A room for discussing Delicious, the social bookmarking site that everyone thinks of when they think of social bookmarking. (It coined the term!) Please note that this is not a room for random bookmarks or promotional links.
Try reinstalling the Chrome bookmarklet from http://delicious.com/help... - I haven't heard many other reports of problems with it, so reinstalling should be a good first step.

I didn't install Chrome bookmarklet in the first place. It just can't drag and drop bookmarklet like the other browsers.
- Steve Chou
I'm not quite sure what you mean -- did you try dragging-and-dropping the bookmarklet from that page, and it didn't work?
- britta
Yes,I tried to install the bookmarklet as I used to,just drag and drop the bookmarklet for Chrome to the bookmarks, doesn't work at all, then I tried in Firefox,it worked. Is it Chrome' issue or delicious bookmarklet? Still have no idea.
- Steve Chou
In fact, another people does say some problem like that in the Chrome help forum.
- Steve Chou
@Steve Chrome dev version 3.0.192.1 (released within last few hours) fixes the drag-and-drop not working to the bookmarks bar. Worth a try.
- Warren Butler
And when I told Google chrome team on Twitter, they just told me turn to dev version with some unstable extention as here: https://twitter.com/ChromeB... ,but I don't want that.

The ability to assign links to a group, that would spawn all items in that group into new tabs. Like if I want to read all my "News Links" in the morning, one click and all 5 news sources open.
- Matthew DeVries
There's no built-in way to do this yet, but you can use ctrl-click (on Windows) or command-click (on Mac OS X) to open bookmarks in new tabs/windows.

For the last month or so, Friendfeed has been inconsistent in importing the description/comments from my Delicious bookmarks. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. Not sure if this is a Friendfeed or a Delicious issue. Anyone else having this problem?
We (delicious) have not changed anything in regards to our feeds. Typically either FF (and other services) will get everything or nothing. If you send a message to FF via their help, they'll hunt it down - and contact me if need be.
- Dave Dash
Ok, thanks. I posted to FF Feedback, as well.

Hmm, thanks for the link. It looks like one person considers this spyware/adware for an unknown reason. I clicked the "Request Comment" button to see if more people can check it out. It's just weird because I've used this software and recommended it to other people, and it's always seemed fine to me.

…there is much more screen space on an iphone and most modern mobile internet devices?
- dK
This is just a first step. See http://support.delicious.com/forum... - "In the future we also plan to support more device specific skins, we are actively working on a native iPhone app as well."

"If you import delicious to FriendFeed, go to FriendFeed now and click 'refresh' on the delicious service. Some bug stopped it autoupdating." - http://twitter.com/andypip...
Sync eats up memory, constantly running; many tags missing on suggestions; large discrepancies between machine and web; have re-installed several times; done full sync; experiencing same problems on different machines. Where can I find the old one?
- joneilortiz
I've seen that but you can go to the Add-ons window in FF, choose the delicious extension's preferences and disable synchronisation. Made a big difference for me.
- Andy Murdoch
The current version at least doesn't hang on my 5000+ bookmarks, so that's at least an improvement to before. I don't know if it's in sync though: Too many tags. :)
- Meryn Stol
Switched to classic mode; works fine, though the pop-up loads a lot slower than the last version. I guess I have too many tags & bookmarks, but I would have expected the new extension to take power users into consideration. Anyway, thanks for the help, all!
- joneilortiz
I quit using the delicious extension when I started using shareaholic.
- Beebo Wallace
I considered that but it opens the bookmark window in a new tab, instead of as a pop-up. Is there a way to change those settings?
- joneilortiz
Hmm, the pop-up should handle large numbers of tags OK, but we're still working on optimizing this. One reason it may load a little slower than the Normal Mode window (depending on your setup) is because it's a request to the Delicious site instead of being entirely local. I'll check out Shareaholic.
- britta
Seems like Shareaholic uses what we call the "full save" interface. You can get a pop-up button directly from http://delicious.com/help... if you like.
- britta
The pop-up for the old version = full mode in the new FF extension. The new bookmarklet pop-up = classic mode in the new extension. The first one worked perfectly before the upgrade (i.e. it accurately suggested bookmarks at the speed of typing), but the second, while slower to pop-up and load, presents them to view. I don't really use the browser sidebar menu (-I prefer Cocoalicious) so I'm happy to trade a little speed for a good pop-up interface. Over all I'm happy with the changes.
- joneilortiz
I asked you this on Twitter, but since you're online... Would you like admin powers? Since you're an official Delicious employee and all. ;-) Then you can nuke the spam yourself. :D

It must send selected text to 'Notes' field - like this one: http://tinyurl.com/58ywsg (now broken) - The official one doesn't do that here (FF3 on Linux Ubuntu)
- Opensource Obscure
a person put together an experimental update at http://tinyurl.com/66hhza - but when i tried it, it crashed my macbook pro. so, it might be worth a try but i'd be careful.
