Image Comparisons: PNG, WebP, and HIPIX | VizWorld.com - http://www.vizworld.com/2010...
WebP offers the best compression, but at the default settings the quality is quite obviously degraded. At “high Quality”, the HIPIX image looks great and beats WebP on high quality for filesize, but at lower qualities seems to have difficulties with finer details as evidenced by the grainy text edges. - DrupalEasy

Samantha Warren’s Web Design Blog | Design ~ Web Typography ~ Inspiration - http://badassideas.com/style-t...
STYLE TILES AREN’T MOOD BOARDS OR COMPS What makes a style tile unique from other tools is that it is specifically a method for establishing a visual vocabulary between the designer and the client, rather than setting a “mood” or defining elements that will ultimately be included in a full layout. (Though obviously the style tile elements may indeed make it into the final design). - DrupalEasy

Noggin module allows you to upload a custom header image on the Theme Settings page, just as you can logos and favorite icons. With Bartik and other core Drupal themes, the header image will appear automatically. For themes that use slightly different markup, you can enter in a custom CSS selector for the header region. - DrupalEasy

Core Context UX: Page & Component library | groups.drupal.org - http://groups.drupal.org/node...
This brings us to a fundamental problem that new users and even existing users face when they use Drupal: they have to learn “what kind of thing” each part on the page is - is it a block? is it a menu in a block? or is it a element provided by a module? From usability testing we understand that people do not see the difference between the different parts of the page. Everything is simply content displayed in a specific (customizable) way. Instead, Drupal forces users to build an understanding of its own internal implementation model. A classic example that trips up both beginners and more experienced people is that after creating a menu, you need to remember it is a block, leave the menu page and go to the block page to make the menu visible in the front-end. Contributed models like Views, Panels, Page Manager and Spaces try to solve this experience by providing “builder” tools for creating pages and making new block-like components that can be placed and configured. - DrupalEasy

Hacked! | drupal.org - http://drupal.org/project...
This module does not and will not prevent your site from being 'hacked'. This module scans the currently installed Drupal, contributed modules and themes, re-downloads them and determines if they have been changed. Changes are marked clearly and if the diff module is installed then Hacked! will allow you to see the exact lines that have changed. Hacked! also provides drush integration so that you can see what files have changed from the command line. This is primarily a developer tool and should never ever (don't even think it) be installed on a production site. - DrupalEasy

Contextual Administration | drupal.org - http://drupal.org/project...
an administration tool based on CTools Page Manager module. It allows for the deployment of custom administrative pages to give site administrators who don't have the programming know-how the ability to add traditionally developer style administration links to their site in an ad-hoc fashion. The primary difference between these features and core's ability to do these things is that context_admin is creating new pages and controls access to these pages through page_manager's access plugins. In this manner web administrators can give access to users to do particular tasks from particular pages w/o giving them the sitewide ability to perform the same functions. A good example would be that the "administer taxonomy" permission wouldn't necessarily be required to utilize the various taxonomy capabilities that context_admin has by default, as this is all controlled by the page's page_manager access handler(s). - DrupalEasy

Drupal 7 tip : Update and insert only specific fields of your entity | Drupal Developer | Dominique De Cooman - http://dominiquedecooman.com/blog...
If you want to save only a specific field on your entity instead of saving the whole entity you can. In a submodule of the fields module you ll find a module called field_sql_storage module. In that module all functions available for the sql storage backend can be used. One of them is field_sql_storage_field_storage_write, which you give your entity, type, operator (update, insert) and which fields to save. - DrupalEasy

Being an intern at Acquia | Acquia - http://acquia.com/blog...
My name is Gaelan Adams and my alter-ego is Captain_Intern. (Though I’ve been thinking of being boring and switching it to gadams). I work on Acquia’s Operations and Hosting Engineering team making sure that new clients get their servers, answering alerts when systems complain and on occasion work with the Client Advisory Team providing world class Drupal support to Acquia customers. I’m from Orlando, Florida and I was introduced to Drupal three years ago by Ryan Price and Mike Anello not to mention several others of the Central Florida Drupal Users Group have helped my skills grow and increase. I have to say working here at Acquia is even more exciting than I would have ever thought. - DrupalEasy

Views Datasource | drupal.org - http://drupal.org/project...
Views Datasource is a set of plugins for Drupal Views for rendering node content in a number of shareable, reusable formats based on XML, JSON and XHTML. These formats allow content in a Drupal site to be easily used as data sources for Semantic Web clients and web mash-ups. Views Datasource plugins output content from node lists created in the Drupal Views interface in a variety of formats - XML data documents using schemas like OPML and Atom, RDF data documents using a vocabulary like FOAF, JSON data documents in a format like Exhibit JSON, and XHTML data documents using a microformat like hCard. Views Datasource can be thought of as a userland complement to the work going on in the Services and RDF APIs as a site operator only needs to know Views to be able to create datasources in the different formats. - DrupalEasy

Taxonomy display | drupal.org - http://drupal.org/project...
The taxonomy display module allows administrative configurable term display pages. This allows administrators to override the default presentation of taxonomy term pages per vocabulary through the taxonomy term page's manage display form. Plays nicely with Display suite. Does not conflict with modules that make use of hook_taxonomy_term_view_alter(), hook_entity_view(), or hook_entity_view_alter(). Administrators have the ability to prevent Drupal's core RSS feed from being attached to taxonomy term pages on a per vocabulary basis. Allowing usage of a custom feed, a feed from Views (or some other source), or no feed at all. - DrupalEasy

Revisioning | drupal.org - http://drupal.org/project...
Revisioning is a module for the configuration of workflows to create, moderate and publish content revisions. You use it in scenario's like this: Authors write content that prior to being made publicly visible must be reviewed (and possibly edited) by moderators. Once the moderators have published the content, authors should be prevented from modifying it while “live”, but they should be able to submit new revisions to their moderators. Both authors and moderators should be allowed to only access content relevant to their department (or region or division etc.). Finally, we shouldn't have to grant these roles “god-like” powers (e.g. "administer nodes" permission) to implement this. For the majority of use-cases configuration is straight-forward. The tricky bit are the permissions. - DrupalEasy

Thank You, Angie | Lullabot - http://www.lullabot.com/blog...
We've been proud to support Angie as she's worked so tirelessly on all of these projects over the years. We're sorry to see her go, yet we want to be sure to publicly thank her for everything she's done not only for and with Lullabot, but for everything she's done for the people of the Drupal community. Angie has accepted a job at Acquia which will allow her to work full time on Drupal core. We wish her well. We hope that whenever Angie hears herself drop an f-bomb, she'll have fond memories of her time with Lullabot. - DrupalEasy
