Pretty much, yeah. I'm more confident/outgoing online, but being more confident online has actually helped me be confident offline, too.

WoH, you are high up on my list of FFers I'd like to meet. I know for sure you must have 7 additional pairs of arms to do all the twittering, FFing, blogging, podcasting, Whedonesqueing, etc. that you do in addition to being a wife and mum.
- Spidra Webster
sort of? i'm kinda quiet in person as well.
- holly
I'm a little more fleshy in real life. Otherwise I'm much cooler on line and way more talkative. :D
- Adrian
what you see online is exactly what I'm like in person
- DJF
I think likely so. I feel introverted online, too. :)
- Ayşe E.
I'm the same whiny, rage-filled, self-loathing bitch in real life that I am on the internet.
- cecily
I'm definitely more quiet when you meet me in person.
- Derek Coward
Yes. I talk about the same stuff online as off and with the same style and tone. I'm just more verbose and comprehensive online.
- Jason Toney
from iPod
i'd say yes but then again i do tend to censor myself online because i know my family probably couldn't handle half of the shit i say aloud to my friends
- Cardeen Martinez
witty, acerbic & has a hard time shutting up once i feel comfortable around you? yep, i'd say so ;)
- Katie
:) thanks Spidra, although rumours of my Shiva-ness have been exaggerated! I hope we do meet up, I think we'd have lots in common :)
- WorldofHiglet
I think I'm fairly close to real life on my online life. I'm a bit less shy online though...
- Beau Liening
Oh yeah, I swear a lot in person, not so much online. *shrug*
- Derrick
That's about the only real difference I notice in my own behavior.
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I'm alot more outgoing in person, and my vocab online is hindered due to terrible spelling abilities hahaha =P
- Marissa
I am much more outgoing in real life. Internet small talk seems odd to me at times. In real life it seems more natural. I do read other people discussing topical subjects though. May be I am odd ?
- Eric Logan
That's what school and online spell checkers are for :P
- imabonehead
I'm probably quieter and more reserved offline. Still, I'm generally an amicable person, if the opinions of others are anything to go by...
- Tyson Key
i sort of doubt i'm much like my online self. probly some similarities. this didn't used to be the case.
- Joe Silence
Rochelle, it seems like online...people like me. Haha. Kidding. But I've had several people tell me that they think I have it together or that I'm super nice (I've been asked if I was in a caregiving career several times, even) or a 'sweetheart' and I think that people who know me offline would describe me more as selfish, loud, bossy, demanding, confusing, contrary, etc. Maybe I'm just not hearing from everyone who thinks I'm obnoxious because they've blocked me or something.
- joey
*is kind of shocked* you DO come off on here as being very nice.
- Joe Silence
joey, you were perfectly lovely when we spent the day at Disneyland. Although hell, maybe I was in bitch mode and we fell into sync. o_O
- Derrick
Unpossible! (to both of you) Y'all seem very friendly.
- Mary Carmen
Didn't use to be, but I've grown into my online self over the years. Used to be WAY more extroverted online - that's passed over into meatspace.
- Chrimmus Tad
most of the photos of me that i've posted are altered: one was a headshot and the others were used in the media... so, in some ways, no.

Oh, hell no! Who I am (or who you perceive me to be) differs and is dependent on where I am, what I am doing, who you are, and who you know. This is true online as well as off. I am like a giant magical diamond, with just as many facets to my personality, and people are only capable of seeing a small portion from whatever their vantage point is.
- April Russo (app103)
Pretty much. Actively removing filters so there is no difference.
- Justin Whitaker
I'm the same guy--I'd be recognizable to someone who had previously just known me one way or the other. I think the internet brings out different parts of my personality, though.
- s t e v e
I think so, although I guess people who know me both online & in-person could provide a better answer.

"Can I add you on the website?" Wouldn't that be nice? This is the next step I'd like to see with PSN - more functionality when you're away from your console. That's one thing I envy 360 owners for.
- aldenoneil
The 360 web site and service in general is far superior to the PlayStation. In this case you get what you pay for.
- Kol Tregaskes
Thanks everyone, I'll have to write all the users down and log into the PS3 and *slowly* type all of them in. Chore, Sony, sort out your web site!

