just went to look at this site, clicked the link for "Wi-Here lists free locations in the UK - To show all hotspots, just leave the form blank and click 'Show me the hotspots'." and my antivirus detected a threat trying to access my pc so be careful with this site.
- Wayne Brewin
Hi Isha! I'd like to do it again - let me know where and when for all future meets & I'll aim to make as many as I can! Cheers, H
- Howard Moorey
I see that link now Wayne. To see the free wifi places I didn't click on it, tho - I just scrolled down until I saw England (my country) & the towns & venues are listed below that. Thanks for the information
- Isha (Marysia)
Thanks for taking the time creating this action list.
- David
Dude, I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to get flowers and chocolates delivered to you in Indonesia -- that's how badly I want to say Thank You.
- LJF Wolffe
Barb, David, LJF Thanks for your kind words.. and others who liked this too.

I've just spent 16 hours straight going through all the PreSeason lessons and was worried that I may have missed something in my rush to catch up. This list is a lifeline... Thank you Hendry :-)
- Mark Roach
VERY well done, Hendry. Thanks for sharing!!
- Mark
Hendry, I think Ed should recognize you as the official "librarian" of this challenge. When we go over things with the videos they're all really clear, but it's your cheat sheets I turn to a few days later when I'm trying to do it again but don't remember all the steps. THANKS1
- liz
Updated for Day 12... Thanks Umit and Liz!
- Hendry Lee
These are so helpful Hendry! I can watch the video and then open the PDF so I don't forget anything from the video. Totally Awesome!! Thank you so very much!
- Debbie
Day 18 updated. Ed Shaz, Mike, Debbie: Thanks!

Hubpage is flagged as 'over promotional' - "when a user has linked to the same site both in the body of the text and in an RSS feed capsule, especially when these make up the bulk of the outbound links on the Hub." Good guide to getting it right.

Useful. I had a link in the article plus the feed. The moderator says in this item that feeds are ok, even with multiple links within them, so long as there is no other link to the same site on the page. So i took out the link in the article... Have resubmitted it, hope to be successful this time.

Trust is important. I'm suspicious of a company that does this sort of thing
- Michael Carlson
I think this is a good thing - its a computer and if malware gets out there - it's important to disable - The way they communicated this though sux - anybody who consults to Apple on this should be pummeled....
- Ed Dale
Seems like the press have been following Frank Kern's advice ;o) Seriously though, Ed's comment is correct - Apple have always said that they are more worried about malware on their network than anything, which is why they took so long to allow 3rd party apps in the first place. Look at it this way, if your iPhone becomes your one-stop-shop internet and communications device, would you rather there was someone zapping the bad apps or would you rather leave it to chance that you won't lose all your data?
- Dominic Goucher
I realize I'm behind everyone else - but I'm having a difficult time narrowing down possible niches. Trying to keep a list and tell myself to do the others later. But geez! Market Sammurai makes this too easy! And too hard! - What did you do to get past the "pick one & go with it" hurdle?
Meg, it helps if you take the pressure off yourself. I found something I liked and then the more I looked at it the less attractive it became until I started to get discouraged. My advice is to pick the best one you have, even if it is less than ideal. Go ahead and create your blog, etc. You can keep analyzing data and looking for something better. If you find it, you can start again...

- Glenna
Well said, Glenna. I just gave someone else the same advice. Bob
- Bob Diamond
Meg, here's a weird suggestion that actually works. Take two choices and flip a coin. But before you look to see if it's heads or tails, ask yourself "was I hoping that heads would win? Or tails?". Let your intuition guide your choice and, as Glenna said, whether or not the choice is a dud you can always move to the next one on the list.
- Lee Witcher
I didn't really "pick one." I picked several and am exploring them all. I know it's not the right way to do it, but every good keyword close to my niche is either inaccurate, waaaay too broad, or trademarked (and I want to affiliate with the trademark holder, so using their keyword is a no-no). It's all right to hit a few sub-keywords as you go along, I think.
- Stephanie
Glenna hit it right on the nail. Go easy on yourself first and pick the easiest one. Once you get the hang of it, you can pick something you really like and have fun with it.
- Alain Tanguay
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Even though I planned on working on something new with everyone else, I'm also considering just using these new skills in the niches that I'm already playing with. But then there's so many new niches popping up all over the place - It's like finding new candy!
- Meg
What did i do? I came up with 10 ideas, ran them through MS and all of them looked like duds... but i picked the best of the bunch and am running with that.

