@jeremydmiller Yep, 'up and down the network stack, de/serializing as we go'. I done a lot of jobs where basically I just take stuff out
@jeremydmiller Irony is I've fixed more perf issues because of 'potential' scale-out of slow sys's rather than actual 'busy' perf issues
@jeremydmiller It's only 50% of my work, and it helps pay for other 50% :) I tend to be used in the 'we need to fix' stage, ie rewarding

@jeremydmiller I can. Lots of bad archs get tiers wrong i.e. logical==physical. They claim scale or security; both they dont measure first