http://www.google.com/reader... I'm glad you asked this right now. I just realized that several people are following me and I didn't even know it. I hope it hasn't been this way for long!
- Michael Fidler
Just noticed that Reader now allows grouping of people you follow! Wondering: is Reader going to become a competitor (instead of complement) to FriendFeed?
- Chris Rogers
@rogersdc / Chris, Google Reader is obviously been trying to become more social, but I'd really like to see FF come out with a bookmarklet that makes sub'ing RSS feeds to FF easier/faster. Right now it's a manual process involving either a new Group/Room or Imaginary Friend. Should be 2 clicks tops.. Also see: http://friendfeed.com/alexsch...
- Alex Schleber
Here is mine : http://www.google.fr/reader.... I share (mainly on French sites and blogs) about libraries, literature and arts, human and social sciences, photography :-)
- Nadine Pestourie
LOL here we go again :o) http://www.google.com/reader... I share a lot of blogs and funny stuff that I read, it's neat how I can share and it gets posted all over by friendfeed.
- David Gross
http://www.google.com/reader... - I share items about productivity, gaming, movies, and misc. stuff from the Google "cool" via Recommendations feed. Thanks Kol for starting this thread because I've been trying to cut down on the number of feeds I subscribe to and instead just follow interesting people.
- Dusty Edenfield
Svartling: good point about adding people to groups. I noticed I couldn't comment on items that were shared by some users.
- Dusty Edenfield
I've (we) written a lot of more good tips on how to use Google Reader in Google Reader comments. It's too bad we don't have permalinks in Greader so we can share our notes and comments. Otherwise I could have posted a link here. Here are some on friendfeed: http://friendfeed.com/svartli...
- Svartling
The conversation is really blowing up (in a good way) on Reader. The most important reminder currently is to set up groups and allow commenting. That is NOT on by default!
- Vince DeGeorge
Thank you all. I think I have subscribed you all now (except those feed in languages I don't understand) Here is mine again: http://www.google.com/reader...

I've started to follow a few of the people here but there's quite a few, so will take me a while :) - My currently fairly bare feed is: http://www.google.com/reader...

There are a few entries here you might like to read to help you. This one: http://ff.im/6CkQj explains about adding people to groups to allow them to comment and why some don't stay in groups. In this one: http://ff.im/6F9pQ I suggest a way to track a large number of shared items using PostRank. This: http://ff.im/6Ci0P and this: http://ff.im/6AM35 has a few tips on using GReader as a lifestreaming service. And this: http://ff.im/6EMT1 gives a few examples of GReader bundles.

- Dennis Jernberg
Because I have issues with data duplication, I have merged this list with the google reader shares room feeds. You can view the Google spreadsheet at http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...
- Rob Diana
There are a bunch of shared feeds that I could not resolve the Google username for because they did not have a named profile set up.
- Rob Diana
tristanhambling, your link didn't work. :-(
- Kol Tregaskes
It would be really handy to have all these shared feeds as an opml file. Has anyone added everyone? Care to export an opml of the shared feeds?

I'm http://www.google.com/reader... Not really comfortable with the custom URL though since it can only be your gmail username. Makes it really easy for spamspiders I think.

MF/Kol = I live in Kingston on Thames. It's OK apart from the traffic (continually gridlocked) and the shops (girls just lurve them). Handy for getting into London both airports and out to the Thames Valley for work type things. Richmond Park and the river in walking distance is great too.
- Andy C
Andy, Richmond Park and the others around there are the appeal really. Good place to go photographing and cycling while being very close to London I think.
- Kol Tregaskes
Teddington (across the river from Kingston Upon Thames, is where I think I'd like to live. Just 'cos it's cheaper than everywhere else around it. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
@Kol many years ago, we made the mistake of asking an estate agent in Surbiton whether it was any cheaper than Kingston. She replied 'No - of course not. We are on the fast line to Waterloo' and looked at us as if we were dog excrement.
- Andy C
I've checked rental prices in the area several times over the last 2 years and Teddington is definitely cheaper. I'm not buying, no way I can afford that. ;-) All a pip-dream anyway, need a steady job and I've not had that for a while. :-(
- Kol Tregaskes
anyone use google reader on windows mobile professional? I cant seem to get it to work and when I try to go to the mobile site it takes me to the regular site.

