I'm not naive enough to think I can create world peace solo. But I CAN bring peace to my heart, thus helping to bring peace to my community.
If we can connect on a personal level, dialogue ensues, which leads to understanding. And that understanding counters fear and hatred.
Ashes to Hope was beautiful, extremely moving, and encouraged one-on-one interfaith dialogue as well as hope. Bravo, Rev. Marian! :)
If you're in the Seattle area, please come to 'Ashes to Hope,' an interfaith observance of 10 years since #9/11. See www.northlakeuu.org
I think interfaith dialogue is important. As we learn more about other faiths, they don't seem so foreign or scary. We all seek the Divine.
This event is hosted by the church I attend. The hope is that we create interfaith dialogue. Muslims will do their 1:07 prayers onstage.
Sunday, #9/11, interfaith event re: 10 yrs will be at Kirkland Perf Cntr (WA) @ 1:00 PM. Will be beautiful & quite moving. Please join us!
Mabon (Autumnal Equinox) approaches. It's a good time to consider balance - dark/light, yin/yang, and so forth.
May your day be blessed with peace, interwoven with a ribbon of laughter. Namaste!
May each of you be blessed with peace, prosperity, & abundant blessings. Samhain (aka Halloween) is the end & beginning of the year.
Money's tight, but I cannot complain. Beauty is all around me. Fall is in the air; I need to get ready for my fave holiday - Samhain! :D
Splurged today; bought roses for myself. I thanked people doing thankless jobs, et al. Did you also affirm peace & beauty? It's contagious!
I am quietly celebrating a gift from Spirit - time to relish the silence, and to again become comfortable in my own skin .
I am grateful that I've been able to post updates via text message. I miss you all, and hope to talk to you soon!
I hope to be back online by sometime next week. Must see if Netbook can run all the security programs. A pox on hackers! ;)
Just spoke to a friend whose wife died suddenly, 8 months ago. I ache for his loss. He feels numb, dealing with her belongings. Very hard.
And for those who may ask, I am ~not~ texting while driving, LOL. Safely arrived at appointment, no thanks to THAT guy.
Dude! Watched the guy behind me on the freeway put his contacts in while driving 60 mph! #batshitcrazy
Those who search for Truth // and journey afar, seeking // will find Truth within. #haiku #senryu
Life's joyous moments // ephemeral; gossamer // as dragonfly wings. #haiku #senryu
Within each moment // you'll find seeds of destiny // tend your garden well. #haiku #senryu
Look past the surface // see the kindred soul within // seeking connection. #haiku #senryu
I see within you // radiance everlasting // we are made of stars. #haiku #senryu
#Nature serenades // a cacophany of geese // plays the horn section. #hailku
Each of us has challenges invisible to the naked eye. Try taking a day & be as intentionally kind & compassionate as possible. See results!
I have the heart of a dragon, strong & true, and the soul of a Phoenix. I shall rise from the ashes, transformed. Celebrate YOUR victories!
It's taken me this long just to recover from being abandoned with no warning; 2/3 of household income simply walking away, never to return.
I eat lightly (down 50+ lbs since holidays), so I'll be able to set aside at least half my food budget and put it towards a new PC or iPad.
It's been six months since I was hacked & attacked, my online life virtually destroyed. Only web & email access is via phone. Need new PC!
Time to resume my creative work. Even (or especially!) recovering from brain trauma, the Zen-like flow of doing art will help center me.
