"I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean you want to pitch to someone to get funding or do you want to find someone that you will fund to develop your app. I don't know of any seed or venture fund that is accepting iPhone app pitches. The market for any such app would be too small for them. If you are looking for someone to develop your app, check out the comment by iPhoneAppFreelancer above. They seem to be open to doing that. ...Dale"

"If I'm reading between the lines, you are saying you don't get sick playing fighting games when the camera is pulled way up high and looking down on the characters Kwadi? DMC = Devil May Cry? I'm not sure what MSG is, other than an ingredient in chinese food. ;) That's interesting. I've certainly never got sick from that kind of game either. But fast moving backgrounds don't usually get me sick either."

"Sapna, the 'Beginning iPhone Development' textbook I mentioned above should cover the bases for what you need to know. Of course the Hillgas 'Cocoa Programming for the Max OS X ' text will be critical if you are new to Objective C, xCode and programming for the Mac generally. You could, of course, do most of what you want by developing a web-app applicable for a mobile device, but to get the unit iPhone touch features and advanced graphics on the iPhone you'll want/need to build a native iPhone app. ...Dale"

"If I get woozy, like you it can last for hours after putting the game down. I don't think my sickiness lasts beyond that day though. But the longer I play feeling woozy, the longer that feeling will stick around after I put it down."

"No worries Daniel, as long as a post is on-topic and tasteful I don't mind people plugging their own content. I do the same thing. I note that the ListenUp podcast mentioned above is either canceled or changed. The last one I heard it seemed Garnett Lee was off to do something new. When I get the time to figure out what happened there, I'll update this post."

"That's an interesting idea Joe. Though I have a particular customized down pillow that I have slept with for 25 years. I call it a 'worm' pillow. I wrap it around my head when I sleep. It's something my dad had all my life and my mom made one for me a long time ago and I've used it ever since. I find it hard to sleep without it. I even take it with me when I travel. It's been all over the world! ;) But, more interestingly, I don't really have problems falling asleep any more which makes this whole post rather moot for me personally. Just over a month after I wrote this post I stopped drinking coffee or caffeine of any kind. It was a tough first month to get through. But, ever since, I have had no problem sleeping. Fancy that! I recently started drinking decaf coffee. While I hate most decaf, Starbuck's bold Verona blend, when I make it at home using my Aerobie Aeropress tastes very, very good. ...Dale"

"My experiences are no more than what I've written above and in the comments. My development is on again, off again. I finally got past the hurdle that was holding me back in August and then life interviewed. My law practice has gotten quite busy and I haven't had the time to get back to it. I hope to finish it one day, but you never know ... best laid plans and all. :)"

"Yes, I guess I should put a picture up of my finger now. You can barely see the scar. Only if I look for it. Certainly nobody would notice it. However, I'd much rather have a scar and not the slight paralysis I now have because the nerve never healed back."

"Interesting stuff Mint. Others have also said that first person and third person viewing makes a difference. I've never correlated my being sick to first or third person view. I can get sick in either view and I can be fine in either view. So there has NEVER been a first person game that you have been able to play without getting sick? I notice that if I'm in a first person view I get sick when the character bobs up and down while walking. But in Halo, for example, Master Chief doesn't bob, so I don't get sick in first person view. Another thing I forgot to mention in my original post. I have monocular vision: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... My eyes do not work together and never have. My left I follows my right and I use it for peripheral vision but I only use my right eye. If I close my right eye, my left eye has perfect vision, but when the right eye is open it becomes subservient. A side affect of this, for example, is that I can't see 3D movies like others can. It..."

How to Permanently Uncheck the grayed-out ‘Always ask before opening this type of file’ box When Opening Attachments in Outlook 2007 - http://www.daleisphere.com/how-to-...
If the dialogue box above frustrates you as much as it does me, here’s how to permanently uncheck that grayed-out box. The Problem Microsoft has understandably made security a cornerstone of its recent software releases. Each time you attempt to open a possibly malicious attachment in Outlook 2007, a warning dialogue box like the one [...]

"Like you, I have found the Disqus team to be very helpful on numerous occasions. They aren't prefect. There has been a bug in their 'People, Recent, Popular' widget for about a half a year that they haven't fixed despite my asking twice. But, otherwise I've had a really good experience with them."

