Great pictures, very sexy and tasteful.

yeah, i have some mixed feelings about the topless women. we had a discussion a couple of weeks ago about nudity appearing in flickr favorites. no one liked it when it was male nudity. I don't object to this. i just have mixed feelings about it. (yes, i know i can hide it. ;) )

I don't see the problem with nudity. Male or female.
- Alejandro
There is art, there is porno, while I've been know to enjoy both, the art is always welcome, male or female

Gorgeous shots of people and places. I'll take nudity over violence any day of the week. Quick story: worked at Blockbuster one summer. Mom comes in irate over 10 year old seeing Mel Gibson's butt in Bird on a Wire. Demands freebie and selects shoot 'em up Tango & Cash with Sly Stallone. *sigh*
- AJ Kohn
Very nice indeed. I like the way some of it highlighted the beauty of the human anatomy
- Jason
I photograph nudes, so I tend to favorite nudes on Flickr. A lot of them don't show up here because most of us nude photographers mark our photos Moderate or Restricted. But sometimes when the photographer doesn't do that, they end up here. I'm sure the majority of people who subscribe to my feed are aware of it and don't mind, but the friend-of-a-friend feature is problematic.
- Michael Hocter
I don't photograph nudes (obvious to anyone who follows my photography), but I really appreciate great nude photography, male or female. The contours of the human body are just as beautiful as any other shapes we photograph.
- Dawn M. Armfield
@Dawn M. Armfield - I think you summed it best; wholly agree.
- JA Castillo
This is all very nice, and I read Hutch Carpenter's reasonably worded post about nudity on FriendFeed. But judging from the response to my accidentally shared male nude (how coy that sounds) in which a few people attributed to me, if not malice, then dastardly mischief, I'm guessing that most would not welcome sharing pix by Robert Mapplethorpe, or someone like him. His work straddles a line, doesn't it? Not so simple.
- Rick Powell
Do what you do man, if people don;t want it they can not follow you. Seems simple to me.

@Rick - if you wanted to originate Mapplethorpe, I'd say do it all you want. People can decide whether to subscribe to you or not. It's the Likes and Comments where it gets complicated. I personally would refrain from Likes/Comments on Mapplethorpe pix. But there is a chaotic aspect to FriendFeed that frankly is part of what makes it interesting.
- Hutch Carpenter
Here's my take on it. Thumbnails like this aren't obvious even if my kids are hanging over me. Rick, I honestly didn't see your image until I heard the flap over it. I'm on a MBP 15", so they are small enough that I can tell they are nudes if I pay attention, but I'd have to click to see anything. In contrast, the one that Igor the Troll posted was VERY obvious, even at a relative distance. I'd like the option to hide ALL images for those of us with SFW/SFK issues and that would solve the whole thing.
- Cyndy
Hutch, I agree, and it seems intentional, judging from the broad TOS. Cyndy: an all-hide option seems reasonable. To all: I'm not wringing my hands over it or anything, I just don't think the line between porn and art is all that clear and it's a bit naive to think everyone's going to agree where that line is. For my part, I object to the whole concept of a line at all. But then, I would. ;-)
- Rick Powell
keep doing your thing michael! . it's not a matter of "taste." taste is subjective anyway. it's a matter or having the freedom to do it provided you're not exploiting or harming anyone, which michael hocter obviously isn't.
- Cee Bee
Great pictures Michael. I always find it amusing when people get in a flap over pictures of the human body. It's BREASTS people - get over it! Your children are not going to be mentally traumatised for life after seeing women's breasts!! Man oh man.
- Mark O'Neill
Great photos. It's a shame people are getting their panties in a twist over someone favoriting nudes. Great photos and thanks for sharing them.
- Jim Goldstein
@Jim Goldstein, Mark O'Neill: no one got their panties in a twist over this post. there was no flap.
- edythe
Agree that the line between art and porn is incredibly vague, but there's no porn here. Great shots.
