Re: Personal Update: Why I Stepped Down as Pastor - http://mikekim.tv/why-i-s...
"Thanks Mike for sharing about your decision-making process and a bit of what your transition looks like. I couldn't write one so articulately when I transitioned out of pastoring. We need more good examples of how a person's work life takes on different jobs and careers along the way, and fewer people today would have a singles profession life, and how it can be okay for someone to work as a pastor for a time and not necessarily for a lifetime." - djchuang

Re: New Top Level Domains for Photographers, Grab Them While They Last - http://petapixel.com/2014...
"What's great about this new Internet namespace expansion is precisely for the non-English people, because they will be able to get Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) in their own language and character set! These 4 are already live: شبكة (xn—ngbc5azd) – Arabic for “web/network” онлайн (xn—80asehdb) – Russian for “online” сайт (xn—80aswg) – Russian for “site” 游戏(xn—unup4y) – Chinese for “game(s)”" - djchuang

Re: Why Do So Many Pastors Leave the Ministry? The Facts Will Shock You - http://www.expastors.com/why-do-...
"These are shocking and sad statistics, and a lot of them fit my experience as an ex-pastor myself. Would you have the citations & sources of these statistics? And what else would it take to solve the problems, in addition to a blog with articles and the opportunity for online conversations?" - djchuang

Re: Platform and Publishing - http://www.patheos.com/blogs...
"Just wondering out loud, what if Christian publishers were to do something like "corporate responsibility" and make a more visible effort to champion high-quality books with less-obvious audience & market for sales, because a book should be published and it should have readers? Hard call to make, but that'd be refreshing to see.. the world has changed, dramatically, and I'd be curious to see how publishers will make dramatic changes." - djchuang

Re: Platform and Publishing - http://www.patheos.com/blogs...
"Someone could very well come along and selectively choose the books that have quality idea and great writing, without a platform yet, use low-cost print-on-demand technology to get the book distributed, and the word-of-mouth and word-of-mouse will in turn build the platform.. I think of "The Shack" as one of those gems that became a populist success without a traditional publisher.. (though quality is in the eye of the beholder..)" - djchuang

Re: Destroying Your Platform, Relinquishing Your Tribe, and my friend @AnnVoskamp - http://ragamuffinsoul.com/2013...
"I'd love to shout amen to this! I like the spiritual lingo, that Christ must increase, indeed; where I get stuck, and this is my confession, is what to do with the reality of still needing to have bills paid, since I'm not financially independent, and there's this whole other half of the equation for living out our faith and painting a fuller picture of what all this looks like." - djchuang

"Thanks for sharing a slice of your story here, very poignant, and racism is alive and well here in the US and around the world.. I find that racism gets addressed more vehemently in the US than other parts of the world, and perhaps having freedom of speech allows us to do that more.. and social media opens things up too.. keep using your voice well" - djchuang

"First, a word of thanks for inviting input from the public base of end users, a few of which would want to know they have access to engage with ICANN occasionally. As you've noted, the Internet is becoming more like a utility (like electricity or water in developed countries) that people want to know "it just works." Having the opportunity for input like these public commenting windows of time online is great. Additional live-event opportunities like webinars and an on-going blog or discussion board specifically designed to speak to registrants and normal people would be helpful to keep them engaged." - djchuang

Re: It’s Time to Stop Ripping Off the “I Am Second” Campaign - http://philcooke.com/its-tim...
"Good thoughts Phil, it'd be so much more impacting to have originality and creativity spurred on. How would you describe the difference of doing something as an imitation that'd be ripping off vs. inspiring other videos as a mashup and as a meme that spreads an idea to the masses, a la Gangnam Style videos all over YouTube and elsewhere? Is there also value in having a great idea built upon and shared widely that imitates a source idea?" - djchuang

Re: What Does Your Depression Feel Like? Mine Feels Like This… - http://ragamuffinsoul.com/2013...
"I'm perplexed at the disjointed numbers of 100 comments vs. 70% of church leaders having depression, both seem too high.. there's easily 100s of people that aren't church leaders more readily open to commenting and confessing struggle with depression, #handraised, myself included. I do find it hard to believe 70% on church would have this particular kind of struggle, maybe 70% have some type of debilitating struggle needing medical or professional help, that I can believe, that feels right, but not with depression per se. As for me, depression feels like losing motivation for everything, low libido, dark clouds that keep thoughts and feelings on the heavy and dark side constantly and can't shake it, it's not so much feeling like being hit by a ram truck but dragging a ram truck along when I have to take action on doing anything, everything takes more energy and effort. Yes, it's tiring. And dark. Good to know it's okay to get help, good to know I'm not alone; and I'll take all the..." - djchuang
