The Thanos tag was added by Joss, but plays into what Marvel wants to do in Guardians of the Galaxy, coming in 2014.
So is Guardians of the Galaxy like "Avengers 2"?

Stark Tower is theoretically now Avengers Tower, which is what it was in the comics.
This park scene was shot in Central Park. On Labor Day weekend. It was a zoo apparently.
You can see the original ending on the Bluray. It was Hill talking to the council then cutting them off & joining Fury.
So this Stan Lee cameo had to be added, because his other cameo was cut with the other Cap sequences.
The whole shawarma line was improv on the day off between Whedon & Downey.

the idea being that the Shawarma restaurant is the last thing he saw before taking off
Also forgot to mention, but if you go back to the moment before he takes off to grab the nuke, you'll see a Shawarma restaurant behind him.
This shot is the only time RDJ was on set for the climactic battle

Hawkeye #1, the new Marvel comic, opens with that shot of Hawkeye shooting up at the camera.
Notice Loki's little whimper there. I missed that every time in theatres.
