I have to face it, I never really used StumbleUpon. To be more specific, I never took the time to use it properly. To really prove my point, this is my first blog post! I was content to add thumbs up favorites now and again and get traffic to my blogs simply by adding the links. Speaking of traffic, apart from Google, StumbleUpon is my greatest source of traffic but I know i could get much more traffic if I used StumbleUpon properly. I spend a lot of time on Blog Catalog (brings in good traffic) , Facebook & to a lesser extent, Twitter. Both Facebook and Twitter bring in very little traffic compared to StumbleUpon, so why not stay nurture 'the goose that lays the golden egg?' One figure that worries me is the subscriber count; only 13 after such a long time. That is because I am not spending enough time creating relationships on StumbleUpon. My challenge is to increase subscriber count, blog posts and favorites for this year. Welcome to my blog.

When you are writing articles for your blog, it sometimes takes hours (depending on the length) to write a good, unique, original article. It is therefore tempting to just copy someone’s work, rename it and present it as your article (plagiarism).

"It can be compared to Digg, where if you are not an authority site, you may have to expend tremendous time, energy and a lot of begging and soliciting online for people to Digg your site to get on the cherished front page."

What this will mean (if it is released) is that the preferred sites for (persons using it), will have a bias towards their favorite sites (which will most likely be more established) and Google’s first page of search results (for them) will be populated with these preferred sites. Your new, small or unpopular blog with a better article will be pushed further back, denying it the recognition and exposure it needs to grow

If you look at the foot of this article, you will see a list of Related Posts which feature posts that are similar to this one. This is achieved by the use of a ‘Related Posts’ plugin. They use several variables to determine relation, including content and tags. The one I happen to use is known as ‘Yet Another Related Post’ or YARPP; however, there are several others available, this just happens to be my favorite. It is my opinion that a related posts