Guess the movie: "You know, Scotland has its own martial arts. Yeah, it's called Fuck You. It's mostly just head butting and then kicking people when they're on the ground."
- Thomas
Are they just too violent? You could just take a class where you just yell OY! and throw beer bottles.
- Jerry Perez
ju jitsu is not bad. And it's not hard to get into for late beginners, either.
- Adrian Scicluna
Matthew: Thanks but I am severely lacking the motivation to do exercise outside of classes.
- Amy
Did ju jitsu for a few months or so when I was young but I don't like throwing people/being thrown. And I don't want 'contact' because I ALWAYS get hurt (I got up to green tag in taekwon do before I got sick of being kicked/punched by accident) </whinge>
- Amy
Martial arts is a contact activity. Sounds like you may want to check out Wing Chun. :)
- imabonehead
I was going to suggest Aikido, but it's very much a contact art which requires a lot of throwing/being thrown.
- Chrimmus Tad
I don't really want to be travelling any great distances to class so I'm kinda stuck with those two options (unless I join a kids' class) at present, thanks though :)
- Amy
How many martial arts are there where people aren't kicked/punched/thrown? (From my brief experience, I'd also recommend Aikido. I wish I had enough $ to take it again.)
- Spidra Webster
Spidra: I like *practicing* the kicks, punches etc, it's when you're having to spar with people...I ALWAYS get hurt
- Amy
So just shadowbox, it will be fine. Unless your shadow gets in a lucky punch.
- Jerry Perez
Tai Chi is the only martial art I can think of where you don't have to spar with people. And I guess that's what you're saying you can't find. :)
- Spidra Webster
Akido has no sparing. Everything is highly choreographed and practiced. Nothing happens by surprise.
- Matthew DeVries
And I can't stand Tai Chi, I don't know who decided that stuff was drinkable, but if coffee shops just did away with that stuff outright, I'd be totally happy.

I just gave up standard shift in deference to my increasing feebleness. Soothed my pride by getting a Prius.
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
My previous car was a stick shift. Now I drive an automatic (a hybrid) which took some getting used to.
- imabonehead
I've never owned an automatic. I feel weird and somewhat unsafe driving them. With my increasing age though, I keep thinking it would be nice to just sit there and have the car drive me with minimal input from me. Laid back... with my mind on my money and my money on my mind... (sorry, couldn't help it... :D)
- Adrian
In my case it was carpal tunnel syndrome that did me in. Hands going numb is not a good thing when driving a stick. And arthritis is not a good thing when engaging the clutch. Now I'm used to the automatic except I occasionally reach for the stick at stoplights.
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
Me too when driving rentals... I call it "ghost clutch syndrome"
- Adrian
I drove manual for years. It's only been recently that I purchased an automatic (my smart). Even my Honda CR-V was manual. I had to special order it because they didn't make many manual-transmission CR-V's.
- Jason Huebel
I've never owned an automatic either, always manual... but my next car will likely be a hybrid. No more stick shift. It makes me a little sad.
- DGentry
I bet the delivery on that was a bitch! Also, Nice Car!

The glands under my chin have swollen up almost to the size of golf balls about an hour ago. They hurt. The swelling is going down now, though. DO. NOT. WANT. SICKNESS.
Not mumps. The swelling has gone down quite a bit, although it's still a little tender. Whatever it is, it has to be connected to this Hamburger Helper that we had for dinner, because within a couple of minutes of eating it, the swelling was at its worst. Maybe an allergic reaction? I've never heard of glands swelling from an allergic reaction, though.
- Jason Huebel
And other than those glands feeling tender, I feel fine.
- Jason Huebel
That happened to me a few months ago and it really scared me. It ended up being connected to a sinus infection.
- Trish R
Glad to hear it was a mostly temporary thing.
- Derrick
Is it your salivary glands, I've had mine swell after they stop secreting for a while, leaving me with swollen glands and cotton mouth. I used warm honey and peppermints to help stimulate the glands while also drinking water to handle the cotton mouth.
- Jimminy Fuller
Mine do that if I eat and I haven't eaten in a long time. My Dr says lemon drops help.
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
@Trish, I have been fighting sinus problems lately because of the swings back and forth in the weather. But this is the first time that's happened to me.
- Jason Huebel
@Jason, that was the first time it happened to me, too, and I frequently have sinus problems. It was weird.
- Trish R
heh, "weird" isn't quite the word I'd use... It really freaked me out.
- Jason Huebel
<reference to an..> oh sorry, got carried away from another post.
- Adrian Scicluna
@Jason, I meant weird that it was a sinus infection but had never happened before in past sinus infections. It freaked me out, too. Hope it's gone down by now. If not, call tomorrow morning and see if they can see you. Once I started antibiotics, it went away immediately.
- Trish R
Seems to be gone completely now. I kept drinking a lot of water and that seems to do the trick.

