I mentioned this in passing in my piece, earlier this week, with my identi.ca todo list. The biggest thing about FF are the discussions. You could easily integrate disqus with Identi.ca or Twitter for that matter, to give the same effect and connect back to our blogs. This would end the uncomfortable duality, when some discussion is taking place on the blog and some on FF. They really need to be the same thing. I discovered disqus through scripting.com the other day, and tried it out myself on my own site. I'm seriously impressed, but I'm holding back from a full implementation as it uses JavaScript. A system like disqus that uses PHP (thereby removing browser dependencies) would be a killer ... I wonder if it's possible? - Brian Heys

Just as facebook copied FriendFeed (and in a good way). Disqus would be great for twitter (and vice versa), i dont really use any of the other microblogs, the community is on twitter and until it shuts down, i'm on twitter. - Sahil Desai

You said "should do a deal with identi.ca". I'm sorry to be the one (that is, identi.ca employee) that points out that we don't do "deals" with unfree services. What other people do with our API is up to them, but you certainly won't see any integration at this end. - Earle Martin
