"To start 2009, we released Nambu Touch for the iPhone, our integrated Twitter, Friendfeed, Ping.fm, tr.im and pic.im, client all rolled into one. Review timelines, send updates, retweet, access Twitter Search, and a lot more. Upload and share photos with pic.im, and check your statistics. And best of all, it's free"

It's not as nice as twitterfon but it's a good start.
- Kevin D. White
I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Does it have any FriendFeed support, or is that just "planned"?
- Paul Buchheit
i was wondering the same thing. my friend said Nambu eats DMs on desktop version!?!
- Susan Beebe
It doesn't do anything but Twitter in the latest desktop version. Everytime I try it, there's something I don't like about it that pushes me back to TweetDeck
- Bwana ☠
No one gives a flying lemming about DM, e-mail is more reliable :-)
- Richard A.
Just did a double take, thought it said "Nambla Network".
- Private Sanjeev
Real FriendFeed support. I'm still trying to figure out a few of the controls (is <3 best of day? My discussions? My likes?) and I can't figure out how to go to rooms, but it feels prett nice. It'd be better if it offered unified views rather than tabbing from service to service.
- Kevin Fox
The desktop version would be superior with friendfeed support. What is it about the friendfeed API that makes it so hard for desktop clients to integrate? Maybe a complexity issue with the interface.
- Tom Mancino
Desktop version is fantastic. Great features and UI though only Twitter right now (others planned). iphone app has FF and ping.fm and has a great interface, but unusable for me 'cos it will not let you scroll back beyond last 100 entries so no good for catching up on overnight stuff
- Bob Walder
from BuddyFeed
"To those of who who use both Twitter and Friendfeed, it should be very apparent how similar Facebook has become, grabbing trademark features from both services. What will be interesting to see is whether features such as; Twitter’s followers, Friendfeed’s real time feeds, 'likes' and lists combined with Facebook “real friend” mentality will catch on."
- Zee.
Finally someone who is saying what I have been trying to get people to understand all day!
- David Jacobs
Dennis missed Facebook's new HD quality and SmugMug is thebest.
- Robert Scoble
No no no. 2009 is the year of the Linux Desktop. ;-)
- Sprague D
could 2009 be the year where monetising video really takes off?
- Riaz Kanani
@Sprague D - now you're being facetious. Ubuntu anyone? @riaz: I think @scobleizer has already answered that one but as always it will follow Power Law principles methinks
- Dennis Howlett
Thanks Louis - my first post on LP in almost six months - tells you how little time I have to do anything else but try new services these days :)
- Frederic
Tells you I still read every post on the site after Google Reader. But I _was_ thinking it had been a while.
- Louis Gray
Ya, I figured The Last Podcast had been abandoned since you moved in with RWW. Anyway, glad to be a part of the return :)
- Jesse Spaulding
thx Jesse! I updated to WP2.7 today and thought I should really post something again - and I'm done teaching for this semester, so I got some extra time again.
- Frederic
Yeah, I could see myself getting in trouble if I used FriendFeed at work. In fact, I know I would get in trouble. I can only multi-task so much before the effort of participating demands too much of my attention. :)
- Jon, the Chilled Beartato
That's interesting - it's just the opposite for me. Using FF in Gmail Chat or just having the Real-Time view over to the side feels like an easy natural way for me to work and keep an eye on conversations. Maybe I'm not using the right 3rd party tools, but I haven't found any happy work flow with Twitter.
- Librarienne
@Sara have you tried Twhirl? It can pop up notifications for either platform (and others)
- Tom de Grunwald
from twhirl
I have Friendfeed and Twitter on a secondary machine here at my desk. That way they don't disturb the focus of my attention. I have to make a conscious decision to turn my head to look at the third monitor to my right, as I have now!
- Ian May
The live FF feed embeds nicely as Firefox sidebar
- Peter Warnock
That's so true, in terms of time spent on each service. ff real-time is just so demanding
- George Tziralis
I agree, FriendFeed does require more attention. I only started using it more when I got laid off and had more time. But I try to use Best of Day to optimize my time spent here.
- Rajiv Doshi
@Rajiv Best of Day is a great feature.
- Rolf Schewe
Twitter is the ultimate browsable medium, but I still get more value out of FriendFeed.
- David Jacobs
Interestingly only FF, and not Twitter, is blocked in my corporation.
- Thomas Bøhm
I use FriendFeed realtime feed at work, doesn't really bother me that much. You just have to think of it like Scoble called it before, 'media snacking' rather than being obsessive about keeping on top of it. The good thing is, the interesting stuff usually keeps floating to the top as people 'Like' it and comment on it.
- David Wilson
I like FF on my iPhone when supervising, it's handy when things are running smoothly, and easy to put awa when things go to hell.
- Robert Hafer
twitter is where @s and DMs come from. My FF live feed sits in the corner of my screen all day as a fluid.app, and I watch that flow by.
- Thomas Knoll
@hasan, burasını görsel odasına çevirdim di mi ya, gördükçe kendimi tutamıyorum sürekli birşeyler gönderiyorum, tamam o odaya katılıyorum ben : )