It's not a memory hog in windows. I'm reminded how glad I am to have made the switch every time I use my wife or daughter's computer and I sit there waiting for firefox to load.
- Jim Addz No Value
No, the numbers say most people prefer Fx above everything else, actually. Chrome is like Linux: it has a tiny minority of very fanatical supporters who make their number seem a lot larger than the mosquitoes they actually are. Also, Chrome's higher system overhead has been repeatedly shown in independent testing. It IS fast, but there's a tradeoff in RAM and CPU resources.
- LANjackal
I like Firefox. I don't like Chrome, plus Chrome is quite slow on my system. I like the Chrome interface least of all the browsers I've tried, below Firefox, Flock, Opera, Maxthon, Internet Explorer, and other browsers whose names I've forgotten.
- SuezanneC Baskerville
I usually prefer Chrome. I started Firefox today just to check for updates and I was reminded how slow it is compared to Chrome when it comes to starting up. Flash rendering is also quicker in Chrome.
- George Moga
Chrome uses memory efficiently. Firefox uses more and more until you close it.
- Raphael, Raphael
Chrome is both a memory hog and really, really slow. At least it is slow when I use the beta 4 version with a lot of plugins(beta is forced). In fact it became so slowthat it is almost unusable on my netbook. The same netbook has comparable plugins (but even more and better working ones) in firefox and that installation just flies! Yes, Chrome is fast on Java, but that is it! Try to load anything with a long page, like a newspaper or my favorite Swedish price comparison site, and it really takes forever.
- Magnus
And on my quadcore desktop with windows 7, it is the same story. Here the waiting time isn't as annoying in Chrome, but it is noticeably slower in everyday usage. I don't know about the stable versions without the plugins, but that isn't interesting at all, since plugins is what makes the browsers, at least for me! And yes, it really is a memory hog. Used about 600 megs on my 1 gig...
- Magnus
Weird. Chrome works more efficiently and faster than FFx on all my computers. Raphael++ on the mem leaks in FFx

Safari on a daily basis for me - Only use the others for special features when needed. Wit a Flash blocker I've never had an overload with Safari (Mac) no matter the number of windows/tabs.
- PXLated
Tried Chrome didnt like it. I love Firefox for the extensions.
- Shawn aka ringking
Chrome is AWESOME with extensions! I love it... seriously amazing
- Susan Beebe
I am still using Safari over Chrome. Chrome is a memory hog and slows my computer.
- Louis Gray
My friends want me to use Firefox but it is kinda hard to breakaway from Chrome.
- Stephen
I never feel like using any other browser besides safari when I am using Mac.
- ashish
Chrome now has 98% of my online time, on it since it came out, Win 7 runs it smoothly, both stable and dev versions. Some extensions are partly a hype, but this fast simple browser or coming OS are way beyond that. I did have memory issues on XP but that old machine had 1GB Ram :-)
- Majento
I would really appreciate if someone could provide details on how Chrome is a memory hog or otherwise mis-manages resoures.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
i still dig FF. i'm soaking in it now.

General Use: (OS X): 70% Safari, 25% Firefox and 5% Chrome. During Web Development: 94% Firefox, 5% Safari and 1% Chrome.
- Micah Wittman
Micah, have you checked the web dev tools in Chrome? They can be pretty helpful. LANjackal, you may compare Chrome usage to mosquitoes, but a lot of people do like it. Chrome has also raised the bar in browser speed, and the resulting faster competition is good for users regardless of which browser they like.
- Matt Cutts
from iPhone
I prefer Chrome. Try this simple test. Highlight on your desktop both Chrome and Firefox icons, hit Enter and see which opens first. That's faster.
- Will Higgins™
Matt, thanks - I am aware of the Chrome tools. Do you know if, with Developer Tools, there's a way to highlight a select a DOM and go right into edit mode? With Firebug I can alter/add markup then toggle out of edit mode and it goes live - it's so handy.
- Micah Wittman
I still use firefox and like it much better than Chrome. One reason is all of the plug-ins available.
- Jeff P. Henderson
I still use Firefox most of the time, mainly for its plugins and add-ons
- M F
Ever so rarely use Firefox nowadays. Everything I used in FrF is now available in Chrome and even with more extensions installed than FrF Chrome is still faster. I'm sticking wit Chrome. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
I still prefer Firefox. But after the introduction of extensions, I do try to use Chrome more and I've to say it's much faster in loading pages. The memory hog isn't that much of a concern, at least it's not causing any problems for me. I still miss the Firefox extensions a lot when using Chrome, so I guess I've to wait for more Chrome extensions to develop before considering a switch to Chrome.
- Jackie
If you use javascript heavy apps, Chrome wins hands down. The js handling in FF is slow sluggish, with typically a lot of spinning wheel waits. Rarely do I see that in chrome. I see it less in safari that in FF, but still more than in chrome.
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I use Chrome to see one of my Gmail accounts. Apart from it telling me it had an error doing something (and then doing it OK anyway) it has not caused me any grief. It is no great shakes in the looks department though. I use Safari for everything except the toolbar things that I can only see with Firefox (Compete, Majestico..). In my wasted life/extensive testing ;-) Safari is the quickest, the nicest-looking, the most user-friendly, and (joint first with Chrome) the one I trust most with my information.
- david
I use Firefox for workflow, when I open and close tabs quickly (preventing memory hogging and buildup). I use Chrome for 'always-on' tabs, which also are usually Google apps (GReader, Wave, Docs) -- also FriendFeed, Facebook, Twitter/Brizzly. System seems more stable, in the past month, with that arrangement. I've stopped using FF extensions, because they were doing most of the hogging -- so Chrome is equally good a browser now.
- Christopher Galtenberg
happy with ff, reason#1: extensions, reason#2: got used to it => have to try chrome and safari. I like david's concept of having more than one browser and adapting it to specific needs.
- Manuel
i use safari and firefox...each has it's place...
- sally stokhamer
Chrome works swimmingly on Linux. If I leave FF open over night, it eventually tries to take all of my RAM. Chrome always stays in its little box.
- James Williams
Chrome slows down a lot, and it has suddenly decided it wants to remember my bank account information even though i told it not to. it would be nice if I could go in and do things like delete certain saved form information, or set cache size. It's only an alternate browser, not a primary.
- Richard Lawler
There is NO equivalent of Multifox on Chrome. That extension allows me to be logged in to the same site on several accounts simultaneously. No need for any other browser, thanks

