OK! I've been slacking on the 30DC. It was too hard to keep up with it while traveling. But, I'm back and raring to go! Also, I will keep on with this after 8/31.

Ed spoke about article attribution in today's show. Here's another site that you might like - Helium. It's like Ezine Articles, etc. - http://www.helium.com
Associated content is also another good article site. The reason to use Ezine Articles is it gives a lot of link juice to your backlink. Helium and Associated Content don't give you as much backlink juice to improve your page rank (PR) and search engine results position (SERP)

Have either of you tried to cash out? Cause I think if you do it'll ask for it. Or if you make over 500/year then it will.
- Chad
no, i havent, the reason i started the 30DC was because i wasnt making a lot from it. Any way to get around it if it asks for it?
- adam jeremiah
from twhirl
U can get amazon gift certs and then it won't ask. But if it sends you a check you have to put it in for tax reasons. If your making a ton you might ask your parents to get an EIN number from the IRS. This is free and is tied to an SSN. So if the EIN got leaked you won't be at risk. (Check out what clickbank suggests)
- Chad
That one I don't know, but I'd assume any cash movement they need a number since they have to report it to the IRS.
- Chad
oh right ok, well i dont really want vouchers... but if its the best way to get around it then ill go for them and maybe sell them on... or use them i dont know yet

If you're overseas I believe you don't need any tax info. I hope somehow I can get around Amazon rules!
- diddledumsticks
If you are a US citizen and have to pay US taxes you MUST give them an SSN or EIN. That way no one gets arrested :) . If you reside in a different country then I have no idea.
- Chad
Instead of setting Nathan up with his own account, I'm just having him use my account with his own tracking code so I can tell what is his. I give him anything he earns. I didn't try to sign him up for his own account because it was easier to just use mine. It was already set up. All we had to do was build his links.

Depending on age of the child, watch out for increased tax rate of the "kiddie tax". Teens fall into a certain higher tax bracket for their earnings over some amount, I'm sorry this is so vague, but the tax bracket was put in place to keep parents and grandparents from sheltering wealth by using the UGMA and UTMA. The amount of money is pretty high compared to working and earning money, but if your child happens onto one of those high-paying niches, be prepared to file tax returns for them.

It's August 23 and I'm just joining. Didn't get started on TDC until about August 8 this year. Did the 2007 challenge and wasn't sure I wanted to do it again but so glad I am. What a difference a year makes in tools and methods. Ed, Dan and Rob rock! I wish the internet marketing you pay for were this good. It's not, if you haven't bought any of those really expensive thousand dollar or...

I use 30DC training to improve my other niche project
- Jeremy
So the sale offer thing is a glitch. If you pick a template that has no sales ad post here, I'll post the solution
- Chad
I'm using TDC for a new blog I developed for this year's challenge, and I always apply what I learn to all my blogs. Most of what I have online came out of the 2007 challenge, except the two sites I set up this summer.

According to Ed on the show, it's all easy cruisin' from now on. I hope so. As an SEO newbie, Market Samurai was hard to figure. Of course, now that I've got it, it's pretty easy. So, tomorrow, we're supposed to find out how to start making $$$. Can't wait!
same here... finding it quite hard to find something good

be patient. 95% of time will spend on market research, this is just the beginning
- Jeremy
yeah i know, but it just seems like everyone has gone off and done their homework, but im struggling:P lol

It was easier for me because I've been blogging all year, and I know the search terms that brought some readers to my blog (from using FeedBurner. Now, for Kayla and Alex, we just took their current interests in Pokemon and Star Wars and found the synonymous keyword that works for a microniche. We didn't put too much energy into that. Already, they're complaining that they don't want to be locked into those limited topics. That's OK for them since this is a learning process.
- Sandra Foyt
that's cool! I am looking forward to building content.. :)
- Jeremy
I have some of your Twitters, but not all. Go ahead and post your Twitter here so we can follow each other. Mine is sandrafoyt. - http://twitter.com/SandraFoyt
Nice to have you around. Just wondering, how old are you?
- Elferkid
Adam, good to see you here! Hope you had great success finding a niche to work with, and make money from. More tomorrow.
- Sandra Foyt
elferkid - I'm 16, 17 in October Sandra - well I'm still working on it but there's a couple of hours before the next videos so I'll get onto it
- adam jeremiah
After much, much pain we have determined what our niches will be. I ended up doing the analysis for Alex and Kayla. We didn't want to install the program on each of the laptops, and I don't think it would've worked well on our older laptops. In some ways, it was easier to find niches for the kids. They just went for subsets of their current interests - Pokemon and Star Wars. It was harder for me to find a way to convert my current writing interest into something that is being searched for online.
- Sandra Foyt
ive played around with it a bit, its quite good, looking forward to new releases with things such as adwords, monetization, where this beast should truly shine
- adam jeremiah
Has anyone started to screw around with Market Samurai? Any luck? I ran a couple test groups: Football conditioning and Learning electric guitar had some promise for me after some tweakin. Virtual world search had too low results for the phrase match. Anyone else?
I was doing well with my search, but then I put it aside to run searches for my kids. And, it stalled out while searching Teen Cooks. It might have been looking into "Teens." Anyway, I taking a break & going back later.
- Sandra Foyt
My niche ideas are: books that boys like; supply and demand; demand; pictures of people with me; scratch games; pokemon; virtual worlds.
- Leperdy
I'm doing Kayak fishing! Dustin has not decided on his niche yet, but I would love suggestions.
- Lesa
Kayak Fishing sounds like a good, specific niche. My problem is that I tend to be all over the place. Now, for the Teens, one idea might be to look at the list of 100+ Virtual Worlds, pick a favorite, and choose that as a niche. Recently, one of the more successful Teen bloggers focused exclusively on Neopets and Neopet cheats. Or, does Dustin have a hobby or special interest? For example, another good niche might be skateboarding.
- Sandra Foyt
I like Star Wars, Spying, Humor, Teens, Rock Climbing, Skateboarding, Skiing, and Snowboarding. Lesa- Maybe Dustin would want to write about a sport he likes?
- Elferkid
O i forgot most teens fave thing, food. (Id <3 a korean pankake a stick of celery and a slice of piza right about now.)
- Elferkid
More Niche Ideas: Funniest You Tubes, Science You Tubes, Pokemon You Tubes
- Sandra Foyt
Just quoting from my post: Card games (Magic and the like) , D&D (Table top gaming true geeks only ), you said Star Wars this opens the MMOs (WoW, SWG, City of Heros/Villans etc) along with the real life sims (There, Second Life, etc), Webkinz (Cousin loves em), General Sports (training, equipment), Computer security (to protect tweens/teens).
- Chad
Adding a few more: Fitness (ok so it's a big cat but we could break it down), Lego and other construction type stuff, scrap booking (might be out of the age range anyone here try it?), For wired learning what about video conferencing, or VOIP stuff like skype. I'll keep thinkin
- Chad
magic tricks, cruise travel, solar energy... still got a lot more
- Jeremy
Combining the fitness and the sports is not a bad idea! He is really into football and he could do something on the conditioning needed and the training required.
