LOLCATS, Bush approval ratings, high gas prices, Yahoo being clueless - anything but this Twitter maintenance, peope jumping ship from Twitter, bla, bla, bla! - Mike Doeff
Louis, thanks again for including me in the list. I am honored. - Franklin Pettit
I'd like to follow you folks here, if you're on the list speak up and make it easy me and the others who are as lazy as I am! - David Knight
Wow, thanks Louis! It's great to be recognized for nothing more than my own random incessant blathering. ;) - Nathaniel Payne
I saw this post yesterday and just got around to read it, only to discover that I'm on it! Thanks for including me Louis - I too am honored. Your blog is one of those gems on my list as well. - Jesse Stay
I think it has GREAT potential. I need to think more thoroughly about it from a costing and valuation perspective - I just have never even contemplated the idea. Kudos on the innovation. It might take a while to catch on, but remember, if your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats! - Kenneth Younger
This is definitely an interesting concept. I hope it works out for you! Anyone else doing something similar? - Nathaniel Payne
someone is doing something solely thru twitter. Haven't read much else as I was doing my research - andy brudtkuhl
I'd join in, but if I posted a picture of me after back to back work @ home days, you wouldn't be able to keep those sausage patties down. - Kevin Shannon
Followed your example, even though my current whereabouts are much more mundane and don't involve the sophistication of either sausage patties or a patio reference http://www.flickr.com/photos/m... ;) Like the idea. - Mustafa K. Isik
I did it, too. Are all cellphone pics universally bad? - Harvey Simmons
ha, you more so than me. but...when you know you are going to be taking one, doesn't it kind of go against the general idea of it? i suppose i just have to take one at a time where I know i am unprimped... or, er... :| - edythe
Well... I didn't primp (e.g. wipe away my sweat or change shirts), but I did pick a spot with nice lighting (the sun had just started shining after the rain) and I shot 40 quick-snaps with my camera on rapid-fire and picked my favorite. No post-processing, but it's kind-of-a-cheat compared to non-photographers who only take 1 shot. Thought about posting the photo where my eyes were closed. That was kinda cool... - Mitchell Tsai
Well done! A simple yet brilliant idea! - Britney Mason
I'm glad you like the Tweetup Badges http://tweetupbadges.com will be live soon. You will be able to customize and order Tweetup Badges for your own group there. - Richard Drake
I am so tempted to start my own stealth search startup called hawht. - Adam Lasnik
I am interested to know more about them. They have been crawling for many hours already today. Way more than Yahoo or MSN. Just about the same as Google. - Caleb Elston
I never would have guessed that was pronounced "cool". If I can't pronounce a site's name correctly on the first try, it fails immediately. Toluu almost didn't make the cut. :) - Nathaniel Payne
Nathaniel: I am happy we made the cut :) I liked Toluu better than Feed-o-magic-matcher-OPML-Sharer.com - Caleb Elston
Great 30-min video from Iowa Public Television's news magazine "The Iowa Journal" about the big picture of flooding in Iowa -- where it's occurring and why. - Ginger Makela
any more invites floating around? :D - Phil Crissman
The optimist in me wants to believe Louis shared this because it's a well-written post from my blog, not because it's about Toluu. However, the cynic in me understands that this isn't the case. ;) - Nathaniel Payne
Nathaniel, you're too sensitive. Maybe it's both? :-) (And Samuel is invited) - Louis Gray
There's only one wish I have for Toluu... that I could hook it up to the Firefox Feed icon in the address bar... I really don't like having my Links toolbar open (I'm on a tablet pc with limited real estate, so I keep my toolbars hidden). Since I've got Google Reader hooked up to that subscribe icon, it's just way too easy to bypass Toluu, as much as I really would like to go through there for the cool discovery that's available there! - Kenneth LeFebvre
ok so many talking about it, I'd love to try it if someone could spare an invite, andrewinwhistler (at) gmail.com -Thanks :) - Andrew Smith
