"Word on the street among gull watchers was that Daytona Beach in late afternoon was the place to be. It’s near the Tamoka Landfill. I’m sure many of the gulls we saw there ended up on the beach. The gulls are staging along the beach before flying out to the ocean to sleep at night. Rumor had it that there could be 50,000 gulls coming into the beach.
