"To those of you with the iPod Touch on 2.2.1 or earlier (especially 2G) who are now unsure whether to do the 3.0 software update after reading this article, I say ignore the numbersand do the update anyway. Bluetooth, copy/paste, spotlight, push notifications, landscape keyboard... who gives half a crap about another 10 seconds of boot time? Even if rebooting the iPod was a daily necessity - which it isn't, at all - an extra 10 seconds of boot time is hardly enough of a basis for an argument not to update. Personally I think using a device like the iPod Touch is about a hell of a lot more than speed. Then again, I also think that most of the features brought in by 3.0 should have been there by 2.x; and in terms of copy/paste 1.x. And people shouldn't have to pay for firmware updates. Ever. But that doesn't change the fact that this 'article' is anything other than pish and twaddle of the highest degree."
