Great approach to re-approaching a problem. I worked with a team on a small, rotary wind turbine for a little while earlier this year. We broke up the design into sub-tasks, which prevented us from seeing the big picture and forced us into replicating pre-existing solutions. Does this mean that committee-based problem solving can't come up with novel ideas like this one? - Dan Brown
