Tonight I was supposed to go to a meeting at my town's environmental center. I usually get there early to help set up, and when I got there tonight, everything in the building — tables, chairs, floor, etc. — was covered in a fine, gritty white powder.

At first I thought it looked like pulverized concrete, so I thought maybe it drifted in from construction work outside the building. So I helped a few other people clean up a table and some chairs enough to get things started.

One other person (who arrived late) thought we should call the police so they could document it. Then while we were waiting for the police to arrive, she noticed the building's fire extinguisher was about 50 feet away from the building.

So it looks like someone broke into the building, and then used the fire extinguisher to douse everything inside. The police are investigating it.

There is a side door that is usually locked but isn't quite secure, so that may have been how they got in.

So nothing looked burned? It was just sprayed everywhere with no rhyme or reason? It could have been some punk kid that was bored.
