The 2 Rules of Engagement - Social Media and Technology Blog Boston by SchneiderMike - http://www.schneidermike.com/socialm...
early every panel on Social Media mentions Marcel Lebrun’s team and the Radian 6 platform. With that comes the obligatory mention of the Listen, Measure, Engage methodology. During the MITX Brand Personification #MITXSM panel on September 17,2009, there was mention of the usual tenets of social media: * Be transparent * Do not attempt to control the conversation * Engage - David Alston

Benjamin Wagner - New York City Singer/Songwriter, Journalist & Filmmaker - http://www.benjaminwagner.com/2009...
While I am ultimately responsible for everything that MTV News produces, my colleague Ryan ably helmed the pre-show. I was tasked with fusing my two worlds: Television and The Internets. My pre-show job, then, was to floor produce Justine Ezarik (aka iJustine) in what we called “The Tweet Seat.” From high above Sixth Avenue (just a few steps from Rolling Stone Magazine, my very first paying job in New York City), Justine analyzed VMA celebrity activity on Twitter using a data visualization developed by MTV, Stamen Group and Radian6. - David Alston

Dirk Shaw: How do you report social media sucess? - http://dirkshaw.blogspot.com/2009...
As I mentioned a key learning to increase executive commitment to social media was the need to move beyond reporting just social media metrics. We need to show how our activity is impacting business outcomes that matter to executives. - David Alston

While the title of the paper is “Mobile Advertising – 2020 vision“, I think it actually goes further and is a very brave (and I believe accurate) look at how ADVERTISING will look in 2020. - David Alston

As futurologist Ian Pearson stated in Gartner's Customer Relationship Management Summit earlier this year, the rapid pace of change in technology means that companies need to focus on agility instead of just optimization when it comes to integrating social media and CRM applications. - David Alston

Third Tuesday is gearing up for the autumn season. Who would you like to hear talking about what topics?
I would love to see a repeat of Collin Mackay's Ottawa session about the process behind the Privacy Commissioner's blog. Joe's post on it at the time was excellent - I think people would get a lot of value from his case study. - Dave Fleet
Hey there Joe, don't exactly know how to pull this off but what if we had a cross-country video based Third Tuesday with all of the various cities (projected on screens in each location with webcams capturing crowd) We could have some speakers in a central location to kick it off (like Tdot) and then have a second speaker or breakouts in the rest of the locations after the "keynote". Could be neat. We sorta did this with Brogan live on webcam from SNCR to the Fredericton one. People liked it. - David Alston
I really like David's idea of connecting all the Third Tuesday events together. I was in Halifax last month and they have a regular event called Third Thursday. What do people think about asking them to connect? Third Thursday is their first attempt at gathering people with similar interests from Halifax and surrounding areas. - Eden Spodek
Neat idea David. I like the idea of pushing the technology to bring people together in one virtual space at one time. Can the folks who organized the Fredericton event help us to work out how we might do this? - Joseph Thornley
Intriguing idea - for the new year, perhaps? Montreal has Sept, Oct and Nov booked (and don't expect anyone to show up for the 3rd Tuesday of December:) Keep us posted! - Michelle Sullivan
I like the idea of cross-country video, I'm worried that working out the time differences for something like this might make an evening session difficult. - Parker Mason