I haven't even installed FF on my freshly reformatted machine -- Chrome has been all I needed and I don't see going back. In fact, I just redid some of our workflow pages at work that I designed so they would specifically work better with Chrome. (They were previously built for... shudder... IE6.)

I'm thinking about a Mexican getaway sometime in April, but I've never been so I don't know where to go. Would like to stay in an area where it has all of the luxuries of a resort without being confined in one. There's something about being able to step outside the hotel and walk around town and get a feel for the local culture...
without worrying about the kids being kidnapped or having to walk through a 3rd world scenario. It would be nice, too, if there is a good hospital nearby in case of emergencies. Suggestions/advice are welcome.

Try Cancun and visit the many Mayan ruins (Chichen Itza, Tulum, Coba, ...). I highly recommend Coba which is the only ruin where you can actually climb to the top of the pyramid and the view of the jungle from up there is fantastic.

I guess it depends on what part of Puerto Vallarta, for those who mentioned that. I also guess it depends on April's definition of "3rd world scenario". Walking around PV last time I was there, we found some pretty scary sweatshop-looking places, sketchy back alleys, etc. That's probably something you're going to find in any city of reasonable size in Mexico. Perhaps if you just stick...

My Méxican friend recommended Puebla to me, and I really enjoyed my vacation there. Not much "3rd world scenario", at least around the town center where we stayed. I don't know about the hospitals though. About not drinking the water: I also didn't take ice in my drinks, didn't eat fruit, and brushed my teeth with bottled water. I didn't get sick in ten days in México.

April, I actually ran it, but it's still hanging, not as quickly as before but it only pulled 2800 of the users from Zee's public subscriptions. I really need to put more work into all of my Friendfeed backup tools. Note: I'm a retard, I'll dm you a list of your users FFriends and their subsequent Twitter accounts.
- Jimminy Fuller
Sean, if only I knew. This was delivered directly to me fresh and hot.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Wow, whatever you do, don't google "Asian guys at beach licking" if you want to find the Flickr account for this. No, seriously. Just...don't. o.O
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
changed my life forever...I will always go to the beach with a a few chubby buddies after porking myself up for those bosoms ~ and this image is most definitely going in the ol' spank bank
- sofarsoShawn
Remember ! I bring quality product to Friend Feed !:)
- Akiva Moskovitz
you know what would be funny: ok bear with me, if we blindfolded leather donut (you know the booby man) and...yeah fill in the blanks...something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch...
- sofarsoShawn
Sir, randomly linking to your FriendFeed from one of my posts is oh wait you'll never see this because you're blocked for spamming. Thanks anyway, kaghazrangy.
- Akiva Moskovitz
damn this picture just won't go away - you have forced me to hide it
- William Harryman
Akiva, wasn't that pic taken at your last BBQ?
- Paul
Every time I see this picture I smile. Their joy is infectious, like herpes.
- Sparky
Paul, I surely do wish I had a beach in my back yard!
- Akiva Moskovitz
Sparky, I'm going to have this blown up to poster-size and attaching it to the ceiling above our bed. That'll cause some infections!
- Akiva Moskovitz
makes me want to grow a rack and diddle with my own, know what I'm saying?
- sofarsoShawn
this. . . .this. . . ugh . . . so fucking wrong.
- Peter Ghosh
Akiva - you can put anything you want above our bed.
- Sparky
i've been trying to formulate a comment for this for days, but i just...can't.
- joey
I still want to know the motivation here. is this a gay marriage argument? or are we already pushing group social contracts on friendfeed?
- Noah David Simon
oh man this one keeps popping up on ma friendfeed,....must spread virus nao
- Chris Hofmann
I'm surprised no one's noticed old boy's red-framed glasses.
- Akiva Moskovitz
oh right... the glasses are so important when three asian men are licking his nipples and all the comments are by people who think gay marriage has something to do with equality... when it has everything to do with taking protections away from children. the red glass glasses.... um yeah. chicken and Oklahoma with milk
- Noah David Simon
Mark, you have uncovered the dark underbelly of humanity except in this case it isn't dark but is rather a pasty hue somewhere in the vicinity of undercooked flan.
- Akiva Moskovitz
This should be in the default noobie FF stream. Like the first thing anyone who signs up sees. If they stick around they're part of the family.
- Chrimmus Tad
Perhaps this can replace the kitty pic on the start page for non-members!
- Chris, Taskerrific Guy
I'm certain prop8 had nothing to do with Swine Flu
- Noah David Simon
I'm thinking that eventually, it will have been hidden by every user on FriendFeed. It'll be the most hidden post in FriendFeed history.
- Akiva Moskovitz

