"Scarborough and his fellow MSNBC colleagues Mika Brzezinski and Chuck Todd shot back today on “Morning Joe.” “It is a total witch hunt against a guy that gave his all in uniform for the United States of America,” Scarborough said, later calling the neocon smear campaign “disgusting.” “It’s disgraceful,” Brzezinski added. “It’s unbelievable,” Chuck Todd said, “I am stunned at this Hagel thing.” “I agree with what you guys are saying about Hagel,” former top Obama adviser David Axelrod said during the segment. "The push back against the “neocon smear machine” on Hagel as been vast, wide, high profile and bipartisan, including from prominent journalists, retired military brass, former national security advisers, former U.S. ambassadors and veterans and military families."

Did they mention the Israel factor or just blame it on the 'neocons'...?...LOL

What a miscalculation on Kristol's part. He just hit himself and Israel with a gigantic hammer. What's his group for Israel called?

I don't believe Hagel is a anti semite, I do believe he is a US firster who knows the score on Israel and the Lobby and calls it like it is. So how * absolutely fittng * it would be if the zio attack on Hagel turned out to be a watershed event for the Lobby....the O.K. Corral shoot out.....A lone American faces down the Gun Slinger Lobby. LOL I hope like hell he wins.

Look, I don’t blame them. As I can testify from personal experience, telling the truth about the lobby is dangerous. And by the lobby I mean not only AIPAC but all its satellite organizations, journalists, flacks, bloggers, etc, who will come after anyone who talks about the lobby’s role in determining U.S. policy on Iran. Moon of Alabama's coverage of the Syrian crisis is exemplary, in my view, for it's (1) courage in sniping at the Upper West Side lazy brunch view, and (2) real reporting on the lack of proper media investigation. No matter your pov, read it. http://www.moonofalabama.org/
"Having trapped themselves in a death struggle with Palestinians that they cannot acknowledge or untangle, Israelis have psychologically displaced the source of their anxiety onto a more distant target: Iran. An Iranian nuclear bomb would not be a happy development for Israel. Neither was Pakistan's, nor indeed North Korea's. The notion that it represents a new Holocaust is overstated, and the belief that the source of Israel's existential woes can be eliminated with an airstrike is mistaken. But Iran makes an appealing enemy for Israelis because, unlike the Palestinians, it can be fitted into a familiar ideological trope from the Jewish national playbook: the eliminationist anti-Semite.

"Mr Netanyahu thinks the Zionist mission was to give the Jewish people control over their destiny. No people has control over its destiny when it is at war with its neighbours. But in any case, that is only one way of thinking of the Zionist mission. Another mission frequently cited by early Zionists was to help Jews grow out of the "Ghetto mentality". Mr Netanyahu's gift to Mr Obama shows he's still in it.

I like the Ecomonist blog because it's written by their reporters but they don't put their names to it----a way I suppose of them being able to let knowledgeable reporters do opiniion pieces without getting nailed by someone for their opinions. A lot of comments on the piece, 20 to 1 fed up with USA-Isr.

Trapped in a psychological hamster wheel, a slave to xenophobic biblical tropes -- it never ends -- and they are dragging the entire world into the melodrama.

There are many reasons why Israel (and the USA/EU) want to bring down Iran, but the nuclear issue is not one of them. It's used as an excuse. Like WMDs was used against Iraq. If Iran stopped all nuclear development and scrapped all of its nuclear works, they would still be a main target of zionist-imperialist aggression. Arguing on THEIR terms give the initiative to THEM and puts one in...

Which ever reporter wrote this didn't mince any words but he didn't overstate the mental derangement of Netanyahu's Israel either. I have seen some articles saying the Israeli public that earlier was gung ho to bomb Iran are now pulling back because they are worried about the US not being involved.

"How many of THEIR aggressions have we stopped since 1975 by acting this way? 0 - mark e " Zero is right. The Iran one is going to be somone's Waterloo, attack or not attack. If we don't attack and don't let Israel attack then it's Israel's Waterloo in terms of them throwing the US weight around in the ME.

I fully agree that THEY need to be stopped from attacking Iran. Not sure Iran represents a Waterloo for these people.

The Yahu giving the Book of Esther to Obama is interesting, and can mean different things, depending on who Yahu wants Obama to think Yahu thinks he is in that story. My interpretation is Yahu just gave Obama a "horse head in the bed" type warning. I think Yahu considers Obama to be the Haman character, not the Persian king. The king is the zionist power configuration. Yahu could think...
