"One of my favorite conferences was Chris Pirillo's Gnomedex. As an attendee he always had you feeling like a rock star. The catered lunch was amazing, drinks were provided, and the location (http://www.bellharbor.com/) was breathtaking. I loved that it was single-track too. This had the attendees bond more easily, because they all shared the same experience. I have organized BarCamp and PodCamp Nashville, and my monthly networking events, Geek Breakfast and Nashcocktail. My most important takeaway is to always make your attendees feel like gold too."

"I wish I could have been there with you. Returning to Toronto for a short trip recently made me a little homesick. Especially when I surprised my Dad for his 80th birthday. I'm sorry more of your friends ("F"riends?) didn't attend your events. Suze recently wrote a great post about friendship on her blog. http://www.suzemuse.com/2013/0... I'm glad you two were able to connect again. Wish I could have been there too."

"Welcome back to the T Dot. It's funny, you reminded me of my backpacking days. Back then I would travel to random towns across Europe. The first thing I would do is find a pub or cafe to scribble in my journal and enjoy a pint or two. As my speaking picks up and my travel increases, you can bet I'll be doing this again. Thanks C.C."

"Interesting thoughts, Brad. I think of quiet as still possibly distracting, while silence is the white space where I can think clearly. I have been experimenting with walking and driving with no music or podcasts playing for a while, just time to be alone with my thoughts. I find it helps me find clarity. I am rethinking my definitions of the terms. Thanks for sharing this."

"I love this. I have often found great stress seeking ideas for posts. I have decided to put health ahead of most other things. If we don't have our health there is little point to everything else we do."

"I love that I'm reading this and about to present in one hour. You really nailed it, John. Thanks for the post. I'm pumped and ready to go!"

"Unfortunately, I am not seeing it through the apps either. I do hope LinkedIn updates this. It's an important part of the connection process. For now, we can still turn to the site to send proper connection requests."

"Thank you for writing this and sharing your experiences. I am still in shock about yesterday. It's hard to believe it is real. Your post helps to make it real and to remind us that we are stronger than them - 100 times stronger."

"I began to draft my reply, but read through and found yours. You have perfectly wrote what I feel. My kids are 6 and 7. They are not aware of what happened today. They understand that bad people exist, but in a "stranger danger" sort of way. There is no reason to rush their maturity. I absolutely cherish their blissful innocence. Thanks Jenni. Peter, welcome to fatherhood (soon). It's the best ride of your life. My life has never been better than it has since my two monkeys entered it. Enjoy the ride."
