librarians and shiny toys! (do eeeeet....!)
- jambina
I don't KNOW Mr. Muggles. A vodcast about my own cat would not entertain anyone but Liz and I. I think I've already said what I have to say about librarians and the allure of the shiny.

I think it has to be a vicious personal ad hominem attack.

Heh. On whom, Steve? [edited "who" to "whom" per Iris below]
- David Rothman (☤)
(clearly that wasn't vicious enough if all it produced was shame)
- lris' ghost
Oh, I volunteer if you don't have anyone in mind.

Damn, Steve, you beat me to it. And, David, a vicious ad hominem attack against a young(er) rising star like Steve may be more effective than an vicious ad hominem attack against an old fart like me: "Been there, done that." Still, it might be fun.

'First break the heart of a young librarian' Oh and I'd say a vodcast on access to information and 'empowerment' would be interesting, with your medlib background and all.
- Pete
I think the only way to solve this is through vicious ad hominem attacks on other librarians' cats.
- Rachel Walden
Heh. That could be sort of funny, Rachel. :) "You're a BAD kitty! You leave hairballs everywere and need your bum wiped for you because you are too fat! You are a stupid, stupid cat!"

Hah! I don't sing well enough for that, Martha. :)

OK, lemme think of a more serious answer. What questions do you have for other librarians (or other people likely to watch the video)? What are some of the questions bothering you right now? I'm less interested in hearing people lay down a party line and more interested in hearing what people are having trouble reconciling.

that didn't stop them from making a Buffy or Xena musical

I'd love to do 'auto-tune' the library if I had the software. :)

from iPod
Please do feel free, Chris. I'd make good use of it. :)

Hmm. I'd also need better video editing software for compositing...superimposing one image over another.

Actually...if anyone has suggestions for free (or inexpensive) audio or video editors, I'd love to hear those.

audacity rules for audio -- one of the few OSS products that blows the analogous Apple product right out of the water interface-wise-speaking

+1 for Audacity. Can't beat it for audio. For video, the newest Windows Movie Maker is suprisingly less-sucky than one might expect. For OSX video, iMovie is great, until you move up to Final Cut or Premiere.
- Jason Griffey
I have/use/like Audacity fine...but it doesn't do fx especially well...certainly no auto-tune. I have Windows Movie Maker (vista version) and it is okay for what it does...but there's a lot it doesn't do.
