Easy: Wikipedia is a peer-reviewed record of history. Things like opinion, bias and factual inaccuracies are eventually weeded out until what remains is the vanilla and (hopefully) factual record of the events. Amateurs can do the news, but amateurs often don't have the tools or experience to filter out the chaff and keep the wheat - Johnny
