Sigh. I agree John. What a lame ad. The hype from Microsoft is that this is going to be a big PDC. But ads like this make me think that Microsoft is tone deaf and out of ideas. Why not just do an aspirational video where you tease me with what we're going to learn at PDC? I'm seriously considering not going. The economy is crappy and they are putting out stupid stuff like this. Sigh. - Robert Scoble
You completely missed the point. This is viral marketing... Whether you liked the ad or not, you are now aware of PDC and, better still, you are letting everybody in your network know about it. Until 5 minutes ago I had no idea what PDC meant. I didn't know it existed! Besides, if you watched the whole thing you might even have appreceiated the second degree humour in this ad... - Francois Auerbach
forced viral marketing FAIL - Paulo

Guys- this is intended to be humorous. There has always been a focus on humor and fun at the PDC. If you don't like it, don't watch. If you're not interested, don't go. :) - Randy Holloway

I thought this was stupid until I realized it's a parody. Awesome. - Ambar Pansari
OMG LULZ!!! I'm so going! - LarchOye
Randy: the thing is this was not funny. I think Microsofties need to go to a comedy club. - Robert Scoble
actually the crickets and "leave the coffee" line at the end saved the whole thing. LULZ! - Cameron Reilly

You don't get it. The objective is to reach as many people as possible. Far more people watch/discuss crap on Youtube than the amazing HD creations on Vimeo. - Jérôme Flipo
feels like you have been rubbing a mixture of Ajax and cocaine into them for the past week. With a wire brush. - precious! - Nice Fish Films
Am I the only one that enjoys corny humor and think that the commercial is hilarious? - possible248
Just because it's parody doesn't make it good... - felix
Robert, looks like we're outside of the demographic PDC is aiming for. Oh, well. Lots of other things to do. - Loren Heiny
So it's a really bad parody about a another really bad Windows ad? Sigh. That might go down well with the teeny bopper MySpace crowd, but agree with Robert that was lame beyond belief and doesn't inspire me with Windoze 7. - Sally Church
The cringe factor is high, even knowing there's going to be a catch at the end. But the effect is totally lost and is quite lame. There's a simple formula in comedy that the payoff better be worth the wait. Not here. After spending my formative years in Redmond, I just wanna cry. It reminded me of the type of skit 4th graders write for summer camp. - Todd
The first guy to start singing reminds me of Bruce Campbell...if he were Mexican....and a Douche. - Sean McGee
Robert- for something that isn't humorous it sure seems to get a lot of attention. Why not just ignore it? That said, let loose the trolls! ;) - Randy Holloway

very disappointing; and the "leave the coffee Brian" line is good but not good enough to redeem the previous 200 seconds. If this is where they are going, I want billg and seinfeld back ;-) - Antoine Bertier
Microsoft sucks - Steve
the boy band went on too long - but who cares. At the end of the day windows 7 will have to be fast and f#$%ing awesome or else PC sales will be in trouble... or a mass exudus to OSX or ubuntu. These ads are doing one good thing for MS. We are suckers, we are talking about it - duh! - DC Crowley

When did Friendfeed become slashdot? - Todd Kitta

Hey at least they take the piss out of themselves :) PDC will kick butt this year if not for the unveiling of the Live stuff alone. - Chris Johnson
