Nice podcast from lullabot : most common mistakes when starting to use drupal. Also 5 min before end - there's a mention of 'migrate' module, which builds on 'table wizard', 'schema wizard' and schema api. Sounds like great import workflow.

Setting up mod_proxy_balancer using apache. Note that the syntax may include a subdirectory in each member of the load balance group by using syntax like - "BalancerMember http://192.168.1.50:80/dir..." This is needed if the ruby app is being deployed to a subdirectory.

Agrivating morning spent trying to understand how drupal menu.inc works. Built a small bit of code to include in an external page- bootstrap drupal and output the primary and secondary menus as if we were a native drupal node.
This might be useful in future, but probably best now to stick with menus generated by dreamweaver for the static bit, and to copy a similar structure into the drupal primary menu.

This looks handy. BBC iplayer programmes have a permalink and allow creation of a link to a particular point in a video. Not just bookmark this video, but share a bookmark for point 1h17m into the video.

Using an html input-text type element rather than input-password might mean that the hint that the browser normally gets about forgetting or autocompleting the field are lost. This would mean that your password field behaved differently from the way that users have configured their browser and a mismatch between behaviopur and expectations of password fields on other sites. Moodle uses an 'unmask' checkbox to dynamically change the type from password to input.

There is an importXML("url","xpath") which allows you to extract information from external sources using xpath, and also a couple of more user friendly functions importHtml and importFeed which allow a simple import of list number 5 or table no 4 or part of an RSS feed

Some help with adding CSS files, scripts, feed icons, changing page title from within a custom Drupal module (without rewriting the HTML strings).

Spotted this in the Guardian this morning. Border security in US doing a trial -- they have put couple of hundred webcams online, and add a 'report now' button. Mechanical turk meets law enforcement. How would you bribe a virtual border guard? Paypal, or perhaps carry a big sign with amazon voucher code.

Who's Stalking? That's one of those URLs which really needs a hypen. - like the classic mistake of a pen company launching their website called pen island.com.