Herpes (and this): the gifts that keep on giving.
- Sparky
I wonder if the FriendFeed guys see this and say to themselves, 'Well, this isn't exactly what we had in mind when we started started FriendFeed.'
- Akiva Moskovitz
I look at it and think, "Not again."
- Steven Perez
from IM
Just about the time you FF is getting some class .. Oh well we is what we is.
- Brent - Loving Life
I can't believe after all this time some diligent FF'er hasn't dug up the identities (I said "titties") of this bunch and invited them to join the service that made them famous. Mitchell Tsai, get to work!
- Sprague D
i think if you unlike and delete all your comments anna it'll go away, but hide in general would be nice too (this photo makes me smile every time it pops up so don't mind it)...
- mike "glemak" dunn
*sigh* This is never going away, is it? It's gonna end up like James Bond movies and Swedish meatballs - always existing in the same form. never diminshing, never forgotten. :( :( :(
- Steven Perez
from IM
It will go away, to be replaced with photoshops of the original. It's all part of the meme lifecycle.
- Sparky
I am too new on friendfeed to know anything about record comments.. I love gmail tho, puts all the comments in one threaded email and I can delete them all later in one shot or not if I choose..
- David Gross
from email
well we should aim to beat the record.. i mean jeez there are tons of things that could be said about this.. like.. does it taste like chicken?
- ed fry
I'm gonna have nightmares now. thanks ed. ;)
- Alejandro
ok, in Japanese: "an, an, soko dame!"
- Rick Cogley
You can't close this thread. A lot of people say that this place is a Scoble-fest but, truly, it is this thread that is at the very heart of FriendFeed.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I'm officially going to proclaim that this is the FF equivalent of Goatse or FFoatse if you will. Lets all refer to it as that from this point forward.
- Mark Krynsky
Sparky has left 57 comments. The rest of you are slacking. Hop to it!
- Christopher Harley
Chrisitan just walked by and said "It's too early in the morning for Japanese titty licking." It's NEVER too early for Japanese titty licking.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
THIS is the first thing I see here this morning?
- l0ckergn0me
Chris, you just woke up? C'mon, man! It's 10:30!
- Akiva Moskovitz
I knew he would break eventually - it's fitting that it's on this thread *now to find out how to hide a thread once you've commented....*
- WorldofHiglet
As much as I am loathe to bump this post, I have to do it to say, You, sir, are a master. Well played, sir. Well played. This is why I take every opportunity to say, in my next life, I want to be Akiva. I've already called it! Don't anybody go getting any more ideas.
- ♥patricia♥
I, for one, refuse to "bump" posts...it's very unseemly...
- Live4Emma (L4S)
I wish FF-search allowed to do GROUP BY -aggregations so I could COUNT(*) who are the biggest *bump*ers. :)
- Jemm
Makes me laugh everytime I see it. Such a happy yet silly scene by the sea.
- Toby Graham
There is nothing silly about it. This is serious business.
- Sparky
The more I see this, the more I like it. Not for the ironic nipple-licking, but because these kids are genuinely enjoying themselves. :) Carry on.
- felicious
This photo looks so much better in iPhone 3.0!#!~
- Akiva Moskovitz
Seriously dude. What do I have to do to get rid of this disgusting picture!? Doh! Now I've just pushed it back to the top... yuck, I'm so sickened.
- Jason Nunnelley
I love this image, because I have no clue why it's happening. Randomness FTW!!