Triple-meat cupcakes are frosted with two types of mashed potato–beetroot-tinted and plain–and topped with green pepper sprinkles.

They look like they would be good...but are they? Fake potatoes??
- Skye Miller
it probably tastes good, but it would totally mess with my senses, as i'm used to cupcakes that look like that tasting sweet
- Cee Bee
I made these for a class when I was in high school. It was my potluck dish. Everyone loved them. First time I ever made garlic mashed potatoes.
- Admiral Anika
Soon will be my new post: 20 ways to write blog posts about rehashed lists of really obvious things that should go without saying but I need the links so here they are, preferably in 7 pages of 3 things each so I get more impressions on my banner ads and can thus maximize my new media douchebaggery.
I believe we're close to a Meme - let's test that new employee over at Techmeme. :-)
- Jesse Stay
Jesse, you're entitled to be up there, but the chances of The Inquisitr showing as a link in: 0.
- Duncan Riley
Honestly, I don't blame them. They're a leader in the space but they haven't figured out how to monetize yet. They need to make themselves something you absolutely CANNOT live without (and make money) before they can open the floodgates for their users to possibly move elsewhere.
- Shawn Farner
Shawn, may I'm the eternal optimist, but I would have thought opening up would have been a good thing for them to do going forward. As Jesse pointed out the first time around, those that wall themselves in usually don't go the distance
- Duncan Riley
I honestly don't see why they would or should. It's been like this for a very long time. There have been closed options and open alternatives. If you don't like the closed solution, you are more than welcome to move to the open one. If no one's following you there, the company behind the closed option is doing its job and offering a product that people feel they MUST use.
- Shawn Farner
This game has only begun. Twitter won't be the only sheriff in town for long, and when that happens those that have made moves like this will be the furthest along and most ready to move forward.
- Jesse Stay
I don't know what's more impressive. The presidential win or the amazing product marketing attached to it all. Obama is not only a candidate or a president, he truly is a product. The Bush fleece says "kick me" on the back ;)
- David Jacobs
the dude knows brand development & mass marketing!
- Susan Beebe
I actually really dig these, although the notion of wearing a politician's logo outside of a campaigning process creeps me out a little. Nothing against Obama, it's a principle thing.
- Daniel Andrlik
i have never seen anything so cute!! what was the verdict on your nose??
- ♥ Stephiepooos ♥
SmugMug is fast...baby grabs (nose, hair) are faster :)
- Micah Wittman
@Stephanie, my nose survived. Matthew has no teeth. But he was being very silly, biting my chin, nose, cheekbones, anything... my sister helpfully grabbed the iPhone camera and caught it.
- Louis Gray
well i am glad you are in 1 piece still - lucky escape :D. i know so many people have said this, but they really are beautiful babies.
- ♥ Stephiepooos ♥
Librarian, you're brave. I can't imagine trying to take care of two babies at one time. It's been my obvservation that when one baby's alarm goes off, the other one gets set off, too. Scary.
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
I hope you keep posting these and Friendfeed sticks around. It's fun watching kids grow.
- Mattb4rd
Matt, so long as we have kids and cameras, we will keep posting to SmugMug. So long as that hits FriendFeed, and you guys keep participating, we'll keep going. I'm trying not to over-abuse the privilege.
- Louis Gray
He is ADORABLE! This is much better than the monster attacking him pictures
- Adriana
Part II will be up on Monday. Here we discuss the future of blogs and Automattic. Matt's the head of that company, which is the producer of Wordpress.
- Robert Scoble
Christian: this is one of my best interviews. Can't summarize that! :-) Basically we talked about where blogging has come from, where it is going, aka Wordpress, etc.
- Robert Scoble
Gregory: what video service can you get to? I'll repost there.
- Robert Scoble
YouTube is tough because I can only upload 10 minute videos there.
- Robert Scoble
matt gets it. that's what makes the difference. just look at his virtual office.
