Okay this is a little late but... for a 50" Samsung PN50B650 plasma, the power-on wattage is 252 Watts and the stand-by wattage is 0.18 Watts. So assuming 4 hour of viewing per day, ((4 x 252) + (20 x 0.18))/1000 = 1.01 Kwh per day, or 369 Kwh per year. So at 12 cents per Kwh, the cost to run the plasma for a year is only $44! If LCD saves you 30% then you're saving about $13 per year by buying an LCD. :P

You'll like it. I suggest practicing with old clothes first. Also practice without a machine using simple needle and thread. That skill comes in handy when out in the boonies believe me :)

the brother quattro 6000d is the mother of all sewing + embroidery machines. made sure i stopped @ their booth @ ces 2009. tough for guys to find anything that's _not_ loose, baggy, dull, & not yet another t-shirt. sewing machines are still an undiscovered tool for clean fitted apparel esp for guys.