I'm just thinking of all the new folks coming to friend feed and see this and wonder just what the hell did I get into anyway? And why in Gods name can't I spell Friend correctly the first time - GRRRRRR
- Brent - Loving Life
Can't believe I never hit 'like' on this! Consider the situation rectumfied.
- Bec Rowe @d0tski
Oops! I hope I didn't just bump this up again... ;-)
- Sprague D
It's just so refreshing to see genuine juvenile humour at work. These kids are no different from any other, I think it's a great happy image, given all the other shite happening in this world on a daily basis. For those that are too pompous and prudish, 'up yours with brass knobs'
- ImJustCreative
Wow. 666. Nice! Actually, the reason Asashoryu is getting a divorce ( http://ff.im/4T0UA ), is because he wants to spend time with this lot.
- Rick Cogley
To this day, the pic still comes back. Just like Herpes. :D
- Danny Minick
Although unlike herpes this photo is fun to share with friends.
- Sparky
I would rather go to http://woot.com and buy the Acer Aspire One for $259.99, I do not care that it is a refurb.. but what would I do with two laptops? Maybe #hive knows? hmm..

What's this? A real question in this thread? Two extra laptops? Make them fancy digital photo frames.

@SeanMcGee sorry about the spam, this thread is sorta spammy.. I get the messages in email perfect for replying with any message because it then gets posted on twitter and facebook.. I do not do it all the time, look at my other posts in this stream..

all this oral stuff is just begging the question of when do they start with the money shots?
- Noah David Simon
I just use this image as a way to announce crap. no one really pays attention to my feed... except my enemies. so when I have something important to say I tell the Asian Titty lickers. it is my strong belief that this thread needs it's very own domain name. something like http://xrl.us/TittyLickers
- Noah David Simon
You know, every time this pops up, since FF hides the middle of the comments of which there are 804 or so, I see Akiva say "I'm sorry." at the top. It makes me wonder about how some things are just not possible to apologize for!
- Rick Cogley
wow, I can't believe tomorrow is Friday :o) no, wait, somewhere in the world it's ALREADY Friday :o)

Thanks Rick, thats what I thought.. does that mean I can start with the #followfriday on twitter or do I have to wait till it is Friday here in NJ? would be funny to post it from this post LOL all my friendfeed goes to twitter..
- David Gross
from email
David - yeah, you can get an early start.
- Rick Cogley
Rick, I am not good at lists or #followfriday but there are lotsa good people in this thread.
- David Gross

the thing that strikes me about this (aside from the obvious) is after seeing this thing pop up like 35-40 times since March its just occurred to me that I don't have any (guy) friends that a) would lick my nipples b) would lick my nipples for a photograph. Maybe I should get out more...
- J. Abdul-Qahhar
I'm a little scared that I've this has gotten more than 800 comments and almost 200 likes over nearly five months and I still haven't clicked "Hide."
- Scott of Two Countries
It's just a bit of fun. I mean watching how many comment, not the picture content (although I suspect that is all that was too!)
- Ian May
Allright, you guys ready to shoot "mirth and girth"?
- Rick Cogley
For the life of me, I'll never understand the emotion people have around this picture for or against. There's no nudity at all, not even implied nudity. Less dude nudity than a beer commercial or cigarette ad, yet there are people who really really really hate this picture.
- Matthew DeVries
I found a way to get a Tit Theme, and it involves this picture.
- Jimminy Fuller
Hahahaha! It's like a telethon. And after Joey Bishop goes off stage, they flash this picture on the screen. "Won't you think of the CHILDREN?"
- Spidra Webster
It's been a while, hope the magnetism still prevails...
- Aaman (Clone of FF)
I just had to bump this once more... gives me a whole new excuse to go look at Phoebe again!
- Mark "DerBingle" J
Hmmm, where do you think they're from? My guess is Japan...
- sofarsoShawn
The bumping algorithm includes things like novel people posting to it, in addition to thread age, and rapidity of comments. If the same 3 people are talking in a thread, it quits bumping because it's obviously a closed tea party.
- Matthew DeVries
I forgot, also you're a very handsome guy(saw the wedding images), I don't understand why you don't like to share your face. Rochelle is a lucky lady.
- Jimminy Fuller
Jimminy, it's an irrational phobia. No different than people who are afraid of heights, spiders, clowns, or Canada.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Akiva, now I'm LMAO at the fear of Canada. People are actually afraid of Canada, or just the fact they don't know if they're British or French?
- Jimminy Fuller
I don't think even Canadians know that difference.
- Akiva Moskovitz
If Friendfeed had sound .. this thread would be all licks and slurps
- Mattb4rd
Sorry Akiva, I think it was the display picture.. I have known male and female Akivas.. Oh and by the way guys I am not afraid of Canada LOL will be there this weekend.. Dave Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach<http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes...> - "Even a stopped clock is right twice a day."

