborhood in Chicago. I saw a lot from the outside looking in but never really got to hear about the experience... :-| - Lisa L. Seifert
@Lisa its similar to any other religious/spiritual experience. It really is what you make of it. There is much more to it than just fasting from meals throughout the day. Admittedly, I learned much more about it when I married my wife who is from the middle east (I am half white boy, born and raised in California). Other words to describe it are "reflection, giving, cleansing, remembrance". - Adam Helweh
Definitely spiritually based. Outside of Ramadan, lack of eating or waiting long hours to eat often causes problems with my eating machine. In Ramadan, I don't face any discomforts or problems. The key is the intention prior to beginning the fast (niyyah). I agree with Adam's words of describing Ramadan. This month is very important to me, I remember practicing before I converted and a year later I converted on the eve of the 1st of Ramadan. Definitely spiritual. - Mikael Pittam

Interestig to see how adding DOM operations evens out John's benchmarks (first has DOM ops and Safari beats Chrome, second is Google's apparently slightly biased benchmark, which relies heavily on recursion). - Bret Taylor via Bookmarklet
Just Firefox - Saman
It is time to optimize for DOM. Faster JavaScript is fantastic..... great for games and crypto.... but what about the real world? NOTE: Ray Cromwell's Chronoscope benchmark http://timepedia.blogspot.com/... - Dion Almaer
和我昨天的判断一样 - foxmachia via fftogo
yeah i made the point on DOM to the V8 team http://tinyurl.com/65clg2 - never got back to me on that one say maybe some truth to it :) - weblivz via twhirl
These tests are very insightful. I was initially very excited about Chrome being 10 times faster on javascript. As usual with any such claims (not just from Google), they are skewed. However, I do think that Chrome entering the market will cause all browsers to get better more rapidly. Competition does drive innovation. - Robert Felty
Thanks for sharing this detailed knowledge. Very useful. - Edwin Khodabakchian
we're working on DOM work now. believe that the tracing technique has applications; working on getting the DOM acting faster soon. - John Lilly
granted all beta-quality of Chrome and zero-day securiity bug, i think their current *speed* shows only lack of exception handling. Once it matures, it will be same or evenn worse than FF - it is tough to beat long-standing code without rounding corners on usual code glue... - silpol

@Ron - I hate Radcliffe :D Emma Watson is an entirely another thing :D - Yuvi
Yuvi: I actually hate when people call me "Harry". Argh! I'm better looking. XD - Ron
@Ron - Hard to judge with that Manga :D Ofcourse, if you had a girlfriend as gorgeous as Emma Watson (which will be the story in the later HP series), then you'll be the envy of quite a lot of people. - Yuvi
Ghosh, where the hell is this thread going?! - Yuvi
Hey, what's wrong with Harry Potter? I think he's cute ;) - Mona N.
@Mona - Well, I donno. He doesn't really look like how I imagined Harry Potter would look like (from the books). Emma Watson, on the other hand... - Yuvi

I think it was Pythagoras who once said, "Here is a circle. Everything inside the circumference is our knowledge; outside the circle is what we dont know. The bigger the circle grows, the more we get to know, but the the more e perceive how much more we dont know." P.S. morning Mona :) - Hayk Hakobyan

Mona is both. No doubt. - Abby Martin
And asleep. LOL - Ron
I love this but since there's no scale, there is the appearance that the things we know and don't know grow in proportion to each other, which is misleading. The chart on the right should either have an exponential scale for C versus B's linear or change labels to place B on the vertical and C on the horizontal. Reason is, the things we don't know grows exponentially to the things we know as education grows. Just saying we get dumber faster with more education :) - ·[•_•]·
Or, the things we don't know are finite and our ability to comprehend them grows work knowledge. Or, the things we don't know are infinite and our increasing knowledge improved our understanding of infinity. - Robert Hafer

Brutal. It's all fun and games until someone's neck snaps. Plus, growing kids don't need their brains rattled in their skulls. They won't be any smarter. I'd say kids who join 'Shark Tank' will score lower on all educational tests. What a waste of time for kids. What happened to reading, doing puzzles, or playing scrabble? - Mo J
Yes. My initial reaction was that the trainer at the Shark Tank was trying to teach the kids how to get past the fear of defending themselves and taking a punch at a young age,, but as the video went on I heard comments like "Are you mad?! He just messed your hair up. Now go!". When emotions like that take over, important skills like "judgement" go out the window. - Adam Helweh