Kenneth: Are you using a special firefox add-on to get that functionality? We would certainly be interested in making it easier to subscribe via the native Firefox UI elements. - Caleb Elston
Read the article, and the site itself. Looks very promising. If anyone has spare invite, I'd much appreciate one. - Dan Nimtz via twhirl
Dan: If you leave your email we will get you an invite right away - Caleb Elston
Caleb: dnimtz at gmail Thanks in advance! - Dan Nimtz
Caleb: Got it thanks. Importing my feeds from Google reader now. - Dan Nimtz via twhirl
@Kenneth: I use the same thing - best part is, just use the Toluu bookmarklet and set Google Reader as your feed reader in Toluu. Then, when you want to add a blog feed, just click the bookmarklet. It will save the feed in Toluu, then automagically jump you to the standard Firefox GReader feed add prompt. Easy as cake (mmmmmm, cake). - Nathaniel Payne
Can I get an invite as well? Really interested in testing this out. Thanks in advance! winston[at]wego.com - Winston Teo
I agree. I found that I started using docs for collaborative editing, like meeting notes and drafts of longer works, but now it has become a general scratch pad for random thoughts and designs as well. This is a place where the cloud+browser is a clear win. - DeWitt Clinton
I've actually switched to Buzzword for my docs now, but I agree that GDocs is fairly excellent - Nathaniel Payne
I generally use vi as my random scratch pad but I need to write a rather long document for work and decided to use Docs for it. - Benjamin Golub
I doubt I'll ever need it in fact... Since I use text content online, and when I want typesetting I use LaTeX... And yes! vi always! - directeur
OMG... I love Google Docs... yes, Ben you're *SLOW* ... =) - Susan Beebe
I actually tried it since the closed beta Writely, but I still think, I'll never need it for real :) - directeur
Speaking of LaTeX, I had need of writing superscript and subscript in a FF post earlier today. Or more generally, a need of writing math markup, a la MathML or similar. File that away for a rainy day. - DeWitt Clinton
I really like Google Docs as well, and was surprised and happy to discover a feature I was unaware of -- a dashboard! Hat tip to Ionut - http://googlesystem.blogspot.c.... Oh, and a random Docs tip: Try using it in meetings realtime! With a table, put the agenda on the lefthand side, and notes in the righthand side. Give it a short name (corp.example.com/meetingtoday) and have all participants load it on their laptops. Give one or more folks write access, and voila! - Adam Lasnik
Don't forget to install the bookmarklet! :) - Nathaniel Payne
Glad to have you, Nathaniel is right the bookmakrlet at toluu.com/import (at the bottom) lets you add feeds to Toluu and Google reader at the same time. - Caleb Elston
Have a story pounding the insides of your head, but don't have the time to write an entire novel? Let Minific help you capture and share your short bursts of creative spirit! - Morton Fox
It was in one of the RSS feeds I subscribe to, probably KillerStartups. - Morton Fox
Wow - that's insane. I wouldn't call Minific a "startup" by any definition of the term. It's just a site I built one day because I was bored. I didn't even write the javascript for it - it's essentially a front end for the Twemes.com tag #minific. Weird how something like that can catch on. :) - Nathaniel Payne
Thanks, Morton. Due to the KillerStarups coverage, I've received 3 emails this morning from consultants wanting to "take Minific to the next level". There is no next level, guys. That's really all there is to it. - Nathaniel Payne
OpenID does need to start blending into the browser. Maybe Gears is a good way to help do this? - David Recordon
What's the point of a identify management, when the user always click allow. First people need to understand why there is a need for OpenID. I think more more we try to fix a problem which Jon Random User even doesn't have. - Benjamin Kohler
I would say color because I love the tones. However, the object in the lower right really pops out in the color shot (I'd get rid of it). So I'd go with b&w because it doesn't distract me as much. - Dawn M. Armfield