- Jimminy Fuller
If it gets to 1000 will Akiva lock it so it can sink from our feeds forever? Please?!?
- WorldofHiglet
I think locking this post would be un-FriendFeedian.
- Jason Huebel
This is the immortal post everyone who uses the service must see it so WoH it just wouldn't be good to lock it.
- Jimminy Fuller
Not everyone see's it, only the people with true class do.

It is now September 1st, and this has not reached 1000 comments. I am sorely disappointed. Yet, for some reason, I am uplifted by the smile of this young man, who was fortunate enough to have such great friends that fateful day on the beach.
- Josh Haley
Quick let's add some comments... Gee that guy on the far left is not really getting into the swing of things is he?
- Travis Koger
Travis... bear in mind that we don't know what "main chubby guy's" right hand is doing, or where it's doing whatever it's doing...
- Mark "DerBingle" J
BUT WE CAN INFER WHAT "MAIN CHUBBY GUY'S" HANDS ARE DOING. BOTH OF THEM.
- Sparky
@Mark, of interest (well not really) is the location of Front Left guy's left hand.
- Travis Koger
The photo of Akiva in the jacuzzi with the Texas A&M cheerleaders would be so much more popular. Now if only someone would post it.
- Christopher Harley
Noooooooooooooooooooooo! Posted March 1st and we are still enduring the wrath! "Akiva's posts, now with more staying power than ever before!"
- Nicholas Kreidberg
YAY! OVER 1000 COMMENTS BLAAAARGBLBLLB

It feels like Groundhog Day whenever I see this.
- Andru Edwards
Except that unlike Groundhog Day this is AWESOME!

This thread was how I discovered Akiva. ROFL... Y.M.C.A.! BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP! GAZE AT IT! DON'T LOOK AWAY! >:O I SED DON'T LOOK AWAY!!! ... ^_^

You have nothing to fear - I never look away.

On Fark, there was this one thread, that just kept growing and growing. On Fark, it was a single page per thread. And you could post images and gif inline. Well the thread wouldn't die, people just kept posting. I forget which one it was. Anyway, it got so monsterous, that few people going to read/post to it per day (which was only a handfull) accounted for 1/3 of the server load of the site. They eventually had to cull that thread.
- Matthew DeVries
I think everyone who has participated in this thread has 'culled' themselves privately.
- Akiva Moskovitz
What with all the copycat images this has inspired I hope our muse continues to stick around and not get lost in the shuffle of so many knockoffs.
- Sparky
SHUT UP SPARKY!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111!!!!

I refuse to shut up about the glory that is this thread. REFUSE.

- David Gross

Yes, Sparky, they do not know how good they have it there frolicking on the beach while we freeze up here.. Hard to believe it is only 49 degrees, feels like 29.. I bet it's at least 85 degrees on that beach.

Anyone who doesn't appreciate this thread is clearly not developing a FriendFeed iPhone client because this is a great stress test case. (It crashes BuddyFeed, by the way.)

Also it exercises the crap out of your thumb trying to scroll down to the bottom of it.
- Akiva Moskovitz

Do you need to appreciate the pic in order to appreciate the thread?
- Travis Koger
If I un-collapse this thread, will it break my computer?
- Eivind
Every time this thread gets a bumped, god kills a kitten
- Matthew DeVries
Matthew, you may have given some people more reason to keep bumping this thread.
- Victor Ganata
How does it give you thumb exercise? Whatever you're doing, why don't you either use the keyboard or switch to Linux so you can middle-click the scrollbar to jump to where you want? :P
- Tanath
actually this thread does not bother me because I get it in email and gmail groups them and starts new thread after every 100 comments. I have it autoarchived so I do not have to see on phone lol and just see when I look at my ffeed label in gmail.

- Bora Mesut PALAS
I think the one where Robert Scoble gave away money easily beats this one, but this post has staying power. ;-)
- Jason Huebel
I think that Chinese at FF post was a marriage proposal thing. They were all trying to bump the guy's photo so that it would be the first thing his girlfriend would see when she logged onto FF.
- Kamilah Gill
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, 1 salty beach, 2 pairs of glasses, 3 lords a licking, 4 chubby men, 5 santa hats(O_o), 6 rolls of fat, 7 ????, and 8 moobs to view.

@Keiko No I'm asking what is kiriotoshi? Whenever I'm at Mitsuwa I see meat packaged "for shabu shabu", "for sukiyaki", "for yakiniku." Then there's "kiriotoshi." What is kiriotoshi meat used in?
- ronin
@ronin>Japanese people likes sliced meet, not only beef. For "shabu-shabu", " gyudon". so, "kiriotoshi" means ..... to slice like a italian prosciutto!
- Keiko Yamada
@Christopher A Carr >Yes, that's right! :)