That's it folks in a nutshell, awesome share ED, I also noticed at the end in the "what I want you to do" a little fear factor " no refunds and if you quit, you will NEVER get back in" Oh no, never? better stay a member, also limited membership creates what they call scarcity as well "only X spots in " "only available until XX" technique moves folks in the take action cycle
- JuneM
Gary Halbert simplicity: 1. Have something IMPORTANT to say. 2. Say it in an EXCITING way. (Ed is a master at doing this.) I used this in my "How to Attract More Clients" talk last weekend at the NGH conference. Even a novice marketer can understand this and change their communications immediately.
- Craig Eubanks
Worth pointing out, though, that multiple ids and emails can cover a multitude of sins...

"to avoid just spammy lenses which are nothing but some EBAY mdoules and other sales modules plus links, squidoo adds NO FOLLOW initially. The quickest way to get out of this is : Just follow follwoing 3 steps: 1. Try adding few more text modules ...just one or two more. 2. Edit few times your lens over nest few hours. Say you already ahve a text mdoule, even if you don't add any text, just click EDIT then SAVE and then PUBLISH LENS. This way you are telling squidoo that you are making your lens fresh. And squidoo loves it. 3. Just RELAX have a cop of tea or coffe or even DRINK In Next 1-2 days your Lens will be runing without NO FOLLOW links. I hope this helps you" Good advice for squid lenses

Linda, thanks for posting this, it should help people with this issue that seems to be worrying quite a few 30DC'ers

Only lenses that are WIP (Work In Progress) are tagged "nofollow" - these will be removed after the next daily Lensrank update (about 13:00 UTC).

I found a WordPressDirect Support Video where they explain the recent problems with 30DC challengers. If you have problems with WPD just take a look. - http://www.viddler.com/explore...
my missus has been reading xkcd for ages, it's really funny, if a little surreal at times - don't forget to hover your mouse over the comic strip images to see the hidden messages (which are often the funniest bit)

Ed, - I LOVE this quote I really love this...it always makes me think of Rabbi Lapin that taught for you to prosper you need to help others...money isn't limited like a cake, where if I eat it, then it is gone...money is like a candle, you share your candle to light my candle and then there are 2 candles, then 4, etc. then there is more light in the room, not less. The same with money,...

Ed, thanks for the inspiration quote, like @girlie I believe that the way to prosper is to share what we have and create a community of people around us. What a great way to sum that up.
- Dominic Goucher
I'm behind - Day 4. I am applying what I learn in the 30DC to my current online business, which is service based not product based. My services are my product. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'd like to make contact with someone who is so that I can pick their brains. So many questions!
some of my product ideas are service-based, so I've tried to step back from them for a while and see how 30DC pans out. I plan to find a "less precious" product and use it to learn from Ed and the team THEN see how it all applies to my stuff (if that makes sense).
- Dominic Goucher
I have a service business as I have a service business as well. I have applied these skills. with great results. Now that I am in the 30dc cahwell. I have applied these skills. with great results. Now that I am in the 30dc I have found a wealth of keywords to drive even more traffic. I'm also test a new site along with my product site which is a spin off of my service site.

Thanks peeps. I'll skip the affiliate stuff for the time being and get on with practicing writing some content for future articles and blogs (article and blog virgin!). Day 6 here I come! Now, bedtime as 1:30am in Oz... Where does the time go?
- Cassie Hower
I suggest finding something to practice with (perhaps in a new niche?) so that you get the full experience. That's what I'm doing.
- Dominic Goucher
who isnt behind :) my goodness this is information overload major!
- Graeme
How about we set up a friendfeed room to discuss this topic?
- Jeff Korentayer
Can you find a niche companion product related to your service? For instance if you are a housekeeper, you could talk about clean household air and then link up to an air purifier as an affiliate product or sell an ebook about reducing allergens in the home.
- mpayton
I too am behind, I am just starting day 7, and have been at it all day. I have this idea. I am the webmaster of www.countyfairgrounds.net and have an undeveloped store area. So what if I plug the wordpressdirect.com into my store address and use that? Our site is about to open also a brand new subscription service, I think I will try the store however first.
- Karen Riedl
I had some of the same issues. My business is service-based, but I've created information products: teleworkshops, an e-book, etc. My twitter ID is roxanneravenel.
- Roxanne Ravenel
I've got a room set up if anyone wants to join to discuss this further - 30DC 080808. I've had a think about this and think I'll stick with my current product - me! But what I'll do is do the affiliate thing with Amazon and blog it etc using a product many of you are familiar with - Getting Things Done by David Allen. Along with the spiel about the book I'll also throw in content referring to the virtual assistant industry, using my keyword, then pointing back to my website. How's that?
- Cassie Hower
Cassie, I'm also applying the 30DC to my service based business. My twitter ID is berylpowell