"You are only a month in Devric. Mine hurt a lot more after a month than it does now a year and a half later. I guess I shouldn't complain because others have things worse, but, well, it's my finger and it still bugs me with nagging pain, not much, but enough to bug me, every day of my life."

"Zzzoe: The TiVo Series 3 and TiVo HD cannot record ANY digital stations from Rogers, whether SD or HD. Period! It can ONLY record analogue cable from Rogers but that comes at a trade-off that you won't like. If you let it record analogue from Rogers then you can't use it to record HD from over the air. That is because the guide data for Canada still does NOT contain OTA HD information. As a result to get TiVo to record OTA HD, you need to pick a corresponding U.S. border town as your location for the purposes of getting guide data. In doing so, that U.S. border town is not going to have the same analogue stations on its cable line up as Rogers. So it is good for ONLY over the air info which is identical to Canadian towns and cities across the border. So, if you are using the TiVo S3 or TiVo HD to record HD over the air, it will NOT record any HD from Rogers. So, purchasing the Rogers HD lineup is pointless if you want to record it. You can, of course, watch it live through your HD TV..."

Took the rare step of actually deleting a social networking account because Disqus continues to serve me with popups to login when commenting and has now started spamming me when I leave comments as an unregistered guest. Sorry folks, from now I won't be leaving any comments on Disqus sites. You can still have a conversation w/ me here though
I use Disqus every day. The only pop-up is a login screen when choosing between the various ways of logging in - native, Yahoo!, Facebook Connect etc. As for 'spamming' you. There is a setting on your Disqus account if you want them to email you when someone replies to one of your comments. That is one of the reasons I use and love Disqus. You can turn it off if you are a curmudgeon....

Sorry Dale, I can't understand any benefit to making it harder for someone to leave a comment. In the case of Disqus, I'm having a different experience because I don't stay logged into the service. If I do login, I have no control over how they present my content. Instead of allowing me to keep my comments separate, they consolidate them together. That may be great for you, but I want...

"We both shared the Deux Ex and Wolvenstein sickness! :) But you felt it on the PC and I did on the Xbox. I'm hoping to play the latest Wolvenstein in the next month or so (despite tepid reviews). I'm hoping that as with most games that caused me sickness in the past that their game engines have improved enough so that I don't get sick. As an update. I just finished ODST campaign mode. Not a drop of nausea all the way through."

"Agreed. It still represents the old way of thinking. Take the consumer for every penny we can and provide as little service as possible."

"Jeff, my first plus key was invalidated when they gave me a new one. The old one doesn't work anymore. But, even if it was active, I wouldn't feel comfortable giving it away. The plus key is part of TiVo's DRM and licensing system."

Last March, I switched ISPs from Rogers to Bell’s fiber-to-the-building Internet Max 16 service. I made the switch at the same time I ‘cut the chord’ – dumping Rogers cable in favor of HD, over-the-air only, TV recorded on my Series 3 TiVo. Bell offered me a one year promotional deal for their Internet Max [...]

"At no time, either prior to or after my use of Wordpress did it ever email me if I had a comment. But, I was self hosted for a long time and my ISP disabled automated email from my Apache server so Wordpress may have that function and I've never used it. As for disqus, go to the 'Notifications; tab in your Disqus profile page here: http://www.disqus.com/account... and check the box that says: "Enable Send me Notifications" to the first option that reads: Email notifications are sent when comments are posted on discussions that matter to you. Then check the box below that that says: - notify me of replies to my comments. Beyond that, if that doesn't get them going for you, futz around with the settings and contact Disqus. They've always worked for me. But I'm also a one-man bloger - not sure how it would work in a multi-blogger site ...Dale ...Dale"

"I don't understand your problem Gordon. Wordpress doesn't send out notifications to the post author if someone comments on the post, Disqus does - when you have Disqus enabled. If that is not working for you you might want to fiddle with your Disqus options and/or contact their support people. ...Dale"

"I too get that problem Iggy and have never been able to fully solve it. I do recall that sometimes copying and pasting the whole document into another empty document helping, but not consistently. But, unfortunately, occassionaly there is a document that is not salvageable."
