We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone - Orson Welles #quotes
You have several ethnic variety in taste. This is a very attractive woman. please surf once my friendfeed . I read your articles , I think so. - Ami Iida
life is a personal affair. Each person renders their own, unique, version of what we call reality... And the one thing many people forget, everything is transitory - of the moment - but you have to live with you for the rest of your life. - alphaxion
"Sabes la soledad es fiel, no te cambia por ninguno, ni te engaña ni traiciona te acompaña, hasta el fin." lyrics to a song by the Jaguares - Zulema ◕ ◡ ◕
@Zu That lyrics is absolutely correct. Being alone is something that all of need to learn to embrace. You can't be happy with others if you are not happy with yourself. - Shevonne
Exactly, if you don't value yourself then why should anyone else? You are the most important person in your life because it's "your" life, you live it, you experience it, you can change it if you don't like it. It's all on the self! - Zulema ◕ ◡ ◕
Welles is amazing - Shevonne
+2 gangster points to you Shevonne - Ethan
Man, go slit your own wrists already.... - Aman Mahal
why should this knowledge be a depressing thing? I find it quite strengthening that I know I can rely upon myself and that I'm happy with myself. - alphaxion
@alphaxion I'm with you. Why is it depressing to know that you should be happy being and loving yourself? - Shevonne
I know a lot of people who can't stay alone: even a solitary walk is difficult for them. - Ahsan Ali aka. Slick
I think once you acknowledge that being alone is a natural state, being with other people becomes a more rewarding experience, because you're not so desperate for their company. - Victor Ganata
Fair counter-point Shevonne, I agree it can definitely have a positive context. I just based my view of the statement on my recollection that Orson Welles died from a heart attack caused by depression-induced morbid obesity, itself a result of his marginalisation by Hollywood society. - Aman Mahal
See, nobody sees what you see. Experience, nobody's having yours. And, if I feel I dance alone too, aren't we dancing together? - Gus
Newsflash! Nobody births themselves. How can you be born alone? >.> - pitlord
pitlord: I think the reference is to the subjective experience. In other words, you may sit right next to someone on a roller coaster and experience the same ride, but essentially, your experiences are unique and individual. This is all assuming that someone else doesn't know exactly how we feel and see exactly what we see at the metaphysical level. The "light/consciousness of humanity" is claimed by some to be a Person. If this is the case, our very consciousness is a person existing so near to us that we do not recognize it. - Gus
that and the reality we observe isn't what the world really looks like - it is simply a rendering from within our minds. There will be variences between each model, making it unique to us all in subtle ways. - alphaxion
I just read something that had a pretty good metaphor that seems to fit with Welles' statement. Between each human being yawns a great chasm. Love and friendship can build a bridge over this chasm, but nothing can actually close the chasm itself. - Victor Ganata
