Core problem imo is the consumption-centric Web market economy which is sufficient for entertainment but not for more serious uses.
imo search-ability & paywalls do not seriously affect the health of the Web because economic factors are against them over time.

we found that only few sites actually locked session token to IP address, letting sessions to be shared & even kept alive for days.
