I don't really trust a DNS service that uses my requests to serve targetted ads at me. I truly wish we could come up with a mechanism to cover costs without going to the teet of the ad industry!
- alphaxion
I love OpenDNS. I can really tell the difference in my browsing speed when I use it, versus when I use my ISP's DNS. It's also a lot safer, I know that it can't be spoofed.

That's actually a very good explanation... I might have to lift that one in a training class.

@Yolanda - Darn, still don't get it :( Guess I'll look it up tomorrow..
- Yuvi
You have to watch that Yuvi. It's a classic. ;-)
- AJ Batac :)
The movie is about a young girl who is possessed by demons. In one popular scene, her head spins around... very similar to the cat in the pic. But, yes, you should see the movie. :)
- Yolanda
Matt, this one was reshared from the original, which was posted via the bookmarklet. Perhaps it is only animated gifs that are uploaded directly that do not work?
- Phil Glockner
I like Duracell they have been more reliable for me but I have not used Energizers in years. I even worked in the same complex as Energizer in St Louis but stayed with Duracell.
- David Z
My hand automatically reaches for Duracell but I've gone through 6 AAAs this month (mouse) LOL @ Matt!
- Mona Nomura
I've been told that all alkaline batteries are the same. They only differ in the labels people put on them. I always buy the generic CostCo brand batteries and they work just fine.
- iTad
Mona - this definitely has to be related to your involvement in FriendFeed. I think you need rechargables. Better for the environment too :)
- Justin Korn
JK: I'm going to have to agree to that... It may be cheaper to invest in a new mouse LOL @Tad: I don't have a Costco card =(
- Mona Nomura
I use the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 or whatever and it lasts me around 6 months before I need to change the batteries. I think you should get a new mouse haha.

I haven't heard Loveline in years but I do enjoy Dr. Drew. But is bullying and the Internet really a topic appropriate for that show? I don't see the connection there.
- Sally - Skyrimmin' It
@Brian, yes it's amusing for us adults, but imagine a 13yr old... I would be devastated!
- Zulema ⋅ spicy cocoa tart
I'm not sure why cyberbullying is even an issue. It's not like there isn't bullying everywhere else in adolescent environments. A kid kills himself/herself over being bullied in school it makes the local paper. Throw a computer in the mix and it becomes national news. It's just the latest scapegoat, blame the medium cause it's most convenient.
- Geoff Schultz {TF}
@Geoff Shultz: I agree completely. Further, of all the different kinds of bullying out there, "Cyber" is probably the most inconsequential.
- Eric P
@Geoff, I think the mixing of adolescence and computer culture is a relatively new experience especially with things like MySpace and FaceBook, so I do think the topic is worth exploring. @Sally, I remember in the early days of loveline the show was very much "STD's and I like this girl, but..." But, it seems to have evolved into something more. Dr.Drew is not only passionate about spreading the word on the disease of addiction, he also shows a great concern for human behavior--how we treat each other.
- Anna Haro
you should talk about bullying while playing games.
- Ryan
@Brian Yes, I agree :) A victim of bullying by someone they know--whether online or not--is a still a victim. It seems that these teens who are bullying each other use the internet as an extension of their infliction of pain on others. @Geoff, yes, whenever something like myspace is involved it becomes national news and reporters gobble that shit up. Kids are being bullied every day and not just online!
- Zulema ⋅ spicy cocoa tart
That is damn funny. I might have to do that with my son's keitai the next time he screws up!
- Scott Jarkoff
just hope that when you're in that wheelchair later on in life your son won't send you rolling downhill by "accident"
- Cee Bee
HA! Because of the father's disciplining methods, I'm sure the son won't do something like that ;) I'm no parent, but if I were? You better believe "No Halo forever" equates to hammering the console up on the tree. EF that!
- Mona Nomura
Now does the tree come with the xbox? Ebay sale says "XBOX nailed to tree".
- Jay Martin
I'm kind of surprised the tree isn't leaning at all - as we all know, the original xbox was giant.
- Stellina
Once you see the ring of death you have only 7 days to live... without your xbox while it gets repaired.
- Kevin Fox
BEAUTIFUL! (Also, the RRoD is only on the 360... that's just an Xbox up there). I'm saving this one to show the kids. Their Wii may be there by the end of the week.
- Cyndy
I know (I've had 2 already)... but for comedic purposes I thought it ok to borrow it...
- Johnny
Kevin Carter's Pulitzer 1994 pic is really depressing :(
- Bee
omg that blowfish!! i want to slice it up and eat it!! kidding, folks!
- Mona Nomura
@BeeLing, I know, I can't look at that photo and NOT cry. That kind of pain and death paves the road to hopelessness--I was not at all surprised by his suicide shortly there after. :(
- Anna Haro
Carla, both are doing great. We're wrapping up a four day weekend at my parents, and on division of duty, both are at risk of the iPhone camera when I have them. And Chris, feel free to use the photo.
- Louis Gray
Cuteness ends to the point when you hear small child screaming all of the nights during week full of work. But to be realistic, that's normal.
- Daniel Schildt
Like'ing things is to make sure as many people see those things as possible. It may feel wrong to click Like on some items you see, but you would be doing your followers a disservice if you don't bring these items to their attention.
- Rah-PM 2012
I agree - the "like" is just a checkmark in the spirit of giving a post attention.
- Steve Isaacs
I think this is a very good advice. There were some post much against my grain that were totally racist and another were they show grusome stuff .. I liked both, not becuase I liked what happened, rather it was a thread of intensence understanding.
- Peter Dawson
As long as the choice is "like," I don't intend to "like" something I don't like. Maybe one day where there is a "dislike" choice, I might use it. But I have no intention of bringing attention to something I don't "like."
- ComicList
I think you might possibly be missing the point, Charles.
- Rah-PM 2012
I take it as "I would LIKE to feed this post to others to get their reaction"
- Johnny
I may be missing the point, Rasheen. Of course, I don't have very many people waiting to see what I like or dislike, so my point in the end might be pointless.
- ComicList
trish: wasn't quite prepared for that mental picture! lmao.
- Bill Sanders
Now did I just "like" that because I liked it or because I wanted to show I wasn't afraid or?? :P
- Mark Forman
To forestall confusion, I refrain from using a "like" on things that involve death. But other than that, I "like" a lot of things that I don't like. (Incidentally, I have no objection to people adding a "like" to MY posts that involve death, in case anyone's wondering.)
- Ontario Emperor
If I can't like the post for whatever the cause, I tend to comment if it catches my attention. I do like "lick" though. ;-P
